Abnormal climate caused by climate change causes enormous social and economic damage. And such damage and its impact may vary depending on the location and regional characteristics of the region and the social and economic conditions of local residents. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor whether there are indicators that are weaker than other regions among the detailed indicators that constitute the risk, exposure and vulnerability of climate change risk. In this study, the concept of climate change risk was used for heatwave to determine regional inequality of climate change risk. In other words, it was judged that inequality in climate change risk occurred in regions with high risk but high exposure and low vulnerability compared to other regions. As a result of the analysis, it was found that 13 local governments in Korea experienced regional inequality in climate change risk. In order to resolve regional inequality in climate change risks, the current status of regional inequality in climate change should be checked based on the analysis proposed in this study, there is a need for an evaluation and monitoring system that can provide appropriate feedback on areas where inequality has occurred. This continuous evaluation and monitoring-based feedback system is expected to be of great help in resolving regional inequality in climate change risks.
Punch awakens the audience of necessity of social change related to the poverty and prejudice toward the underprivileged. However Bourdieu claims individuals such as Dong-Ju Lee can not change existing dominant order even if they struggle for social change. In particular, laughter effect and romantic gaze as a commercial strategy on Punch become mechanism for maintaining the symbolic violence. And this is soon to be recognized as legitimate victims of violence themselves, as Bourdieu has argued that maintaining social order and reproduction by collusion are possible.
In order to analysis the variation in vegetation area caused by topographical change at Jinudo in the Nakdong estuary, we used aerial photographs of Jinudo from 1998 to 2006. To extract an accuracy shoreline from these aerial photographs, a tide calibration was performed. We also estimated the annual variation in topographic area and vegetation area, and then analyzed the relationship between them by a correlation analysis. The following results were obtained: 1) The calibrated shoreline distance of Jinudo from 1998 to 2006 was estimated to have a range of (-)1,927 cm to (+)4,671 cm. 2) Annual changes in the topographic area and vegetation area in Jinudo have been increasing gradually from 1998, and the correlation coefficient between topographic area and vegetation area is 0.97. 3) The estimated topographic areas were with following order: southern (III), eastern (IV), northern (II) and western (I), while for the vegetation area, the order was southern (III), northern (II), eastern (IV) and western (I). 4) The vegetation area of the southern region (III) of Jinudo had the largest size among the regions, and was calculated to be $4.3{\sim}5.4$ times larger than the eastern region (IV).
Purpose: The present study was aimed to investigate the correlation between higher-order aberration and myopic degree by the analysis of fluctuation of high-order aberration according to the change of myopic degree in certain ranges of myopia and astigmatism. Methods: The high-order aberration in a total of 992 eyes was analyzed by using a LADARWave device employing Hartmann-Shack system, and the relation between high-order aberration and myopia by the change of myopic degree through manifest refraction test. Results: In all subjects, spherical aberration and total coma aberration were significantly increased by the increase of myopic degree, however, trefoil aberration and astigmatic aberration and tetrafoil aberration were decreased. With the group of lower myopic degree, the change of coma aberration was greater by myopic degree and its change was significantly different. The change of spherical aberration by myopic degree was greatly large in the a group of -3.00 D or more and the group of -6.00 D or more where as its change was not large in the group of lower than -3.00 D. The significant decrease of coma aberration was observed only in the group of astigmatic degree of -1.00 D or less when analyzing the correlation between the higher-order aberrations and myopia in the certain groups of astigmatic degree. In the case of spherical aberration, the significant change was shown in all astigmatic groups, however, its increase was larger with the increase of myopic degree in lower degree of astigmatism. The consistent relationship in variations of horizontal and vertical coma aberration in certain myopic and astigmatic groups was neither established nor statistically significant. Conclusions: It is concluded that the correlation between the higher-order aberration and low-order aberration obtained from the results of the present study can help the understanding related to vision quality and the improvement of vision quality.

The authors analyzed the morphological change of bone structure from 3,140 radiographs (1570 joints) of 785 patients with temporomandibular joint arthrosis, which were obtained by the oblique lateral transcranial projection and orthopantomographs. The interrelation of bone change and clinical symptoms, duration of the diseases were examined. Also, the bone changes of articular eminence, condyle, articular fossa were examined according to positional change of the condyle in the mouth open and close state. The results were as follows. 1. In the 785 patients with TMJ arthrosis, 782 patients (99.62%) show the positional change of the condyle. Among them 691 patients (88.03%) show the bone change. 2. In TMJ arthrosis patients with bone changes 451 patients (65.27%) showed both the condylar positional changes and bone changes bilaterally. 198 patients (28.65%) show the condylar positional changes bilaterally and bone changes unilaterally. 3. The bone changes in the TMJ arthrosis were in order of frequency eburnation (647 cases, 32.8%), erosion (548 cases, 27.79%), flattening (418 cases, 21.20%), deformity (138 cases, 6.99%). sclerosis (115 cases, 5.83%), marginal proliferation (106 cases, 5.38%). The region of bone change in TMJ arthrosis with condylar positional changes were in order of frequency the articular eminence (43.97%) condylar head (38.64%), articular fossa (17.39%). In the patients with bone changes, their clinical symptoms were pain (44.34%), clicking sound (33.5%), limitation of mouth opening (22.52%). In the patients complaining pain the most frequent bone change was erosion (28.60%), in the patients complaining clicking sound, eburnation (28.97%) in the patients complaining the limitation, eburnation (29.40%). Also in the patients with the duration below 1 year most common bone change was eburnation. 5. The most common condylar positional change was downward position (39.94%) in closed state, restricted movement of condyle (30.07%) in open state. The condylar positional changes and bone changes according to the region were as follows: a) In the condylar head the most frequent bone change was erosion (30.45%) and the most frequent condylar positional change was downward position (37.40%) in closed state, restricted movement of condyle (33.2%) in open state. b) In the articular eminence the most frequent bone change was eburnation (39.91%) and the most frequent condylar positional change was downward position (39.79%) in closed state, restricted movement of condyle (27.22%) in open state. c) In the articular fossa the most frequent bone change was eburnation (53.94%) and the most frequent condylar positional change was downward position (42.57%) in closed state, restricted movement of condyle (30.32%) in open state.
The Korea Adaptation Center for Climate Change (KACCC) located in Korea Environment Institute has serviced a climate change vulnerability assessment support tool (VESTAP) since 2014 in order to help local governments to establish their own adaptation plans. Owing to its easy usage, the VESTAP has been utilized by not only local governments but also academia for examination of climate change vulnerability in various fields. However, the KACCC has not suggested a standard usage how to compose indices for climate exposure, sensitivity, and adaptation capacity which are main components of vulnerability although the KACCC manages operation and application of the VESTAP. Many users had no choice but to compose indices based on their own interpretation on the components of vulnerability. This technical note suggests the standard usage of VESTAP by reevaluating some vulnerability assessments previously developed. This may help users to correctly compose indices for climate change vulnerability assessment, and may minimize possibility of inter-user inconsistency in definition of vulnerability assessments.
This study aimed to predict changes in forest area using a probability density function, in order to promote effective forest management in the area north of the civilian control line (known as the Minbuk area) in Korea. Time series analysis (2010 and 2016) of forest area using land cover maps and accessibility expressed by distance covariates (distance from buildings, roads, and civilian control line) was applied to a probability density function. In order to estimate the probability density function, mean and variance were calculated using three methods: area weight (AW), area rate weight (ARW), and sample area change rate weight (SRW). Forest area increases in regions with lower accessibility (i.e., greater distance) from buildings and roads, but no relationship with accessibility from the civilian control line was found. Estimation of forest area change using different distance covariates shows that SRW using distance from buildings provides the most accurate estimation, with around 0.98-fold difference from actual forest area change, and performs well in a Chi-Square test. Furthermore, estimation of forest area until 2028 using SRW and distance from buildings most closely replicates patterns of actual forest area changes, suggesting that estimation of future change could be possible using this method. The method allows investigation of the current status of land cover in the Minbuk area, as well as predictions of future changes in forest area that could be utilized in forest management planning and policymaking in the northern area.
The indiscriminate growth in global population poses a threat to the world in handling and disposal of Municipal solid waste. Rapid urban growth increases the production, consumption and generation of Municipal solid waste which leads to a drastic change in the environment. The methane produced from the Municipal Solid waste accounts for up to 11% global anthropogenic emissions, which is a major cause for global warming. This study reports the methane emission estimation using IPCC default, TNO, LandGEM, EPER and close flux chamber from open dump yards at Perungudi and Kodungaiyur in Chennai, India. The result reveals that the methane emission using close flux chamber was in the range of 8.8 Gg/yr-11.3 Gg/yr and 6.1Gg/yr to 9.1 Gg/yr at Kodungaiyur and Perungudi dump yard respectively. The per capita waste generation was estimated based on waste generation and population. The waste generation potential was projected using linear regression model for the period 2017-2050. The trend of CH4 emission in the actual field measurement were increased every year, similarly the emission trend also increased in IPCC default method (mass balance approach), EPER Germany (zero order decay model) where as TNO and Land GEM (first order decay model) were decreased. The present study reveals that Kodungaiyur dump yard is more vulnerable to methane emission compared to Perungudi dump yard and has more potential in waste to energy conversion mechanisms than compare to Perungudi dump yard.

In this paper we consider the problem of testing for structural changes in ARIMA models based on a cusum test. In particular, the proposed test procedure is applicable to testing for a change of the status of time series from stationarity to nonstationarity or vice versa. The idea is to transform the time series via differencing to make stationary time series. We propose a graphical method to identify the correct order of differencing.
Heat transfer phenomena of solidification process of the phase change material within cylindrical can is studied experimentally. N-Eicosane paraffin wax is used for phase change material and its melting temperature is 309.8 K. In order to achieve higher heat transfer rate of latent heat storage apparatus, fins in made of copper are used in the cylindrical can. If there are fins in cylindrical can, we can know that the inward latent heat energy in paraffin can be effectively transfered to cooling water than if finless.
