  • Robustness, payload, and imperceptibility of audio watermarking algorithms are contradictory design issues with high-level security of the watermark. In this study, the major issue in achieving high payload along with adequate robustness against challenging signal-processing attacks is addressed. Moreover, a security code has been strategically used for secure transmission of data, providing tamper detection at the receiver end. The high watermark payload in this work has been achieved by using the complementary features of third-level detailed coefficients of discrete wavelet transform where the human auditory system is not sensitive to alterations in the audio signal. To counter the watermark loss under challenging attacks at high payload, Daubechies wavelets that have an orthogonal property and provide smoother frequencies have been used, which can protect the data from loss under signal-processing attacks. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm has demonstrated adequate robustness against signal processing attacks at 4,884.1 bps. Among the evaluators, 87% have rated the proposed algorithm to be remarkable in terms of transparency.

  • The most powerful and modern face recognition techniques are using deep learning methods that have provided impressive performance. The outbreak of COVID-19 pneumonia has spread worldwide, and people have begun to wear a face mask to prevent the spread of the virus, which has led existing face recognition methods to fail to identify people. Mainly, it pushes masked face recognition has become one of the most challenging problems in the face recognition domain. However, deep learning methods require numerous data samples, and it is challenging to find benchmarks of masked face datasets available to the public. In this work, we develop a new simulated masked face dataset that we can use for masked face recognition tasks. To evaluate the usability of the proposed dataset, we also retrained the dataset with ArcFace based system, which is one the most popular state-of-the-art face recognition methods.

  • We are developing a shared remote control mobile robot for aerial work in nuclear power plants (NPPs); a robot consists of a mobile platform, a telescopic mast, and a dual-arm slave with a working tool. It is used at a high location operating the manual operation mechanism of a fuel changer of a heavy water NPP. The robot system can cut/weld a pipe remotely in the case of an emergency or during the dismantling of the NPP. Owing to the challenging control mission considering limited human operator cognitive capability, some remote tasks require a shared control scheme, which demands systematic software design and integration. Therefore, we designed the architecture of the software systematically.

  • Purpose: The rise of the phrase Work Life Balance was bought up in 1986 when amid many Americans there was prevalence of detrimental work place practices like neglecting families, leisure activities and friends in order to achieve their study place goals. The significance of work-life balance has been gaining ground in recent years to grasp a wider range of groups, including students. Searching and finding a balance can be complex and challenging for many individuals and students. Research design, data and methodology: Through this paper we will explore how students balance the competing demands of work, study, and social activities. Several factors have increased imbalances within Educational organizations, and technology specifically has been influential. However, technology also provides a novel solution to this organizational performance management issue. A Study-Life Optimization model (SLO) is suggested, which incorporates information systems, analytics, and decision support into a Smart Service System. A general framework for this model, detailing data collection, measurement, and ethical issues is explained briefly. Results: Outcomes include improved WLB, greater perceived quality of life, and increased Educational organizational performance. Conclusions: This paper contributes to the relevant literature as it pays attention to the various students' of varying lifestyles school-work-personal lives. Findings of this study will provide a meaningful of the Work/school-life balance issues faced by students. The research could be helpful to the various stakeholders of a University, the curriculum designers, program coordinators etc.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for generating graphic objects having realistic shadows inserted into video sequence for the enhanced augmented reality. Our purpose is to extend the work of [1], which is applicable to the case of a static camera, to video sequence. However, in case of video, there are a few challenging problems, including the camera calibration problem over video sequence, false shadows occurring when the video camera moves and so on. We solve these problems using the convenient calibration technique of [2] and the information from video sequence . We present the experimental results on real video sequences.

  • China is facing the challenging problems in both the potential energy resource shortage and the serious environmental pollutions. The author suggests that nuclear energy could play an important role for ensuring the long term energy security in China. The technical problems to be solved for the sustainable development of nuclear energy in China are also discussed and the R&D work in next 20 years are briefly suggested to meet the requirements of nuclear energy development in China.

  • In this work we deal with the problem of how to squeeze multiple ciphertexts without losing original message information. To do so, we formalize the notion of decomposability for public-key encryption and investigate why adding decomposability is challenging. We construct an ElGamal encryption scheme over extension fields, and show that it supports the efficient decomposition. We then analyze security of our scheme under the standard DDH assumption, and evaluate the performance of our construction.

  • This paper presents one possible approach for liberalization of the radio spectrum based around spectrum usage rights (SURs) which are technology and usage neutral. This is challenging technically because of the complexity of defining rights which are flexible and technology-neutral while retaining sufficient safeguards against interference. The work presented here is part of an ongoing process of defining and testing SURs. Of com is currently considering SURs, though is not committed to implementing them at this stage, and will issue further discussion documents on this area in due course.

  • Background: Agricultural work is physically demanding and is associated with a high frequency of musculoskeletal disorders. It is challenging to comprehensively understand the present status of work-related diseases and injuries among farmers in underdeveloped countries. Objects: This study aimed to elucidate the current status of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in local farmers in Tigray, Ethiopia, and identify the agricultural factors associated work-related musculoskeletal pain (AFWMP) and healthy living and healthy behavior factors associated work-related musculoskeletal pain (HFWMP). Methods: The Institute for Poverty Alleviation and International Development at Yonsei University conducted a survey of 126 households in Tigray, Ethiopia in 2014. A total of 116 individuals (73 men, 43 women) representing each household answered the questionnaires. Results: 1) Work-related musculoskeletal pain (WMSP) most commonly occurred when performing heavy lifting and most frequently occurred in the lower back. 2) Age, self-perceived labor intensity, and months of farming work were significantly higher in the pain group than those in the non-pain group. 3) Overall work-related musculoskeletal pain intensity (WPI) showed positive and negative correlations with years of farming experience and self-perceived health status, respectively. 4) In binary logistic regression, the occurrence of WMSP showed significant associations with self-perceived labor intensity. 5) On multiple linear regression analysis, age, months of farming work, and self-perceived health status had a significant impact on overall WPI. Conclusion: The WMSP of farmers in Tigray, Ethiopia was related to the characteristics of farm working and health status. Furthermore, HFWMP and AFWMP were the chief factors affecting the occurrence of WMSP in farmers in Tigray. Therefore, both HFWMP and AFWMP should be considered for clinical health assessments of farmers with WMSP in underdeveloped African countries.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the systematic report and analysis about Apartment VE application in Design Phase. In this study, the method of VE application is classified into foure groups-changing materials, changing a method of construction, acceptance of new technology, and use of new device. The facts found in this study can be summarized as follows. Application rate of VE is highest in building circumference parts. The main reason would be that there are many applicable factors according to locations, types of work, etc. Parking lots also show similar results with the same reason. It means there are a lot of possibility to adapt value engineering in these steps during the work. So far application of value engineering has been so limited that just small changes of process or method have been tried. One reason is the lack of challenging and the other is some characteristics of construction work which is very difficult to fix after completion. In the future, it would be more efficient to apply new technology and new device in construction work. Though these attempts have been ignored in Korea so far, there are still lots of possibilities to be developed in value engineering.
