  • To optimize the shape of the electrostatic precipitator for the removal of particulate matter in subway environments, the wind-tunnel experiments were carried out to characterize collection efficiency and ozone emission rate. As a standardized parameter, power consumption divided by the square of flow velocity, was increased, the $PM_{10}$ collection efficiency increased. If the standardized parameter is higher than 1.0 due to high power consumption or low flow velocity, increase in thickness of electrodes from 1 to 2 mm, or increase in distance of collection plates from 5 to 10 cm did not change the $PM_{10}$ collection efficiency much. Increase in thickness of high-voltage electrodes, however, can cause decrease in $PM_{10}$ collection efficiency by 28% for low power consumption and high flow velocity. The ozone emission rate decreased as distance of collection plates became wider, because the ozone emission rate per unit channel was constant, and the number of collection channels decreased as the distance of collection plates increased. When the distance of collection plates was narrow, the ozone emission rate increased with the increase of the thickness of electrodes, but the difference was negligible when the distance of collection plates was wide. It was found that the electrostatic precipitator having a thin high-voltage electrodes and a narrow distance of collection plates is advantageous. However, to increase the thickness of high-voltage electrodes, or to increase the distance of collection plates is needed, it is necessary to increase the applied voltage or reduce the flow rate to compensate reduction of the collection efficiency.

  • Development of vegetation in stream channel increases resistance to flow, resulting in increase in river stage upon flood and affecting change in stage-discharge relationship. Vegetation revealed in stream by water level reaching a peak and then declined upon flood is mostly found as prone. Taking an account of flow distribution with the number of vegetation, prone vegetation layer might be at height where discharge rate is zero (0) (Stephan and Guthnecht, 2002). However, there is a tendency that flow rate is overestimated when applying the height of river bed to flow area with no consideration of the height of vegetation layer in flow rate by float measurement. In this study, reliable flow measurement in stream with vegetation was calculated by measuring the height of vegetation layer after flood and excluding the vegetation layer-projected area from the flow area. The result showed the minimum 4.34 % to maximum 10.82 % of flow deviation depending on the scale of discharge. Accordingly, reliable velocity-area methods would be determined if vegetation layer-projected area in stream is considered in flow rate estimation using the flow area during the flood.

  • In this paper, we propose an improved facial skin color extraction method to solve the problem that facial surface is lost due to shadow or illumination in skin color extraction process and skin color extraction is not possible. In the conventional HSV method, when facial surface is brightly illuminated by light, the skin color component is lost in the skin color extraction process, so that a loss area appears on the face surface. In order to solve these problems, we extract the skin color, determine the elements in the H channel value range of the skin color in the HSV color space among the lost skin elements, and combine the coordinates of the lost part with the coordinates of the original image, To minimize the number of In the face detection process, the face was detected using the LBP Cascade Classifier, which represents texture feature information in the extracted skin color image. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the detection rate and accuracy by 5.8% and 9.6%, respectively, compared with conventional RGB and HSV skin color extraction and face detection using the LBP cascade classifier method.

  • In 1998, Kocher et al. introduced Differential Power Attack on block ciphers. This attack allows to extract secret key used in cryptographic primitives even if these are executed inside tamper-resistant devices such as smart card. At FSE 2003 and 2004, Akkar and Goubin presented several masking methods, randomizing the first few and last few($3{\sim}4$) rounds of the cipher with independent random masks at each round and thereby disabling power attacks on subsequent inner rounds, to protect iterated block ciphers such as DES against Differential Power Attack. Since then, Handschuh and Preneel have shown how to attack Akkar's masking method using Differential Cryptanalysis. This paper presents how to combine Truncated Differential Cryptanalysis and Power Attack to extract the secret key from intermediate unmasked values and shows how much more efficient our attacks are implemented than the Handschuh-Preneel method in term of reducing the number of required plaintexts, even if some errors of Hamming weights occur when they are measured.

  • In order to avoid the spread of Covid-19, outdoor activities are decreasing worldwide and the time spent at home is increasing. As physical activity declines, the number of people who feel bored, restless and immune deficient is increasing. As indoor life becomes more permanent, multiple approaches to home workout are becoming active. This paper examines how the Covid blue (boredom and social anxiety) produced in the no-touch era affects quality of life through the use of home training applications. Questionnaires were collected from Chinese people using a website dedicated to Chinese questionnaires, and finally 383 appropriate data were analyzed using SPSS24.0 and AMOS24.0. The research results showed that the actual experience of using home workout had a positive impact on quality of life. The higher the user's sense of social unease about being late in the untact, It was found that the higher the social anxiety perceived by users about the untact era, the higher the interactivity and exercise satisfaction with the home workout app. Home workout application can improve exercise satisfaction and quality of life, which are more positive effects beyond the result of resolving consumers' boredom. Therefore, it can be used as a channel for digital services.

  • Purpose - This paper empirically investigates the predictors and main determinants of consumers' ratings of mobile applications in the Google Play Store. Using a linear and nonlinear model comparison to identify the function of users' review, in determining application rating across countries, this study estimates the direct effects of users' reviews on the application rating. In addition, extending our modelling into a sentimental analysis, this paper also aims to explore the effects of review polarity and subjectivity on the application rating, followed by an examination of the moderating effect of user reviews on the polarity-rating and subjectivity-rating relationships. Design/methodology - Our empirical model considers nonlinear association as well as linear causality between features and targets. This study employs competing theoretical frameworks - multiple regression, decision-tree and neural network models - to identify the predictors and main determinants of app ratings, using data from the Google Play Store. Using a cross-validation method, our analysis investigates the direct and moderating effects of predictors and main determinants of application ratings in a global app market. Findings - The main findings of this study can be summarized as follows: the number of user's review is positively associated with the ratings of a given app and it positively moderates the polarity-rating relationship. Applying the review polarity measured by a sentimental analysis to the modelling, it was found that the polarity is not significantly associated with the rating. This result best applies to the function of both positive and negative reviews in playing a word-of-mouth role, as well as serving as a channel for communication, leading to product innovation. Originality/value - Applying a proxy measured by binomial figures, previous studies have predominantly focused on positive and negative sentiment in examining the determinants of app ratings, assuming that they are significantly associated. Given the constraints to measurement of sentiment in current research, this paper employs sentimental analysis to measure the real integer for users' polarity and subjectivity. This paper also seeks to compare the suitability of three distinct models - linear regression, decision-tree and neural network models. Although a comparison between methodologies has long been considered important to the empirical approach, it has hitherto been underexplored in studies on the app market.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the angle-limit of the escape ramp by analyzing the frog behavior characteristics according to the inclination angle of the waterway escape ramp installed in the concrete U-bench plume pipe channel. Forthe experiment, an escape test device was manufactured with the same shape and number of materials applied in the field. And Rana coreana living in paddy wetlands were sel selected. The main behaviors of frogs on the slope were 'jumping', 'crawling' and 'slipping', and afterrecording the behavioralresults according to the inclination angle, statistical analysis was conducted using the chi-square test method. As a result of the analysis, there was no statistically significant difference between 30° and 40°. This result is an evidence for expanding the standard of inclination angle 30° suggested in the 'Guidelines for Installation and Management of Ecological Pathways' to a maximum of 40°. However, further research is required in that the escape ramp targets not only Korean frogs but also various small wild animals. However, considering that various wild animals are affected by artificial canals, additional studies using various target wild animals are needed.

  • Analog-based streamers for ultra-high-resolution seismic surveys are capable of additional noise ingress in water, but the specifications cannot be expanded through interconnections. Foreign-produced digital streamers have been introduced and used primarily at domestic research institutes; however, the cost is high and smooth maintenance is challenging. This study investigates the localization of ultra-high-resolution digital streamers capable of high-resolution imaging of a geological structure. A digital streamer capable of 24-bit, 10 kHz digital sampling of up to 64 channel data was developed through research and development. Various quantitative specifications of the system were designed and developed close to the benchmark model, Geometrics' GeoEel streamer, and the number of modules that make up the system was drastically reduced, reducing development costs and making it easier to use. The field applicability of the developed streamer system was evaluated in an in situ experiment conducted in the waters around the Port of Yeong-il Bay in Pohang in April 2022.

  • Based on the actual shape of the detector and the data provided by the manufacturer, the shape of the detector was implemented through Penelope simulation and applied to the appropriate four-layer thickness based on the efficiency obtained from the measurements. Efficiency calculations to determine the effect of the simulated number of Full Energy Peak Efficiency(FEPE) channels in the detector and the outside contact layer in the crystal on the Full Energy Peak Efficiency were performed for various four-layer thicknesses of 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0, 1.2, and 1.4 mm using the Penelope Code. When the thickness of the external contact layer was increased by 5 times, the Full Energy Peak Efficiency decreased by about 36% for 59.50 keV, and the Full Energy Peak Efficiency decreased by 10% for 1836. In addition, as it increased by 10 times, the Full Energy Peak Efficiency decreased by about 20% for 59.54 keV, and 7% for 1836.01 keV. The Penelope simulated Full Energy Peak Efficiency channel decreases exponentially with the increase in the four layers. In addition, it was confirmed that the total effect curve was well matched with a relative difference of less than 3.5% in the 0.3-1.4 mm dead layer thickness region. However, it was found that the inhomogeneous dead layer is still a parameter in the Monte Carlo model.

  • Recently, the number of SNS user has rapidly increased due to smart device industry development and also the amount of generated data is exponentially increasing. In the twitter, Text data generated by user is a key issue to research because it involves events, accidents, reputations of products, and brand images. Twitter has become a channel for users to receive and exchange information. An important characteristic of Twitter is its realtime. Earthquakes, floods and suicides event among the various events should be analyzed rapidly for immediately applying to events. It is necessary to collect tweets related to the event in order to analyze the events. But it is difficult to find all tweets related to the event using normal keywords. In order to solve such a mentioned above, this paper proposes A Generation and Matching Method of Normal-Transient Dictionary for realtime topic detection. Normal dictionaries consist of general keywords(event: suicide-death-loop, death, die, hang oneself, etc) related to events. Whereas transient dictionaries consist of transient keywords(event: suicide-names and information of celebrities, information of social issues) related to events. Experimental results show that matching method using two dictionary finds more tweets related to the event than a simple keyword search.
