  • It is thought that the adsorption isotherms in dyeing of cellulose by the direct cotton dyes are consisted of combined type of Langmuir and Freundlich as the opinion of Fujino, et al;$[D]_F=ab[D]_S/(1+b[D]_S)+k[D]_S$where a,b,k; constants, $[D]_F$; dye adsorption on the fiber, $[D]_S$; dye concentration in the bath. This means that the dyes adsorbed in cellulose present in the state of partly mono molecular and partly aggregate; the characteristic fading order curve will be expressed as the combined system of uniform particle size distribution and assumed that the slope of the theoretical models of Baxter, et al., and assumed that the slope of curve will be changed near the point of a, the saturation value of Langmuir isotherms in the above equation. Firstly, the theoretical fading rate curve was treated with small colour difference as the one step of experimental of above consideration.

이중충격파형 충격시험장비를 이용한 충격시험 결과 및 분석 (The Shock-Test Result and Analysis Using Dual-Pulse Shock Testing Machine)

  • The important issue of equipment installed in maritime weapon system is shock survivability against underwater explosion(UNDEX). If the shock survivability of equipment should not be guaranteed, the successful mission also could not be achieved. For that reason, the shock-resistance of each equipment under UNDEX environment should be demonstrated before deployment at combat field. However, the actual UNDEX test on the ocean is too expensive to conduct. Also, it has diverse dangerous factors. The main characteristic of UNDEX is a dual-pulse shock. The vertical shock test machine able to simulate dual pulse shock signal on the ground will be introduced in this paper. The dual-pulse shock signal presented in certain shock standard was achieved with this shock-test machine on the ground. The analytical procedure to set a test condition was verified by comparing simulation result with experiment result.

  • The equipment is used for testing the electrical characteristics of solar cells that were connected to be a solar panel, which can be found anywhere of solar power plant. This device was built from power switch devices f3r sinking the high current of the solar panel. The processor is a controller, which controls the quantity of the current, which flow through the switching devices and collect the characteristic of the solar panel. The tester can measure the current, voltage, temperature, and light intensity, which are main factors that affect the electrical characteristics of solar cells. 12 bits resolution signal converter is used to change the measuring levels so we can change measuring levels to 4096 levels, and these data are stored in tile memory. The equipment can also calculate the maximum power of the solar system panel.

Effects of Fiber Volume Fraction and Water/Cement Ratio on Toughness Development of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete

  • Flexure toughness of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) shows a time-dependent characteristic due to the hydration process of the cement matrix in the SFRC system. The effect of two important factors, water/cement (w/c) ratio and fiber volume fraction, on the flexure toughness development of SFRC were investigated. Three different SFRC mixtures with hooked-end steel fibers were tested using a four-point bending testing configuration. Each mixture was tested at five different ages. The results showed that the post-peak toughness of SFRC developed at an earlier age than the first-crack toughness.

  • This paper presents simple schemes used to estimate the initial rotor position and the d- and q-axis inductances for effective Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA) operation in a wind-power system using an IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine). An IPMSM essentially requires an exact coordinate transformation and accurate inductance values to use a reluctance torque caused by the saliency characteristic. In the proposed high-frequency voltage testing method, there is no voltage drop caused by the resistance and the electromotive force. The initial rotor position and the inductance can be measured through an analysis of the stator current without turning the rotor. The experimental results are presented in order to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • We summarize the activities concerning to the space-borne microwave radiometer (RAD) calibration and validation (Cal/Val) in China. It is important to know in advance the brightness temperature of a given sea surface before external calibrating RAD due to its special characteristic of system. In the paper, we analyse some modeling results on sea surface emissivity and atmospheric transmissivity at different frequencies, and compare the calculated brightness temperatures with those measurements from some air-borne microwave radiometers. We also introduced the whole contents on RAD Val and developed two methods of retrieving sea surface winds. We compared the retrievals of wind speeds to those from NDBC buoys. At last, we introduce some plans of Cal/Val for testing our RAD.

Ti-42.5at.%Ni-2.0at.%Cu합금의 인장 및 압축에 따른 형상기억특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shape Memory Characteristic Behaviors of Ti-42.5at.%Ni-2.0at.%Cu Alloys in Tension and Compression Condition)

  • NiTiCu alloys can produce a large force per unit volume and operate with a simple mechanism. For this reasons, it has been widely studied for application as a micro actuator. So in this study, one-way and two way shape memory effects of Ti-42.5at%Ni-2.0at%Cu alloys are studied. In the case of one-way shape memory effects, shape memory recoverable stress and strain of this alloys were measured by means of tension and compression tests under constant temperature. The strains by tension and compression stress were perfectly recovered by heating at any testing conditions also shape memory recoverable stress increased to 116 MPa in tension tests and to 260 MPa in compression tests. In the case of two-way shape memory effects, transformation temperatures from thermal cycling under constant uniaxial applied tension and compression loads linearly increased by increasing external loads and their maximum recoverable strain is 3.8% at 100MPa tensile condition and 2.2% at 125 MPa compression condition.

  • A bypass diode is connected in parallel to solar cells with opposite polarity. The advantage of using the bypass diode is circumvented a destructive efforts of hot-spot heating in the photovoltaic(PV) module. In addition, it is possible to reduce a energy loss under the partial shading on the PV module. This paper presents a characteristic of photovoltaic module under partial shading condition and with defective bypass diode by using the experimental data. The results of field testing for each photovoltaic modules, when photovoltaic system which is connected power grid is operating, the inner junction-box temperature of shading photovoltaic module is high $5^{\circ}C$ because of difference of flowing current through into bypass diode. And incase of not operating photovoltaic system, the inner junction-box temperature of module with defective bypass diode is greatly higher than partial shading PV module.

다중-입력 PSS의 실제적인 튜닝 방법과 대형 전력 시스템에의 적용 (A Practical Tuning Method of Dual-Input PSS and its Application to Large Power System)

  • This paper describes the practical tuning method of dual-input PSS and its application to Muju P/P #2 with Proto PSS, which is based on DSP technology and uses both frequency and power. First, the model parameters of generator system used in this paper have been derived from the generator characteristic testing. Then, in the selection of PSS parameters, the Bode plot is plotted in order to tune the PSS's time constants which are able to compensate the phase lagging due to generator and excitation system. In addition, the eigenvalue analysis is also performed for determining a reliable PSS gain, $K_{s}$. Finally, the transient stability program has been utilized to verify the safe operation of Proto PSS against the predictable disturbances such as the AVR-step test and generator unloading test. In on-site test, the simulated results have been identically duplicated by implementing AVR step test in Muju P/P #2 with Proto PSS, which has the previously designed PSS parameters.s.

헬기용 와이퍼 조립체의 가속모델 및 가속수명시험 설계 연구 (A Study on Accelerated Life Testing Model and Design)

  • In the case of helicopters, the development of parts technology is rapidly changing, and the complexity is rapidly increasing. Particularly, the surge of various electric and electronic systems is recognized as a problem that is directly related to the safety of the helicopter. Due to these problems, there is a growing interest in reliability evaluation in the face of the problem of confirming and certifying the reliability of parts in the development stage. In this paper, the analysis of the failure mechanism of the wiper system was carried out, and the priority and importance of each failure mode were checked by using the results, and major stress factors were derived and the corresponding acceleration model was selected. Also, the accelerated lifetime test time was calculated according to the life test time, acceleration status and acceleration level of the steady state by using the selected acceleration model and characteristic values.
