A Study on the Correlations between Superior's Behavior and Subordinate's Personal Character (상급자의 행위와 부하의 개인적 특성간의 상관관계에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis is to analyse the correlations between superior's behavior and subordi nate's personal character. In order to do this study first, I set up a hypothesis. Second, I surveyed the result from the questionnaire to verify it on the basis of the data on the 442 employees who work at Ban-Wol Complex in Ansan City Third, I used the SPSS program. Based on the result of the research, the hypothesis is proved as follows: The result from superior's autonomy shows high subordinate's Self-esteem and Self-regulation, but result from strong superior's regulation shows low Self-esteem and Self-regulation.

  • This thesis is to analyse the correlations between parent's raising attitude and children' personal character. The way their parents raised them is divided 4 ways-devotion, hostility, autonomy and regulations. Children' personal characters are composed of Self-esteem and Self-regulation. In order to do this study first, I Set up a hypothesis. Second, I surveyed the result from the questionnaire to verify it on the basis of the data on the 442 elementary student in the fifth and sixth grade who live in the Ansan-City. Third, I used the SPSS program. Based on the result of the research, the hypothesis is proved as follows: The result from strong devotion and autonomy show high Self-esteem and Self-regulation, but those from strong hostility and regulation show low Self-esteem and Self-regulation.

  • Subject of this Study is focused on set design for short animation, GHOST, made and presented by animation studio, BEYOND PROSCENIUM. Sets in animation have several functions. First, sets are a playground that character can play to lead a story. Second, sets explain background, which is time and space. Third, sets can visualize metaphorical meaning or symbolic system in animation. To obtain final design that is sufficient to those functions, this study analyzes the case that metaphorical and symbolic meaning from scenario is how to apply into set design also, mentions the method that designer multiply considers character, property and composition from the camera and movement from those elements. Set designers for animation should have ability that simultaneously considers so many elements and they need design skills to create it.

  • This study focuses on the fact that intrinsic motivation which becomes the force to promote narrative is reinforced as a polyphonic structure through the psychodynamics of fear and desire internalized in a character, and from this perspective, it analyzes character rising strategies shown in Pixar's movie, . To verify fear and desire of a character, this study uses Enneagram personality types theory as the frame of analysis and reaches the following conclusions: (1) The main character, Carl's emotion originated from fear and desire was metaphorized as Muntz and Russell each, so the inside psychodynamics and the outer event visualizing it are set as contrapuntal composition. (2) However, inversely to the enhancement of Carl's polyphonicity, that excellent strategy works as the limit that restricts the psychodynamics of Muntz and Russell to a certain range. Lastly, it is expected that this study will be suggested as a sort of methodology about character rising strategies as turned into the database to which the result of follow-up research will be added, too.

Study on News Video Character Extraction and Recognition (뉴스 비디오 자막 추출 및 인식 기법에 관한 연구)

  • Caption information in news videos can be useful for video indexing and retrieval since it usually suggests or implies the contents of the video very well. In this paper, a new algorithm for extracting and recognizing characters from news video is proposed, without a priori knowledge such as font type, color, size of character. In the process of text region extraction, in order to improve the recognition rate for videos with complex background at low resolution, continuous frames with identical text regions are automatically detected to compose an average frame. The image of the averaged frame is projected to horizontal and vertical direction, and we apply region filling to remove backgrounds to produce the character. Then, K-means color clustering is applied to remove remaining backgrounds to produce the final text image. In the process of character recognition, simple features such as white run and zero-one transition from the center, are extracted from unknown characters. These feature are compared with the pre-composed character feature set to recognize the characters. Experimental results tested on various news videos show that the proposed method is superior in terms of caption extraction ability and character recognition rate.

Image Preprocessing in Container Identifier Recognition System Using Multiple Threshold Regions (컨테이너 식별자 영상 인식 시스템에서 다중 임계영역을 이용한 영상 전처리)

  • This paper proposes a method using the multiple threshold regions in the image preprocessing procedure for container identifier recognition system. The multiple threshold regions are set by considering the container image characteristics and used as the candidates for the final one, The image is transformed to black and white images using these threshold regions, then labeling, panelling and panels merging are executed for each candidate, respectively. Finally the best threshold region is selected through this procedure and the character region can be extracted. Applying the similar method the noises are removed and the characters of identifier are segmented from the extracted region. In the experiments with 162 different images the success rates for extracting of the character region and segmenting the characters are 99.04% and 98.09%, respectively.

  • Characters have been frequently used as a symbol or an icon in above the line advertising for generations. It has become an essential factor for companies to research about the experience that consumers have by engaging with the products that are partnered with famous or brand characters before introducing a product to the market. The character trademark has become more popular and interesting than the product itself. Therefore, products have become dependent on its character trademark. The ultimate purpose of this research is to find effective ways of increasing the value of the brand by observing various characters and how people interact with these characters, depending on the consumer's age, gender, and so forth. One would be able to collect data or information from documents as a method of this research and grasp different contents, components, concepts, and contexts of character collaboration and affiliate characters from well-known messengers, such as Kakaotalk and Line. In addition, by re-analyzing Peter Morville's Honeycomb tool, its method would set the scale of the user experience and one would be able to conduct interviews with those who are using collaboration products. This study reveals extensive guidelines for character partnership or collaboration that have been successful and creating effective marketing skills.

Regional Boundary Operation for Character Recognition Using Skeleton (골격을 이용한 문자 인식을 위한 지역경계 연산)

  • For each character constituting learning data, different fonts are added in pixel unit to create MASK, and then pixel values belonging to the MASK are divided into three groups. The experimental data are modified into skeletal forms, and then regional boundary operation is used to create a boundary that distinguishes the background region adjacent to the skeleton of the character from the background of the modified experimental data. Discordance values between the modified experimental data and the MASKs are calculated, and then the MASK with the minimum value is found. This MASK is selected as a finally recognized result for the given experiment data. The recognition algorithm using skeleton of the character and the regional boundary operation can easily extend the learning data set by adding new fonts to the given learning data, and also it is simple to implement, and high character recognition rate can be obtained.
