NURBS 곡면과 면적 사상법을 이용한 T-형 압출 금형곡면의 자동생성에 관한 연구 (Investigation on the Automatic Surface Generation for Extrusion Die of T-shaped Section using NURBS Surface and Area Mapping Method)

  • In order to construct the extrusion die surface of T -shaped sections, an automatic surface construction method based on NURBS surface and area mapping method is proposed in the present work. In the present study, a center point for area mapping is determined by introducing the mapping concept based on constant area proportionality between original billet and final product. The characteristic points of inlet profile are determined using the traditional area mapping method and the root finding numerical method. The inlet and outlet profiles are precisely described with NURBS curves using the characteristic points of entry and exit sections. For the construction of NURBS surface, an interpolation method for the pre-determined two section curves has been developed to be used in the generation of interior control points and weights. To show the validity of the proposed method, automatic die surface generation is carried out for the T-shaped section and T-shaped section with rounded corners.

  • One of the major obstacles in testing or evaluating precisely the thermal behavior of a machine tool is the difficulty in measuring the heat transfer coefficients on the surfaces by a conventional method. This paper presents a new approach based on the inverse method to identify the values of heat transfer coefficients by using temperature changes measured on the surfaces of a machine tool during a short period in its operating. In the present method, a machine tool structure is modeled by the finite element method and the characteristic curves of the temperature change at several points on machine tool surfaces are theoretically derived in the form that they contain the heat transfer coefficient as an unfixed heat source are approximated so that the theoretical characteristic curves of temperature change fit the measured ones as closely as possible.

  • In this paper, drying mechanism is analyzed for improving the energy efficiency of an electric clothes dryer which consumes more electric power than other appliances. For the purpose, characteristic curves of the dryer such as temperature, relative humidity, evaporation rate, mass transfer coefficient, remaining moisture content curves are experimentally obtained. Based on the experimental results and analysis of drying mechanism, the effect of power of a heater and heat loss on the power consumption of an electric clothes dryer are systematically presented. These results demonstrate the feasibility of controlling heat loss at the heater as well as the backduct component to decrease the power consumption of an electric clothes dryer.

  • This paper presents an electrical feature analysis of hysteresis curves in memristor differential and intergral control circuit. After making macro model of the memristor device, electric characteristics of the model such as time analysis, frequency dependent DC I-V curves were performed by PSPICE simulation. Also, we made a circuit of memristor-capacitor based on nano-wired memristor device and analyzed the simulated PSPICE results. Finally, we proposed a memristor based differential or integral control circuit, analyzed hysteresis curve characteristic in the control circuit.

  • Six different types of joining between two parallel high Tc super-conducting tapes were prepared and I-V characteristic curves were obtained at the atmosphere of liquid nitrogen. Resistances in joint parts were estimated from I-V curves. We selected the best jointing method among these six methods and its availability for fabricating HTS field coils is discussed.

  • Superconductors are dissipative when exposed to time-varying magnetic fields. To analyze the AC characteristics of the superconductor, one usually needs to know magnetization curves of it. A good magnetization curves can be obtained only in a homogeneous magnetic field. In this paper, we report the fabrication and test results of a homogeneous magnet, which aims to give background magnetic fields for the superconductor.

불포화 준설매립 지반의 흙-수분 특성곡선 및 불포화 투수계수 예측 (Prediction of Soil-water Characteristic Curve and Unsaturated Permeability Coefficient of Reclaimed Ground)

  • 불포화지반에서 발생되는 부 간극수압은 함수비 변화에 따라 비선형적인 거동을 보이며, 이 관계를 흙-수분 특성곡선(soil-water characteristic curve)이라고 정의한다. 현재까지 우리나라의 흙에 대한 흙-수분 특성의 연구결과는 거의 전무한 실정이기 때문에 불포화 지반의 응력해석 및 침투해석 시, 마땅히 입력할 계수나 특성값이 없다. 본 연구에서는 준설매립지반의 주요 토사인 준설토와 모래, 그리고 복토재로 사용되는 화강풍화토에 대한 흙수분 특성시험을 실시하여 흙-수분 특성을 규명하였으며, 해석적 검증을 통하여 불포화 지반의 응력해석 및 침투해석 시 필요한 계수를 분석하였다. 또한, 입도분포곡선으로부터 흙수분 특성곡선 예측모델을 적용하고 흙수분 특성시험 결과와 비교 검토하였다. 흙-수분 특성시험결과, 세 가지 시료 모두 뚜렷한 히스테리시스 현상을 나타내었으며, 기존에 제안된 경험방정식에 실험결과를 적용한 결과 Fredlund and Xing의 경험방정식은 세 가지 시료 모두에 대하여 높은 정확도를 나타내었다. 한편, 입도분포를 이용한 예측모델은 Fredlund and Wilson의 방법이 가장 높은 정확도를 나타내었다. 흙-수분 특성시험결과와 다양한 예측모델을 통하여 불포화 투수계수를 예측하여 상호 비교한 결과, 모래와 화강풍화토는 Fredlund and Wilson의 방법, 준설토는 Arya and Paris의 예측모델이 높은 정확도를 나타내었다.
