  • 기저대역 채널선택 필터는 외부의 잡음이나 공정상의 변화에 따라 각각의 통신 채널을 선택하기 위해 인가되는 제어 전압이 변동될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 제어 전압을 일정하게 유지시키기 위해, 전류의 흐름을 감지하여 채널선택 필터의 차단주파수가 자동으로 조정되어 필터 동작이 원활하게 유지되면서 최소 면적을 갖는 전류 비교 방식 전압 안정화 회로를 설계하였다.

  • This paper describes a low-voltage and low-power channel selection analog front end with continuous-time low pass filters and highly linear programmable-gain amplifier(PGA). The filters were realized as balanced Gm-C biquadratic filters to achieve a low current consumption. High linearity and a constant wide bandwidth are achieved by using a new transconductance(Gm) cell. The PGA has a voltage gain varying from 0 to 65dB, while maintaining a constant bandwidth. A filter tuning circuit that requires an accurate time base but no external components is presented. With a 1-Vrms differential input and output, the filter achieves -85dB THD and a 78dB signal-to-noise ratio. Both the filter and PGA were implemented in a 0.18um 1P6M n-well CMOS process. They consume 3.2mW from a 1.8V power supply and occupy an area of $0.19mm^2$.

  • A multiple output dc-dc resonant converter topology for an independent voltage control technique is proposed, using a narrow frequency selection band-pass filters. The multi-output converter is supplied by a single source inverter with the superposed sinusoidal signals reserved for each output. A series-series parallel resonant topology is utilized to implement the narrow frequency selection channels for minimum interference. Finally the experimental setup for four output dc-dc converter is verified with the narrow channel frequencies of 26 kHz, 32 kHz, 38 kHz and 46 kHz.

40MHz의 대역폭과 개선된 선형성을 가지는 Active-RC Channel Selection Filter (Active-RC Channel Selection Filter with 40MHz Bandwidth and Improved Linearity)

  • 본 논문에서는 40MHz의 대역폭과 개선된 선형성을 가지는 active-RC channel selection filter (CSF)가 제안된다. 제안되는 CSF는 5차 butterworth 필터로써 한 단의 1차 low pass 필터와 두 단의 biquad 기반의 2차 low pass 필터, 그리고 DC offset 제거를 위한 DC 피드백 회로로 구성된다. CSF의 선형성을 개선하기 위해 스위치로 사용되는 MOSFET의 body를 source 노드로 연결한다. 설계된 CSF의 대역폭은 10MHz, 20MHz, 그리고 40MHz로 선택될 수 있으며, 전압 이득은 0dB에서 24dB까지 6dB의 단위로 조정된다. 제안된 CSF는 1.2V 40nm의 1-poly 8-metal CMOS 공정에서 설계된다. 설계된 CSF가 40MHz의 대역폭과 0dB의 gain을 가질 때, OIP3는 31.33dBm이고 in-band ripple은 1.046dB, IRN는 39.81nV/sqrt(Hz)로 시뮬레이션 검증되었다. CSF의 면적과 전력소모는 각각 $450{\times}210{\mu}m^2$와 6.71mW 이다.

  • In active noise control filter, LMS algorithms which used for control filter, assure the convergence property, and computational burden of these algorithms are proportionate to the filter taps. The convergence speed of LMS algorithms is mainly determined by value of the convergence coefficient, so optimal selection of the value of convergence coefficient is very important. In this paper, We proposed novel adaptive fuzzy logic LMS algorithms with FIR filter structure which has better convergence speed and less computational burden than conventional LMS algorithms, for single channel active noise control with ill conditioned signal case. Computer simulations were performed to show the effectiveness of a proposed algorithms.

Optical and Near-IR Photometry of the NGC 4874 Globular Cluster System with the Hubble Space Telescope

  • We present our study of analyzing the photometric properties of the globular cluster (GC) system which resides in the extended halo of the central bright Coma cluster galaxy NGC 4874. The core of the Coma cluster of galaxies (Abell 1656) was observed with both the HST Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) in the F475W (g475) and F814W (I814) and Wide Field Camera 3 IR Channel (WFC3/IR) in the F160W (H160) filters. The data analysis procedure and GC candidate selection criteria are briefly described. We investigate the interesting "tilt" features in color-magnitude diagrams for this GC system and their link to the nonlinear color-metallicity relation for GCs. The NGC 4874's GC system exhibits a bimodal distribution in the optical g475-I814 color and much more than half the GCs fall in the red side at g475-I814 ~ 1.1. This bimodality is weakened in the optical-IR I814-H160 color; the quantitative analysis on the features of both color distributions using the Gaussian Mixture Modeling code proves the bimodalities are different. Both colors, thus, cannot linearly reflect the bimodality of an underlying metallicity, supporting the suggestion that observed bimodalities in extragalactic GC colors are the metallicity-to-color projection effect.
