  • This study deals with the characteristic analysis of slotless PMLSM based on the analytical method. Slotless PMLSM produces the thrust ripples due to the harmonic component of back-EMF. Therefore, this paper presents the thrust ripple minimization technique, by modifying the pole ratio and the coil width. The results of the proposed mehtod are compared the ones of FEM.

  • This paper is proposed maximum thrust design of slotted Permanent Magnet Linear Synchrous Motor (PMLSM) using surface harmonic method considering slot effect. The genetic algorithm is used for optimization. The objective functions are the maximum thrust and the minimum detent force. This time, design parameters are set as PM width, PM height and slot width.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new method which does not need no load test for the characteristics analysis of linear induction motor. A new equivalent circuit of LIM is chosen and a method of determining its constants from results of the lock test is discussed. The calculated results were satisfactorily agreed with experimental results and conventional method.

  • Ki-Won Chang(1903-1966) is considered as the first mathematician who made a contribution to the study of the history of Korean mathematics. In this paper, we introduce contributions of Ki-Won Chang, his discovery of old Korean literatures on mathematics, and his academic contribution on the history of Korean mathematics. Then we analyze and compare his conclusions on old Korean mathematics with recent works of others. This work shows some interesting discovery.
