Character recognition has already been studied in a lot of fields. But, if input-characters have noise in practical application system, the ability decreases markedly. Special consideration should be taken into account in the recognition of blurred data. This paper proposes low-quality printed character recognition methods that extracts blurred parts of the character image, deletes them and carry out accurate character recognition.

Mobility in housing is a normative way to satisfy family needs for· better· living conditions. In the context of relative decisions. mobility can be understood as forced relocation or unforced relocation In making relocation. the household chooses a particular 'environmental quality profile. Therefore. the understanding of mobility and relocation in housing is needed for· the developing and planning of housing evnironment. The major findings are s follows ;1. The motives of mobility are composed of 4 factors('material porseperity’, 'convenience· safety'. environmental improvement' and 'forced relocation'). Especially, 'material prosperity' was defined the most fundamental factor· for. 2. The components of housing environment quality were composed of 3 factors related to the scale of home environment. They were 'neighborhood character factor', 'dwelling character· factor·'. And 'location character· factor'. The factor 'neighborhood character' was defined the basic factor· to choose for the housing environmental quality profile.3. It was examined that the motives of mobility and the components of home environmental quality were significantly different by the household characteristics (income. family life cycle. and tenure type).

This paper proposes a character segmentation method for Korean letter address image. The poor quality of image binarization results in broken character strokes. To overcome this problem, two steps of processing ate introduced. The first one is to merge broken characters to generate character candidates, and the other one is to reduce the complexity of segmentation graph path. These two steps do not use recognition information to keep in high-speed.

This study had a focus on service quality, customer satisfaction and relationship orientation. The subjects of this study were: 1) to examine the conceptual structure of service quality perceived by males consumers of character clothing brands, 2) to examine of the service quality on customer satisfaction, and 3)to examine relationship between customer satisfaction and relationship orientation. The questionnaire was collected between October, 28 and November, 8 in 2002. Samples of 271 respondents were obtained. The sample consisted of males in their twenties and thirties who had a experience on buying character clothing brands in Seoul. To analyze the data, reliability analysis, percentage, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were applied. The results were as followings: 1) As a result of factor analysis, the service quality were identified by four dimensions: environmental service, personal service, products service, and promotion service. 2) As a result of correlation analysis and regression analysis, the service quality had a positive influence on customer satisfaction. Especially products service was the most important factor for customer satisfaction, followed by environmental service. 3) As a result of correlation analysis, customer satisfaction had a positive influence on relationship orientation.

The aim of this study was to investigate QoL (quality of life) of patients with esophageal cancer in northern Henan province, China, and to accurate evaluate and reflect the relationship between patient characteristics and QoL. In the high risk area of esophageal cancer in the north of Henan province, 735 patients with esophageal cancer were investigated. The Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ) and QoL were analyzed by using the questionnaire of general situation, EPQ, QLQ-C30 and QLQ-OES18. The effects of personal character on the QoL of esophageal carcinoma patients were analyzed by SPSS 11.0 software. The QoL of esophageal cancer patients in Northern Henan region was significantly affected by character. The difference between choleric and type of melancholic temperament types was significant (P<0.01), also in OESEAT, OESTA, OESCO and OESSP (P<0.05). Differences in personal character can thus influence the quality of esophageal cancer patient lives.

This study is focusing on typicalized character make-up of TV Drama characters. The purpose of this study is to analyze the interconnections of its images and impressiology concretely, and then reflect on an application approach of impressiology. The aim of make-up lies in not only helping actors to visualize their own external qualities, appropriate the quality of a play, but also audience and spectators to be immersed in the concrete fact of i character person. Impressiology will be a data to give the understanding and sympathy of make-up work. I would like to utilize character make-up based on impressiology for creative and effective make-up techniques, and make it a typicalized character. Also I will examine the horizon of a new make-up technique through character development according to the demandes of the times. As a result of this study, we find that expression method of characteristic character generalized representatively is the common quality of impressiologistc image. Also we see that such a impressioiogistic image is useful for the fundamental basis of character expression method.

Off-line handwritten character recognition is in difficulty of incomplete preprocessing because it has not dynamic and timing information besides has various handwriting, extreme overlap of the consonant and vowel and many error image of stroke. Consequently off-line handwritten character recognition needs to study about preprocessing of various methods such as binarization and thinning. This paper considers running time of watershed algorithm and the quality of resulting image as preprocessing For off-line handwritten Korean character recognition. So it proposes application of effective watershed algorithm for segmentation of character region and background region in gray level character image and segmentation function for binarization image and segmentation function for binarization by extracted watershed image. Besides it proposes thinning methods which effectively extracts skeleton through conditional test mask considering running time and quality. of skeleton, estimates efficiency of existing methods and this paper's methods as running time and quality. Watershed image conversion uses prewitt operator for gradient image conversion, extracts local minima considering 8-neighborhood pixel. And methods by using difference of mean value is used in region merging step, Converted watershed image by means of this methods separates effectively character region and background region applying to segmentation function. Average execution time on the previous method was 2.16 second and on this paper method was 1.72 second. We prove that this paper's method removed noise effectively with overlap stroke as compared with the previous method.

The effect of cultivation season on the cocoon filament quality of authorized silkworm variety, GoldenSilk was examined with cocoon filament character, reeling character, and fiber character during 3 years. In cocoon filament character, filament length of spring and autumn cocoon was 979 and 879 m, respectively. Cocoon filament weight of spring and autumn cocoon was 33.1 and 26.5 cg, which is lower than that of general bivoltine strain, BaeGokJam. Raw silk percentage of spring and autumn cocoon was 15.65 and 13.77%, respectively. In reeling character, reelability showed similar trend regardless of cultivation season and strain. However, the length and weight of non-broken filament of spring season were slightly higher than those of autumn cocoon. Cultivation season did not affect on the fiber characteristics such as clearness and neatness, lousiness, and degumming loss. In cocoon character, filament length, size, and weight, spring cocoon filament showed higher value than autumn cocoon, but lower than authorized general silkworm varieties. In reeling characteristics, non-broken length and weight showed the similar trends with the cocoon filament character. However, the reelability of GoldenSilk cocoon was not affected by cultivation season. The reelability of GoldenSilk cocoon was also similar with that of authorized general one. Fiber character including clearness and neatness, lousiness, and degumming loss was also similar regardless of the rearing season and different strain.

영상의 이진화는 영상을 물체와 배경으로 구분하는 전처리 과정으로써 처리해야 할 대상이 되는 물체를 규정짓기 위한 매우 중요한 처리 과정이다. 본 논문에서는 저 품질 문자 영상에서 효과적인 문자 인식을 위한 효율적인 이진화 방법 및 획 영상 재구성 방법을 제안하다. 먼저 전역적 이진화 방법의 장점과 지역적 이진화 방법의 장점을 반영하여 문자 영역에 대한 이진화를 수행한 다음 이진화된 획 영상에 대한 분석을 통해 획에 붙어 있는 획 잡영 제거와 획 부분에 파여진 공백 잡영에 대한 채움 과정을 수행하여 고 품질의 획 영상으로 재구성하였다. 제안하는 문자 영상을 위한 이진화 알고리즘은 적응적인 임계값 선택 방법에 의해 속도와 성능의 효율성을 추구할 수 있도록 하였으며 이진화 결과로 인한 획 표면 잡영에 대해 단계적인 제거 과정을 수행하여 획 영상을 재구성함으로써 고 품질의 이진 영상을 획득할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate a specific character on products of American-cotton(Kobong) with cultivated in Sinbong-dong, Sangju City from 1997 to 2003 years. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The Kobong cotton of producted in Sangju city was superior in quality than Korean-cotton. 2. The cotton producted in 1998, 2002 and 2003 was inferior in quality than the anther producted cotton. The reasons was a heavy rain at 1998, Rusa typhoon at 2002 and Maemi typhoon at 2003 in sangju city. But Kobong-cotton was superior in quality than the Korean-cotton. Since it is so, Kobong(New improved variety of American-cotton) was superior in quality than the another kinds(Korean-cotton) from producted of cotton fibers
