Background: Truck driving is known as one of the occupations with the highest accident rate. This study investigates the characteristics of traffic collisions according to road types (expressway and rural road). Methods: Classifying 267 accidents into expressway and rural road, we analyzed them based on driver characteristics (age, working experience, size of employment), time characteristics (day of accident, time, weather), and accident characteristics (accident causes, accident locations, accident types, driving conditions). Results: When we compared the accidents by road conditions, no differences were found between the driver characteristics. However, from the accident characteristics, the injured person distributions were different by the road conditions. In particular, driving while drowsy is shown to be highly related with the accident characteristics. Conclusion: This study can be used as a guideline and a base line to develop a plan of action to prevent traffic accidents. It can also help to prepare formal regulations about a truck driver's vehicle maintenance and driving attitude for a precaution on road accidents.

본 연구에서는 표본의 원분포 특성을 고려하여 통계처리한 경우의 설계정수와 그렇지 않은 경우를 비교하였다. 통계처리를 한 경우는 통계처리 후에도 비슷한 양상을 나타냈으며 평균값의 경우 최대 약 19%의 편차가 발생하였다. 표본의 분포 특성을 무조건 정규 분포화 하는 것은 모집단의 특성을 왜곡하게 되므로 설계정수 산정시 표본의 분포 특성을 고려하여 통계처리를 하는 것이 타당할 것으로 판단된다.

Purpose : This study attempted to find out the relationship between leadership style, knowledge transfer in nursing officers' job, considering the task characteristics. Methods : The data were collected from the military hospital during November 1st to November 17th, 2008 using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with the statistical method of frequency, correlation, and regression analysis, in SPSS 12.0 program package. Results/Conclusion : The results of empirical analysis shows that the levels of job tension and job focused task domain affect the job characteristics of the nursing officers' organization. The job characteristics have a moderating effect on the relationship between leadership style and knowledge transfer. The research is very useful in finding out the job characteristics which well depict military nursing organizations. This research suggests that a desirable leadership styles affect the knowledge transfer in the job characteristics type.

In this study, the characteristics of headwear design by John Galliano's collections had been placed under the interpreting the immanent characteristics of presented in external things. His headwear design was found to have following characteristics; ethnic forms, historical forms, natural modeling forms, artifical forms, false hair forms and abstract forms. And his headwear design was found to have folling immanent characteristics; expaned exaggeration, introduced into existing form and reconstruction, mixed with different motives, change of texture, introducing and parody by natural and artifical form, pure abstacted construction. Furthermore, it can be identified that immanent characteristics and external things are mutually linked.

In order to prepare the fuel-economic hull form design method for fine higher-speed ships, systematic theoretical and experimental study has been performed on the relation between hull form characteristics and ship's resistance and on the effect of the optimization of main hull form characteristics. The results of this study provide not only a great insight into the relation between ship's resistance and hull form characteristics, but also a proper direction of the optimization of main hull form characteristics for the improvement of ship's resistance characteristics.

The objective of this study was to investigate the correlations of marbling characteristics, including marbling score, intramuscular fat (IMF) content, and fleck traits, with meat quality traits and histochemical characteristics of the longissimus thoracis muscle from Hanwoo steers. Marbling fleck characteristics, especially area, number, and fineness (F) index, measured by computerized image analysis were strongly correlated with marbling score and IMF content (p<0.05). However, coarseness (C) index and F/C ratio were somewhat limited relationships with marbling score. In contrast, the IMF content and the number of smaller white flecks increased with increasing lightness value (p<0.05). Moreover, beef with higher marbling scores showed lower cooking loss and Warner-Bratzler shear force value compared to beef with lower marbling scores (p<0.05). Regarding the muscle bundle traits, as number of bundle increased, number of marbling flecks increased (p<0.05), although most marbling characteristics did not have significant correlation with muscle fiber or bundle characteristics.

Background: Emergency workers such as firefighters are cataloged within the most demanding and injurious professions globally. Considering the health and safety implications in firefighting, a lot of research needs to be conducted to examine how firefighters' task characteristics and their work demand influence the development of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). This study therefore examines how the task characteristics of firefighters moderates the relationship between their work demand and the development of WMSDs. Methods: Convenient sampling was employed to select 320 firefighters in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression. Results: The findings revealed that work demand and task characteristics have significant positive effects on WMSDs. Again, the task characteristics of firefighters moderates the relationship between their work demand and WMSDs. Conclusion: Since the study shows that task characteristics influences the relationship between work demand and WMSDs, it is vital for managers to constantly modify the nature of tasks performed by and work demand of emergency workers to minimize the development of WMSDs and other industrial health complications.

The effect due to group delay and non linear characteristics in high speed data satellite channel was represented in this paper. Based on the modeling of group delay and non linear characteristics the performance was analyzed in ka band satellite channel. The group delay and non-linear characteristics in high speed data transmission severely affect the system performance. The more Eb/No is required to satisfy the required system performance. The optimum operating points of HDR satellite transmission system are implemented by considering analyzed results for channel characteristics

Based on the close correlation between the optoelectronic and electrical characteristics of laser diodes, this paper is to present an exact model for electrical characteristics of laser diodes with bulk active layers so that the optoelectronic characteristics may be estimated from the electrical Characteristics. Among the considered models, the most exact model is shown to be one which uses the Fermi-Dirac integral and the bimolecular recombination and takes into account the energy-gap shrinkage with the injected carrier density.
