In this paper we embody a system that recognizes printed alphabet, numeral figures and symbols written on the keyboard for the recognition of English sentences. The image of the printed sentences is inputted and binarized, and the characters are separated by using histogram method that is the same as the existing character recognition method. During the abstraction of the individual characters, we classify one group that has not numerical information by the projection of the vertical center of the character. In case of another group that has the longer width than the height, we assort them by normalizing the width. The other group normalizes the height of the images. With the reverse application of the basic principle of the Japanese Puzzle to a normalized character image, the proposed system classifies and recognizes the printed numeral figures, symbols and characters, consequently we meet with good result.

Park Jung-hoon started his acting career in movie since undergraduate year at Chungang University, Drama and Cinema school, and till now he is a very active and nationally beloved actor in Korea. However, to this day there isn't any study about him, so this study might be the right time to take a look at his acting style again. This report will find and review his distinctive patterns in acting, and roughly assess the character expression from character, Dong-chul, in the movie, My Dear Desperado; which has been evaluated as the best movie to show the inner side of character. His acting pattern is segmented by 3 parts; Park Jung-hoon style comical acting, expression of macho side of masculinity, and subtle inner emotion expression acting. Then his acting technique is analyzed from character Dong-chul in the movie, My Dear Desperado, which he acted out change in character from low-class nonsense gangster to a good-hearted man flawlessly. In addition this report will try to find his acting technique that made impossible distance between the characters possible. This study hopes to start and continue other studies that discuss many movie actors' and actresses' different character expression method and their training technique, also wish many actors and actresses could find helpful in their acting training.

This paper propose the new method witch is adopted in extracting character features and recognizing numeric characters using fractal dimension and modified Henon Attractor of the Chaos Theory. Firstly, it gets features of mesh feature, projection feature and cross distance feature from numeric character images And their feature hi converted into time series data. Then using the modified Henon system suggested in this paper, it gets last features of numeric character image after calculating Natural Measure and information bit which art meant fractal dimension. Finally, numeric character recognition is performed by statistically finding out the each information bit showing the minimum difference against the normalized pattern database. An Experimental result shows 100% character classification rates for 10 digits and 90% of recognition rates in real situation and the recognition speed was 26 characters per second.

In this paper, we develop a virtual experimental environment to investigate users' eye gaze in human-robot social interaction, and verify it's potential for further studies. The system consists of a 3D robot character capable of hosting simple interactions with a user, and a gaze processing module recording which body part of the robot character, such as eyes, mouth or arms, the user is looking at, regardless of whether the robot is stationary or moving. To verify that the results acquired on this virtual environment are aligned with those of physically existing robots, we performed robot-guided quiz sessions with 120 participants and compared the participants' gaze patterns with those in previous works. The results included the followings. First, when interacting with the robot character, the user's gaze pattern showed similar statistics as the conversations between humans. Second, an animated mouth of the robot character received longer attention compared to the stationary one. Third, nonverbal interactions such as leakage cues were also effective in the interaction with the robot character, and the correct answer ratios of the cued groups were higher. Finally, gender differences in the users' gaze were observed, especially in the frequency of the mutual gaze.

This paper describes the design and implementation of automatic braille converter based on image processing for a person who is visually impaired. The conversion algorithm based on the image processing converts the input image obtained by the web-cam to binary image, and then calculates the cross-correlation with the stored character pattern image by labeling the character area and converts the character pattern image into the corresponding braille. The computer simulations showed that the proposed algorithm showed 95% and 91% conversion success rates for numerals and alphabets printed on A5 paper. The prototype test implemented by the servo motor using Arduino confirmed 89%, conversion performance. Therefore, we confirmed the feasibility of the automatic braille transducer.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of traditional Korean patterns appearing on fashion collections from 1990 to 2005. Traditional Korean patterns have been used as an important element to express a Korean image since the 1990s. Frequently used patterns included several kinds of geometric patterns, plant patterns(flower, peony, Four Gracious Plants), and Chinese character patterns. Specifically, since the 2000s, animal patterns such as tiger, Chinese phoenix, and giraffe which were not often used, plant patterns such as arabesque, peony, and flower, and a variety of Chinese character patterns appeared. For the expression techniques, while embroidery and printing was often used in the 1990s, they became varied into printing, beading, embroidery, gold and silver leaf, and hand painting after 2000 as a result of designers' active attempts. The aesthetic characteristics of fashion design with its focus on traditional patterns were analyzed. First, Chinese character patterns and phoenix pattern which were mainly used for a court suit, and show the excellence and unique originality of Korean culture. Second, traditional Korean patterns directly and indirectly imply symbolistic significance of lucky sign and illustrate the use of various lucky sign patterns. Third, traditional Korean patterns such as arabesque or peony were expressed by colorful embroidery to add decorative beauty. Finally, traditional Korean patterns reflect a naturalistic worldview and are completed finished as the design.

This paper designs an application for detecting various objects using a smart phone with camera sensor, then implements the application that detects the number of faces in front of a user by using the Face API provided by android and generates a speech to the user. For implementing the application, the GoF strategy pattern is applied to design the application. It provides some advantages; first, the algorithm development schedule can separate the whole application development schedule; next, it makes easier to add the algorithm. For example, another detecting algorithm for the other objects (character, motion detection) that may be developed in the future, or it may be replaced by a more high-performance algorithm. With the propose method, a general smart phone can make some advantages that can provide information of various objects (such as moving people and objects, and detected character from signboards) to the person who is visually impaired.

If we want to compare the form of two objects, the human vision takes into account the parameter's width/length/height at the same time. however, the machine needs to compare width then lengths and finally height. In each comparison the machine considers only one character. The goal of this paper is to imitate the human manner of comparison and recognition by using two or three characters instead of one during the comparison. The ellipse is a first approach of comparison because it provides us a general and a simple relation that can link two parameters that are the half axis of the ellipse. Indeed, we assimilate each character to a half axis of the ellipse and the result is a geometrical figure that varies according to values of the two characters.

The aim of this study is to obtain efficiency and guid of planning(function division oning plan, etc.) in opening plan of school facilities based on speciality of their, recognazing flow and character of needs and explanation of mechanism of school facilities needs, for make clear of mechanism of character, efficiency, speciality and formation to residents community, by investigation an analysis of facilities needs. As a part of that, this study is mainly deal with contents about analysis of use-pattern in school opening. As a main results, we can obtain a three type (Aggressive-Type, General-Type, Simple-Type) through the analisys of investigation. We expect that each type will be contribute to important factors that propose of school opening plan.

Approximately equivalent to character disorder or character neuroses or behavioral reaction. For a discussion of the term as used currently, in the 1968 revision of psychiatric nomenclature(DSM-II). In DSM-I(1952 nomenclature), this term referred to those cases in which the personality, in its struggle for adjustment to internal and external stresses, utilized primarily a pattern of action or behavior rather than symptoms in the mental, somatic or emotional spheres. There is minimal subjective anxiety and little or no sense of distress. As thus defined, there are three main groups of personality disorder, personality pattern disturbance, personality trait disturbance and sociopathic, personality disturbance. Morton Prince asks whether a subconscious process can perform the same function as are ordinarily performed by conscious intelligence that is to say memory, perception, reasoning, imagination, volition, affectivity, etc? He cites clinical material at great length, concluding that the quality of the functions performed they frequently exhibit, that which is characteristic of intelligence.
