  • Mostof existing CAD systems do not provide the advanced function for systematic checking of design and drafting errors in mechanical drawings. We have reported a computer aided drawing check system to single plane projection drawings made by a CAD system. This paper describes a checking method of dimensioning errors in mechanical drawings. The checking items are deficiency and redundancy of dimensions, input-errors in dimension figures and symbols, etc. Checking for deficiency and redundancy of global dimensions has been performed applying Graph Theory. This system has been applied to several examples and we have confirmed the feasibility of this checking method.

  • In this paper, we propose electronic attendance checking system using a bluetooth beacon in the absence of Wi-Fi or cellular networks. The proposed electronic attendance checking system uses a polling scheme where the administrator sends a request message and the attendees response using a beacon packet. Existing electronic attendance checking system requires a centralized server but the proposed method can check attendance without any external networks.

  • The gang-form widely used in apartment construction sites has advantages compared to scaffolding in preventing falling accidents. One problem, however, is that safety accidents associated with gang-form works repeatedly occur due to worker carelessness. In this study, hierarchical checking tables are provided to support safety management activities for the gang-form works at the sites. Through a survey of experts and analyses of case studies of construction accidents, 137 safety check items are classified by participant type based on a hierarchical safety check scheme. The applicability and effectiveness of the hierarchical checking tables was evaluated through interviews with experts. It was found that the hierarchical checking tables enabled each gang-form related participant to check his own safety management items, and provided a level-wise structure to site safety management systems.

  • In this paper, we present an entry-level COVID-19 stand-alone digitial signage player (CoSiP) which performs not only conventional digital signage functionalities but also fever detection, face mask wearing detection, and KI-pass QR code checking. The overall design of CoSiP is proposed, and implementation of a temperature checking algorithm using a low cost thermal sensor is elaborately presented. Through experiments over datasets and against a developed CoSiP device, it is shown that the fever detection, face mask wearing detection, KI-pass QR code checking as well as signage functionalities of the proposed CoSiP work properly and reliably.

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been adopted in variety domain of construction industry. In this circumstances, interest of BIM model quality has been increased. In many countries, automated building code checking system by Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) has been developed and studied to use web based building permission systems. IFC is international standard of BIM format. However, the data structure of IFC does not include all of objects and properties about national building codes. In this paper, we developed the information specification between IFC data structure and national building code to increase interoperability. First, we drew the criteria from literature review to analyze the building code. And then, we analyzed building code and sorted objects and properties for automated building code checking. After that we made mapping table between the sorted data and IFC specification. Using the mapping table, we developed pre-specification about building codes information that does not exist in IFC specification. And the defined information can be used to develop the BIM modeling guide and national building permission system. The pre-specification support increasing the interoperability between user and automated building code checking system. Increasing thee interoperability makes improvement accuracy and reliability about result of automated building code checking.

  • The construction of the Geographical Information System(GIS) is continuously in progress, and with the diversification and complication of the system, the importance of its audit is further deepened. At this point in time, the information system audit has been obligatory as it has been stipulated in law, and the GIS audit has come to follow the criterion of the information system audit since it belongs to the information system audit category. However, it was found that there was a difference between the current information system audit standard and the former GIS audit standard, and the audit checking items for the efficient GIS audit is necessary. For this reason, this paper surveyed the characteristics of GIS in accordance with this necessity, analyzed the GIS audit checking items found in the audit performance guideline of the GIS audit standard, and studied the GIS development methodology through the related literature. In addition, this paper also elicited and proposed the audit checking items for the efficient GIS audit based on the findings of this paper. Finally, this paper confirmed the efficiency of the GIS audit checking items proposed here through the comparison of the actual cases of GIS audits.

  • This study was conducted to examine the relationship among the error risk of high-alert medication, attitudes to single-person checking of medication, and medication safety activities. The participants were 60 nurses working in the intensive care unit. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, analysis of variance, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The mean scores of the knowledge and certainty of high-alert medication were $0.71{\pm}0.11$ and $2.74{\pm}0.59$, respectively. The mean score of the error risk of high-alert medication was $1.63{\pm}0.24$ and that of attitudes to single checking medication was $3.32{\pm}0.49$. The error risk of high-alert medication had a positive correlation with nurses' attitudes to single checking medication (r = .258, p = .047), which is correlated with the scores for certainty of knowledge (r = .284, p = .028). Based on the results of this study, continuing education for high-alert medication and the development of an accurate protocol for single checking medication are needed to improve the stability of high-alert medication.

  • Dynamically checking the integrity of software at run-time is always a hot and difficult spot for trusted computing. Control-flow integrity is a basic and important safety property of software integrity. Many classic and emerging security attacks who introduce illegal control-flow to applications can cause unpredictable behaviors of computer-based systems. In this paper, we present a software-based approach to checking violation of control flow integrity at run-time. This paper proposes a high-performance and low-overhead software control flow checking solution, control flow checking at virtual edges (CFCVE). CFCVE assigns a unique signature to each basic block and then inserts a virtual vertex into each edge at compile time. This together with insertion of signature updating instructions and checking instructions into corresponding vertexes and virtual vertexes. Control flow faults can be detected by comparing the run-time signature with the saved one at compile time. Our experimental results show that CFCVE incurs only 10.61% performance overhead on average for several C benchmark programs and the average undetected error rate is only 9.29%. Compared with previous techniques, CFCVE has the characteristics of both high fault coverage and low memory and performance overhead.

  • Recently, Productivity of the construction industry has been decreasing than other industries. Because of this, BIM is being spread in the construction industry. However, quality criteria for BIM data is insufficient. Regulation information is an important factor for initial architectural design evaluations. However, building code and related regulation are numerous. National building code structure in Korea is much more complex than other countries. The purpose of this study is to suggest the typology method of building code and apply to real regulations. To achieve this purpose, the authors have extracted required information to from original regulation for code checking and suggested mapping methods between extracted information and information of IFC scheme. In addition, the authors have represented EXPRESS-G diagram for extracting information from IFC scheme and suggested code checking method through stair case. Output of this study can be used as a base line data for automated code checking system based on open BIM. Automated code checking system will be utilized in architectural design evaluations and supported to increase design quality. It can be used to mount in SEUMTER that is the construction administration system of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).

  • Many countries have been developing BIM-based building code checking system and studies in the utilization of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) in building code checking. IFC is the open standard of BIM format. Currently, there is a disadvantage that could not include all of the attribute for the regulations of each country and there is the problem with the interoperability of the different defined IFC approach between BIM software. This study focus on developing, derived object and property by comparing through domestic regulation and IFC2x3 specification provided by the buildingSMART and classified review type depending on the interoperability of derived information. According to classified review type, the IFC data structure was established and property mapping contents were developed by including BIM software compatible information and creating a type of review plan. When the developed property mapping contents are applied into BIM-based building code checking system, checking of the BIM data generated from various fields is made effective and thus improving the interoperability of information.
