The response function of ionization chambers are measured in the narrow radiation field Nominal photon energies are 4MV, 6MV and 15MV. the Radii of the chambers are 0.5cm~3.05cm and the field size is 0.2$\times$20$\textrm{cm}^2$. The measurements are taken in the water phantom at 10cm depth. The beam kernel (radiation distribution profile) for narrow radiation field in the phantom are obtained from Monte Carlo simulation (EGS4, Electron Gamma Shower 4). The beam kernel components in the measured chamber response function are deconvolved in order to get the ideal chamber response function of the $\delta$-shaped function radiation field. The chamber response functions have energy dependent tendency before deconvolution, while they show energy invariant properties, after the components of beam kernels are removed by deconvolution method.

Purpose : To obtain the actual dose distribution from measured data by doconvolution method using the measured ion chamber response function. Materials and Methods : The chamber response functions for 2 ionization chambers (diameter 5mm, 6.4mm) were measured. and dose Profiles were measured for $10{\times}20cm^2$ field size using two different detectors. The deconvolution of chamber response function from the measured data were performed for these Profiles. The same procedures were repeated for 4MV, 6MV and 1 SMV photon energies. Results : Different dose Profiles were obtained for the same field with the chambers which have the different response functions. Nearly the same results could be obtained with deconvolution for the profiles from various detectors. Conclusion : The effect of the chamber response function can be extracted by deconvolution method. Deconvolved dose profile using various ionization chambers gave better dose distributions. Technical improvements are needed for practical application.

Breath analysis using a portable device is better than the classical breath analysis system in terms of installation and operation. There is an increasing need to develop cost-effective equipment for testing gas sensors from the viewpoint of functionalities that can be applied applicable to portable devices. In the present study, an economical gas chamber for in-situ gas measurement is implemented with a single gas chamber without using expensive gas storage and control equipment; the gas response characteristics are analyzed using the above-described chamber. The main features of the implemented gas chamber are simple injection procedure, improved gas diffusion, easy measurement and cleaning, support for low-power mode measurement function for portable devices, and open source platform. Moreover, an analysis of gas response characteristics based on changes in sensor voltage show that the sensitivity and 90% response time are affected by the sensor voltage. Furthermore, the sensitivity graph has an inflection point in a specific range. The gas sensor applied in this study showed fast response speed and high sensitivity for sensor voltages of 3.0-3.5 V, regardless of the concentration of acetone gas, the target gas used in this study.
In this study, the dynamic characteristics of an air spring connected with an external chamber through a flexible tube are examined. The uncoupled dynamic parameters of the air spring are identified through experiments, followed by the suggestion of a model-based approach to obtain the remaining coupled dynamic parameters using the various frequency response functions derived in PART I paper [1]. To improve or control the damping characteristics of the air spring, this vibration isolation air spring system is physically established in laboratory scale. And we attempt to identify various parameters used to describe to air spring system by both theoretically [1] and experimentally, which is performed in this report. The damping parameter of the tube system is identified through experiments on the system incorporated with the air cylinder, and a nonlinear regression procedure is employed to find solutions. The resulting value is used to expect the frequency response function of dynamic pressure in the top chamber (air spring) with respect to that in the bottom chamber (external chamber). Comparison with the experimental data supports the validity of the present estimation procedures. Also, the dynamic mechanism of the damping effects particularly in a low frequency range is investigated through this experimental endeavor.
The process of evaporation from free water surface was simulated in a large scale environmental chamber under various controlled atmospheric conditions and also was modelled by a new mass transfer model. Six evaporation tests were conducted with increasing wind speed and air temperature in the environmental chamber, and hence the effect of atmosphere parameters on the evaporation process and the corresponding response of water were investigated. Furthermore, based on the experiment results, seven general types of mass transfer models were evaluated firstly, and then a new model consisted of wind speed function and air relative humidity function was proposed and validated. The results show that the free water evaporation is mainly affected by the atmospheric parameters and the evaporation rate increases with the increasing air temperature and wind speed. Both the air and soil temperatures are affected by the energy transformation during water evaporation. The new model can satisfactorily describe the evaporation process from free water surface under different atmospheric conditions.

This paper presents a method for estimating the noise source contribution of a pulse combustion burner in a multiple input system where the input sources may be coherent each other. By coherence function method, it is found that the biggest part of the noise source in the pulse combustion burner is generated by the part of the combustion chamber. This analysis is modeled as three input / single output system because the noise generating mechanism of the pulse combustion burner is very complicated. The coherence function method is proved to be useful tool for the identification of noise source. The overall levels of the radiated source pressure by coherence function method are compared with those measured and calculated by the frequency response function approach. The experimental results have shown a good agreement with the results calculated by the coherence function method when the input sources are coherent strongly each other. The estimation of shield effect by FRF method indicates that significant reduction can be achieved in sound radiation if only transmission path generated by the part of combustion chamber is acoustically shield.

A parallel plate detector containing PTFE films in FEP film for relative dosimetry was designed to measure the response of detectors to S and 10 MV X-rays from a medical linear accelerator through different thicknesses of lead. The dielectric materials were 100 m thick. The set-up conditions for measurements with this detector were as follows: SSD=100 cm the test detector was at a depth of 5 cm and the reference chamber was at a depth of 10 cm from the phantom surface for 6 and 10 MV X-rays. Lead blocks were designed to cover the irradiated field. They were added to the tray to increase thickness sequentially. We found that the detector response decreased exponentially with the thickness of lead added. The linear attenuation coefficients of the test detector and reference chamber were 0.1414 and 0.541, respectively, for 6 MV X-rays and 0.1358 and 0.5279 for 10 MV X-rays. The test detector response was greater than that of the reference chamber. The response function was calculated from the measured values of the test detector and reference chamber using optimization. These optimized constants for the detector response function were independent of theenergy. As a result of optimizing the response function between detectors, the use of a relative dosimeter was validated, because the response of the test detector was 1% for 6 MV X-rays and 4% for 10 MV X-rays.
Due to the recent quantum leaps forward in bio-, nano-, and information-technologies (BT, NT and IT), the precisionization and miniaturization of mechanical and electrical components are in high demand. In particular, the ITrelated equipments that take a great part in our domestic industry are in the area requiring high precision technologies. As a consequence, the researches on the development vibration isolation systems that diminish external disturbance or internal vibration are highly required. Among the components comprising the vibration isolation system, air spring has become on a focal point for the researchers due to its merits. This air spring is able to support heavy loads, keep a low natural frequency despite of having a lower value of stiffness, and control the performance of vibration isolation. However, sometimes the sole use of air spring is in demand due to some economic reasons. Under this circumstance, the damping effect of sole air spring may not enough to reduce sufficient amount of vibration. In this study, the air spring mount system connecting with an external chamber is proposed to increase or control the damping effect. To investigate its damping mechanism, the thermal and dynamic behaviors of the system is examined through a theoretical modeling approach in this part of research. In this approach, thermomechanical and Helmholtz resonator type models are to be employed for the air spring/external chambers and connecting tube system, respectively. The frequency response functions (FRFs) derived from the modeling effort are evaluated with physical parametric values and the effects of connecting tube length on these FRFs are identified through computer simulations.

Characteristics of a phase change type micro actuator have been studied. The micro actuator has been designed for a micro-pump in an active direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC), consisting of an actuating chamber, a membrane, an electric heater, and a sensor of resistance temperature detector (RTD). In the present study, researches have been focused on the response of the actuator to control algorithm of the heater. The experiments demonstrated that the displacement of the membrane increase with temperature variation which is a function of applied voltage, duty ratio, and operating frequency of heating. The results also showed that operation of the actuator with high voltage at small duty of heating is more efficient than the same power consumption of heating with low voltage at large duty.

It is important for identification of noise and vibration problem of tire to consider influence of interaction between road and tire. A quantification of road noise is a challenging issue in vehicle NVH due to extremely complicated transfer paths of road noise as well as the difficulty in an experimental identification of input force from tire-road interaction. A noise caused by tire is divided into road noise(structure-borne noise) and pattern noise(air-borne noise). Pattern noise is caused by pattern shape of tire, which has larger than 500 Hz, but road noise is generated by the interactions between a tire and a vehicle body. In this paper, we define the quantitative analysis for road noise caused by interactions between tire and road parameters. For the identification of road noise, the chassis dynamometer that is equipped $10mm{\times}10mm $ square cleat in the semi-anechoic chamber is used, and the tire spindle forces are measured by load cell. The vibro-acoustic transfer function between ear position and wheel center was measured by the vibro-acoustic reciprocity method. In this study three tires with different type of mechanical are used for the experiment work.
