In this paper for simulating spatially and temporally varied moving storm in a watershed a distributed model was developed. The model is conducted by two major flow simulations which overland flow simulation and channel network flow simulation. Two dimensional continuity equation and momentum equation of kinematic approximation are used in the overland flow simulation. On the other hand, in the channel networks simulation two types of governing equations which are one dimensional continuity and momentum equations between two adjacent sections in a channel, and continuity and energy equations at a channel junction are applied. The finite element formulations were used in the overland flow simulation and the implicit finite difference formulations were used in the channel network simulation. The finite element formulations for the overland flow are analyzed by the Gauss elimination method and the finite difference formulations for the channel network flow are analyzed by the double sweep method having advantages of computational speed and reduced computer storages. Several recurrent coefficient equations for channel network simulation are suggested in the paper.
In natural river, river-bed change is greatly influenced by the various factors such as river improvement, change of watershed land use, construction of dam and reservoir, gravel mining, and so on. The knowledge about river-bed change in the river is essential in the river modification, wetlands plan, and maintaining stable alluvial rivers. In this study, river-bed change in the future was predicted by investigating river channel characteristics which play dominant role in the formation of channel and based on the numerical model through river survey and the grain size analysis. The Proposed investigation and model was applied to the Geum river and the Miho stream which have been experienced river degradation due to river aggregate dredging and now seams to be stable. The result of potential river-bed change which was estimated by investigating channel characteristic including slope of channel, friction velocity, and so on is similar to that which was estimated based on the numerical model. It was found that the Geum river and the Miho stream will be stable. In the future, if considering the characteristics of river channel which is estimated by the river-bed scour, sediment, and so on, it is possible that river improvement and wetland restoration plan are established stably and naturally.

In this paper, we propose a generalized vector channel model for wireless communication systems using antenna arrays. The proposed channel model reflects path loss. spatial-temporal variation of shadowing, multipath fading , Doppler effect, spatial distribution of local scatterers and delay spread due to remote dominant scatterers. In addition, we use a discrete ray model in which respective ray signal experiences independent shadowing, fading and Doppler shift, and impinges on antenna arrays at a distinct angle. Based on the proposed mode. we derive the relations on the spatial and temporal correlations of the received signals and implement a spatial channel simulator. By comparing the theoretical values with the simulated ones, we verify the effectiveness of the implemented simulator. The simulator is then used to generate an arbitrary channel impulse response and to analyze the channel characteristics under various environments.
In this study, one and semi-two dimensional numerical models were applied to study on the hydraulic and sedimentologic characteristics of upstream and downstream channel section near the Buyeo intake towers. The HEC-6 model was applied for the simulation of one dimensional sediment movement from 1988 to 1996, and GSTARS model was applied for the simulation of semi-two dimensional sediment movement for the same period. After the verification of accuracy of HEC-6 and GSTARS models, the models were applied again to predict the sediment movement near intake towers from 1988 to 2001. In this case, measured channel section of 1988 was used as an initial channel condition, and used to predict the long-term variation of channel section of 2001 after 13 years since 1988. The simulation results show that the channel bed is sedimented and eroded repeatedly in the main channel of overall study area, and that channel bed is getting elevated in the near Buyeo intake towers.

In this paper, subthreshold swing characteristics have been presented for double-gate MOSFETs, using the analytical model based on series form of potential distribution. Subthreshold swing is very important factor for digital devices because of determination of ON and OFF. In general, subthreshold swings have to be under 100mV/dec. The channel length $L_g$ is varied from 30nm to 100nm, and channel thickness $t_{si}$ from 15 to 20nm according to channel length, and oxide thickness 5nm to investigate subthreshold swing. The doping of channel is fixed with $10^{16}cm^{-3}$ p-type. The results show good agreement with numerical simulations, confirming this model.

The conventional modeling equations for planar MOSFET can not be directly used for zero or minus junction depth concave MOSFET. In this paper, we suggest a new model which can simulate the electrical characteristics of concave MOSFET. The threshold voltage modeling was achieved using the charge sharing method considering the relative difference of source and drain depletion widths. To analyze the ID-VDS characteristics, the conventional expressions for planar MOSFET were employed with the electrical channel length as an effective channel length and the channel length modulation factor as ${\alpha}$ΔL. By comparing the proposed model with experimental results, we could get reasonably similar curves and we proposed a concave MOSFET conditiion which shows no short channel effect of threshold voltage(V${\gamma}$).
Staggered dimples printed on opposite walls of an internal cooling channel are formulated numerically and optimized to enhance heat transfer performance. Nusselt number and friction factor based objectives are considered and a weighted average surrogate model is used to approximate the data generated by numerical simulation. The dimpled channel shape is defined by three geometric design variables, and the design point within design space are selected using Latin hypercube sampling. A weighted-sum method for multi-objective optimization is applied to integrate multiple objectives into a single objective. By the optimization, the objective function value is improved largely and heat transfer rate is increase much higher than pressure loss increase due to shape deformation. Channel with vertically non-symmetric optimum dimples is tested and found that the best appears if dimples on opposite wall are displaced by one quarter of dimple spacing.

Previous papers analyzed the throughput performance of the CDMA ALOHA system in Rayleigh fading channel, but they assume that the channel coefficient of Rayleigh fading was the same in the whole packet, which is not realistic. We recently proposed the finite-state Markov channel (FSMC) model to the throughput analysis of DS uncoded CDMA/unslotted ALOHA networks for fixed length data traffic in the mobile environment. We now propose the FSMC model to the throughput analysis of coded DS CDMA/unslotted ALOHA networks with variable length data traffic and one or two user classes in the mobile environment. The proposed DS CDMA/unslotted ALOHA wireless networks for two user classes with access control can maintain maximum throughput for the high priority user class under high message arrival per packet duration.

In this paper, a recursive digital filter realization for an ionospheric channel model is proposed. This realization is in the form of a cascade of identical second-order all-pass filters, and is determined by only three parameters; two coefficients of an all-pass section, and the number of sections. The values of these parameters are optimized by a nonlinear optimization algorithm called the "downhill simplex method", so that the resulting time delay function closely approximates that of the ionospheric channel model. Comparing with the nonrecursive digital filter realization, it can be shown that the proposed recursive-digital-filter-realization is advantageous in points of view for the numbers of filter coefficients and the realization.

In this paper, we analyze the performance of RAKE receiver for impulse radio-ultra wide band (IR-UWB) systems in indoor multipath radio channel. Pulse position modulation-time hopping (PPM-TH) signal is considered. And we also consider three types of RAKE receivers, which are ideal RAKE, selective RAKE, and partial RAKE receivers. The indoor channel is modeled as the modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) model which has been proposed as a UWB channel model by the IEEE group, IEEE 802.15.SG3a.
