바이오디젤 부산물로부터 글리세롤의 분리 (Glycerol Separation from Biodiesel Byproduct)

  • 바이오디젤 부산물로부터 중화, 침전, 증류 등의 처리 공정을 거쳐 순수한 글리세롤을 분리할 수 있었다. 황산, 인산, 염산 등을 이용하여 산의 농도와 중화처리 온도에 따라 전처리, 증류공정을 통하여 얻어진 글리세롤 함량을 비교하였다. 염산은 5~37 wt%, 황산은 5~95 wt%, 인산은 5~85 wt% 범위 내에서 각각 중화 실험을 수행하였다. 중화처리 침전온도는 각 산에 대해 293~333 K 범위 내에서 변화시켰다. 그 결과 10 wt% 황산과 313 K의 85 wt% 인산처리 침전 온도로 각각 중화 처리한 경우에서 염 제거가 잘 이루어져 증류된 글리세롤 함량이 가장 높았다. 산 농도와 전처리 온도 조건의 변화는 바이오디젤 부산물로부터의 글리세롤 회수에 어느 정도 영향을 미쳤다.

Double-Enhancement Strategy: A Practical Approach to a Femto-Molar Level Detection of Prostate Specific $Antigen-{\alpha}_1-Antichymotrypsin$ (PSA/ACT Complex) for SPR Immunosensing

  • Prostate specific $antigen-{\alpha}_1-antichymotrypsin$ was detected by a double-enhancement strategy involving the exploitation of both colloidal gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and precipitation of an insoluble product formed by HRP-biocatalyzed oxidation. The AuNPs were synthesized and conjugated with horse-radish peroxidase-PSA polyclonal antibody by physisorption. Using the protein-colloid for SPR-based detection of the PSPJACT complex showed their enhancement as being consistent with other previous studies with regard to AuNPs enhancement, while the enzyme precipitation using DAB substrate was applied for the first time and greatly amplified the signal. The limit of detection was found at as low as 0.027 ng/ml of the PSA/ACT complex (or 300 fM), which is much higher than that of previous reports. This study indicates another way to enhance SPR measurement, and it is generally applicable to other SPR-based immunoassays.

Facile Precipitation Method for Morphological Tuning of Cu2O Crystals

  • We have developed a simple method for tuning the morphologies of $Cu_2O$ microcrystals. $Cu_2O$ microcrystals were prepared by precipitation at room temperature from a mixture of $Cu(CH_3COO)_2{\cdot}H_2O$, N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl ethylenediamine (TMEDA), ascorbic acid, and polyethylene glycol (PEG). TMEDA was used to promote the formation of copper-TMEDA complexes. A variety of $Cu_2O$ microcrystal morphologies were obtained simply by varying the concentrations of TMEDA and ascorbic acid. Aggregated $Cu_2O$ microspheres are formed at higher concentrations of ascorbic acid in the absence of TMEDA. Aggregated $Cu_2O$ microcubes are formed at lower concentrations of ascorbic acid and higher concentrations of TMEDA. The crystal growth mechanism of these $Cu_2O$ morphologies is explained.

알루미나수화물(水和物)의 침전(沈澱)pH가 물성(物性)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of pH of Precipitation on Physical and Chemical Properties of Hydrous Aluninum Oxide)

  • A study on the effect of the pH of precipitation on the acid consuming capacity, aging stability, physical and chemical properties of hydrous aluminum oxide prepared by the reaction of aluminum chloride and ammonium hydroxide solution was carried out by means of X-ray diffraction, IR spectra and differential thermal analysis. The results from these experiments are as follows: 1. Hydrous aluminum oxide precipitated at lower pH showed better acid consuming capacity, higher stability and more anion contained in the structure than that prepared at higher pH. 2. The hydrous aluminum oxide prepared at lower pH is amorphous and that prepared at higher pH is crystalline hydrated hydrous aluminum oxide, i.e., Bayerite and these results are conformed to Rhee's hypothesis. 3. The rate of loss of reactivity and the end-point reactivity are related to the pH of precipitation.

(+)-Dihydromyricetin 분별침전에 미치는 제타전위의 영향 (Influence of Zeta Potential on Fractional Precipitation of (+)-Dihydromyricetin)

  • 본 연구에서는 바이오매스 유래 생리활성물질인 (+)-dihydromyricetin을 정제하기 위한 분별침전공정에서 분별침전용액의 제타전위가 분별침전 양상(순도, 수율, 침전물 형태와 크기)에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 제타전위 조절을 위한 실리카-알루미나의 첨가량(반응액 부피당 표면적) $100mm^{-1}$에서 가장 높은 수율을 얻을 수 있었다. 실리카-알루미나의 제타전위가 양(+)의 값으로 증가할수록 (+)-dihydromyricetin 수율과 침전물의 크기는 증가하였다. 가장 큰 제타전위 값(+4.99 mV)을 가진 실리카를 이용한 분별침전의 경우에는 가장 작은 제타전위 값(-19.00 mV)을 가진 알루미나를 이용한 분별침전의 경우보다 2배 이상 높은 수율을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 분별침전 과정에서 제타전위 절대값이 증가할수록 (+)-dihydromyricetin 수율과 침전물의 크기는 감소하여 제타전위 절대값에 반비례함을 알 수 있었다. 반면 표면적증가물질 실리카-알루미나의 제타전위 변화에도 (+)-dihydromyricetin 순도는 거의 변화가 없었다.

가죽, 모피가공 및 제조시설의 폐수처리시설 BAT평가 (Assessment of Best Available Technology of Wastewater Treatment Facilities in Leather Tanning and Finishing Industry)

  • The effluent limitations for individual industry based on the best available technology economically achievable (BAT) have been required to achieve effective regulation. BAT assessment criteria that are suitable for the circumstances of Korean industry were developed in the previous study. The criteria were applied to determine the BAT for leather tanning and finishing industry. For the evaluation BAT, a subcategorization for the industry considering wastewater characteristics, source equipments, raw material and so on should be suggested. Three subcategories: A) Unharing, Chrome Tan, Retan-Wet Finish, B) Chrome Tan, Retan-Wet Finish, and C) Furskins were proposed in this study. Wastewater discharged from the each category contains high concentration of COD, chrome, nitrogen and sulfide. In particular, the concentration of nitrogen from the subcategory A is significantly greater. Twenty sites were surveyed and wastewater qualities were analyzed. Therefore, six different technologies were applied to the subcategory A for the end-of-pipe treatment technology, and a technology was used in the subcategory B and C, respectively. The technology candidates were evaluated in terms of environmental impacts, economically achievability, treatment performance and economical reasonability. As the result, the technology options for each subcategories: A) primary chemical precipitation + modified Ludzack-Ettinger process (MLE) + secondary chemical precipitation, B) chemical precipitation + typical activated-sludge process + Fenton oxidation, C) chemical precipitation + typical activated-sludge process + batch Fenton oxidation or batch activated carbon treatment were selected as the BAT, respectively.

일산화탄소 제거를 위한 니켈 담지 흡착제 제조 (Nickel Supported Adsorbent for Removing Carbon Monoxide)

  • 실리카, 알루미늄 실리케이트, 감마 알루미나 담체에 $Ni(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$$Ni(CH_3COO)_2{\cdot}4H_2O$를 원료로 침전제인 요소와 시트르산을 사용하여 $90^{\circ}C$에서 공침법을 사용하여 흡착제를 제조하였으며 이를 환원시켜 일산화탄소 제거 실험을 수행하였다. 흡착제는 EDS, TPR, XRD 분석을 실시하여 이를 근거로 흡착제의 성능을 해석하였다. 침전제의 종류, 니켈 금속의 담지량, 담체, 니켈 금속의 염, 수소 환원 조건을 변화시켜 최적의 흡착 성능을 보이는 흡착제를 사용하여 실험을 수행하였다. 침전제인 요소에 $Ni(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$를 사용하여 실리카 담체에 니켈 54.8 wt%를 담지하여 제조한 흡착제를 $500^{\circ}C$에서 3시간 수소 환원 전처리 후 흡착 실험을 하였을 때 가장 효과적으로 일산화탄소를 제거함을 확인하였다.

Verification of Core/Shell Structure of Poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-divinyl benzene) Microspheres

  • The core/shell type structure of the highly crosslinked poly(glycidylmetharylate-co-divinylbenzene) microspheres prepared in the precipitation polymerization in acetonitrile was thoroughly verified by means of swelling, $^1H$ NMR, XPS, TEM and TGA measurements. In the XPS measurement, the higher the GMA content, the higher the oxygen content was observed, implying that the higher content of GMA is observed in the particle surface. The further verification of the core/shell structure of the poly(GMA-co-DVB) particles was carried out using $^1H$ NMR and TEM techniques, resulting in the poly(GMA-co-DVB) particles with the GMA rich-phase and DVB rich-phase. In overall, the poly(GMA-co-DVB) microspheres consist of a highly crosslinked DVB rich-phase in the core and slightly or non-crosslinked GMA rich-phase in the shell part due to the different reaction ratios between two monomers and self-crosslinking density of DVB.

비무장지대에 인접한 경기도 농촌지역 강수의 화학적 성분에 관한 기초 연구 (A Preliminary Study on the Chemical Compositions of Precipitation in the Rural Area of Kyunggi Province near Demilitarized Zone)

  • preliminary study on the chemical compositions of forty seven precipitations from March 1994 to May 1995 In Yeoncheon-gun, which Is adjacent to the southern boundary of demilitarized zone (DMZ) in the northernmost tip of Kyunggi Province has been Performed. The metal cation and anion concentrations were measured by atomic absorption spectrometer and ion chromatography, respectively. pH/lon meter and direct nesslerization method were used for the concentration measurements of $H^+$ ion and $NH_46+$ ions, respectively Based on the data, the quantitative orders of the cation and anion average concentrations were $Ca^{2+}>NH_4^+>Na^+>K^+>Mg^{2+}>H^+ and SO_4^{2+}>Cl^-> NO_3^-$, respectively..The ratio of average total anion concentration to average total cation concentration was 0.97. The average pH value of the precipitations was 5.60. These results, correlation coefficients between the ion concentrations, and monthly variations of pH value and precipitation amount are used for chemical analysis on the environmental Pollution and Pollutant sources In Yeoncheon-gun of Kyunggi province near DMZ.
