  • Most of elementary and secondary school mathematical terms in Korean are Sino-Korean words. We check Chinese characters relating to such Sino-Korean words by using Chinese dictionaries, and critically judge how much we can understand Sino-Korean words by Chinese characters. Through this search, we classify Sino-Korean words into three categories; words which can be understood by Chinese characters, words which can not be understood by Chinese characters, words which are misunderstood by Chinese characters.

  • The primary purpose of this study was to investigate how number sense performance of sixth graders was and what every character of five components of number sense possessed by sixth graders was. For the this purpose, Two kinds of studies were conducted : a descriptive study by pencil-and-paper tests(Basic Test, Number Sense Test) and a clinical study by interviews. The conclusions drawn from the results obtained in the this study were as follows : First, students were highly scored in Basic Test but not highly scored equally in Number Sense Test. Second, students hardly used the benchmarks and lacked consideration of the reasonableness about computation results. Interview results were that students' notion about the meaning, and the greater - than and less - than relations for fractions was weak and students tended to not use number sense but apply standard algorithm and compute numbers in the question without thinking.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze domestic research trends in film costumes and to suggest future research directions. 122 articles published in 17 KCI journals from 1996 to Oct. 2013 were classified by year, journal, research method, film genre, country of film-making, analyzed subject, and contents of research. Film costume-related research was initiated in 1996 and the largest number of articles were reported in 2005~2009. Many of these researches were reported in Journal of the Korean Society Costume. Most film costume-related researches were qualitative based on co-analysis of literature and film. Film analysis was done on melodrama genre and was done Korean or American film. Large portion of the research was on costume analysis. Film costume-related research was mostly focused on character's plasticity and symbolism.

  • Correct comprehension of the scientific terms is the bottom of understanding the general concepts contained is them. Therefore a study is required to analyze whether the students correctly understand the scientific terms. The associative method was used to evaluate the comprehensibility of the terms. The scientific terms in this study are selected in the textbook of science in the junior high school were selected. The frequency of the same associative word responsed and the frequency of no response from the selected students for given scientific terms were measured for 9 different groups. The terms which are not used in the daily life, especially for the terms with chinese character or abstract terms turn out to be difficult for the students to understand. It is purposed that the instructor should remember the importance of understanding the scientific term and carefully explain them to the science class.

  • The official talks on the amendment of the Korean - Japanese Fisheries Agreement which was concluded in 1965 are under way since 1996. The convention area of the existing fisheries agreement is the high sea, but it should be changed to the exclusive economic zone(EEZ) for the newly amended fisheries agreement. Accordingly, the fundamental policies to be embodied within the amended fisheries agreement are summarized as follows : 1. One of the basic doctrine of the new agreement should be the formulation of a device of international cooperation for the fishery development as well as the conservation and management of the fishery resources. 2. The preparation of the future-oriented international relationship which reflects the specific character of the fishery relationship between both countries. 3. The existing fishery results of both parties should be protected on the ground of the reciprocity principle. 4. Both parties should reach an agreement upon the joint conservation and management measures for the transboundary fishery resources. 5. In consideration of the difficulty of EEZ delimitation between both countries, a provisional fisheries agreement can be an alternative measure.

  • The purpose of the study was to develop evaluation methods which would measure student achievement and progress without traditional paper-pencil tests such as mid-term and final examinations. More specifically, the main research focus were to establish general directions of student assessment during free semester, to build evaluation models supporting student's participation and learning, and to report and record various student evaluation results. As research results, we found that student evaluation of free semester should be organized to improve a) experience learning activity, self-regulatory and collaboratory study, b) high-order thinking ability and character-building, and c) teacher-student-parent cooperation. Since traditional paper-pencil tests were restricted in free semester, student achievement should be provided by a way of performance descriptions on transcripts rather than quantitative grade points. Student performance descriptions had to show not only subject knowledge but also students efforts, motivation, and participation. These multiple and educationally meaningful information would be collected by teacher-student-parent communication and collaboration.

  • The major purpose of this study is to show the insufficiency of traditional epistemology and consructivism as epistemology of mathematics education. Traditional epistemology such as empiricism, rationalism, Kant's epistemology, and Piaget's genetic epistemology is not sufficient to explain episteme in educational situation because it regards that epsteme is the phenomenon occurs between the abstract individual subject and the object world. Modern epistemology like constructivism recognize the public or social character of epsteme. So it is more appreciate than traditional epistemology to explain episteme in math educational situation. But constructivist pedagogy derived from constructivist learning theory has the following important shortcoming: The lack of clear criteria by which instructional effectiveness might be evaluated from a constructivist perspective.

  • The structurally rigid $\alpha$-(o-alkylphenyl) acetophenone derivatives lacking $\beta$-hydrogens, 3,3-dimethyl-2-o-tolylibdan-1-one and 2-o-tolyl-benzofuran-3-one, were prepared and their photochemical behaviors were examined. The former did not give any photoproduct while the latter turned into its enol tautomer. The difference of reactivity of two ketones was attributed to aromatic character of the extol of the benzofuranone. It was concluded that the reaction occurred via photoinduced 1,3-H transfer.

By the survey questionnaire, three factors selected from 14 questionnaire by factor analysis in the college environmental character. Those factors ware analyzed to estimate the results of this study. And the effect and type of word of mouth communication surveyed by one questionnaire respectively. The major results of this study are as follow; First, the factors that effected on satisfaction of students are the distinction of sex, the division of major field and the distinction of college. But the academic grade factor is not available, Second, the factors of tutors/curriculums and education support service effected on satisfaction of students in campus life, but the factor of education convenience facility is not. Finally, the effect and communication of word of mouth resulted in effectiveness for on satisfaction of students in campus life.
