Stannite is mainly found in hypothermal ore deposits, whereas mawsonite and stannoidite occur characteristically with bornite and chalcopyrite in subvolcanic (xenothermal) ore deposits. Mawsonite always shows the replacement on the rims of stannoidite grains or along the grain boundaries of stannoidite, bornite and chalcopyrite. In the Tada mine, Japan, the following mineral assemblages of the Cu-Fe-Sn-S minerals were observed. 1) bornite-stannoidite; 2) stannoidite-chalcopyrite; 3) stannite-chalcopyrite; 4) bornite-mawsonite-stannoidite; 5) bornite-stannoidite-chalcopyrite; 6) mawsonite-stannoidite-chalcopyrite; 7) stannoidite-stannite-chalcopyrite; 8) bornite-mawsonite-stannoidite-chalcopyrite The heating and D.T.A. experimental results indicate that natural stannoidite containing 3 weight percent of zinc decomposes to bornite, stannite and chalcopyrite at above $500^{\circ}C$, whereas zinc-free synthetic stannoidite is stable up to $800^{\circ}C$. The stability temperature of zincian stannoidite depends on the zinc content. Mawsonite is stable at temperatures below $390^{\circ}C$ and decomposed to stannoidite, bornite and chalcopyrite above it. According to the sulfur fugacity determination by the electrum tarnish method the univariant assemblage of mawsonite, bornite, stannoidite and chalcopyrite requires a higher sulfur fugacity than that of bornite, stannoidite and chalcopyrite assemblage.
The influence of oxidation on the floatability of sulfide minerals contained in mine failings has been investigated employing chalcopyrite as a target material. The critical surface tension of chalcopyrite was estimated to be about 15.5 dyne/cm based on Zisman plot and the floatability of chalcopyrite was observed to increase with the concentration of collector. The enhanced float-ability of chalcopyrite at its initial stage of oxidation was considered to be due to the transformation of disulfide to elemental sulfur and the decrease in its floatability at further oxidation was presumably caused by the formation of sulfate and/or disulfur trioxide from elemental sulfur. When the oxidized chalcopyrite was reduced, its floatability was increased and the variation of the critical surface tension of chalcopyrite according to tile oxidation/reduction was interpreted by an energy diagram constructed by different bond energies between atoms.
The Soowang deposits occur in the quartz veins that were filled fissures in the middle Cretaceous porphyritic granite and/or the Precambrian Sobaegsan gneiss complex. Paragenetic studies suggest that the vein filling can be divided into four identifiable stages. Sphalerites were deposited by the cooling fluids at stages I, II, and III. The results of microscopic observation and EPMA analysis suggest that the chalcopyrite dots and disease in sphalerite are replacement products by later hydrothermal solution at the early stage III. The inferred processes of chalcopyrite disease are as follows: (1) Fe enrichment to the margins and along the cracks of the Fe-poor sphalerite by Fe-rich solution, (2) Formation of chalcopyrite dots in the Fe-enriched sphalerite formed at the stage II, and Fe reduction of sphalerite near the chalcopyrite dots by Cu-bearing solution, (3) Formation of "chalcopyrite disease" penetrating the compositional zoning of sphalerite at the early stage III.
In order to charaterize weathering of chalcopyrite and behavior of dissolved metal ions in waste rocks from Manjang Cu mine, mineralogical studies such as refractive microscope, XRD and SEM/EDS analyses carried out. The weathering was mainly occurred in fractures and edge of the chalcopyrite within the mine waste rocks. The weathering process can be seen to reflect four stages based on the weathering degree of chalcopyrite. The main secondary minerals are goethite, covellite, azurite, malachite and brochantite. Dissolved Cu and As were mainly adsorbed Fe-hydroxide. Poorly crystalline Fe-oxide contains relatively high As contents. In oxdizing condition, the weathering of chalcopyrite mainly occurs along the fracture, while the replacement of chalcopyrite observed mainly in the grain and produced covellite and brochantite. The dissolved metals (Cu, Fe, As) in waste rocks from the abandoned Manjang mine area could attenuate naturally by precipitation, adsorption and replacement reaction.

Artificial mattes were prepared with adding pyrite or chalcopyrite as sulfur sources with Cu-Ni-Co-Fe alloy. The major phases identified by X-ray diffraction pattern were $(FeSi)_9S_8$, $CuFeS_2$, FeS, $Co_4S_3$, $Ni_3S_2$ and $Cu_2S$ for both mattes, and the matte prepared by adding chalcopyrite showed the higher peak of $Cu_2S$ due to high content of copper. Under optimum conditions, more than 95% copper, 90% nickel and 90% cobalt were extracted into leaching solution and sulfur concentration in the mattes did not much affect the leaching efficiency of the metals. The increase of the amount of pyrite or chalcopyrite added decreased pH in leaching solution and increased the concentration of iron ion dissolved in the leaching solution and the amount of residue.
We studied the electronic and magnetic properties for the Mn-doped chalcopyrite (CH) AlAs, GaAs, and AlGaAs2 semiconductor by using the first-principles calculations. The chalcopyrite AlGaP2, AlGaAsP, and AlGaAs2 compounds have a semiconductor characters with a small band-gap. The interaction between Mn-3d and As-4p states at the Fermi level dominate rather than the other states. The ferromagnetic ordering of dopant Mn with high magnetic moment is induced due to the Mn(3d)-As(4p) strong coupling, which is attributed by the partially filled As-4p bands. The holes are mediated with keeping their 3d-electrons, therefore the ferromagnetic state is stabilized by this double-exchange mechanism. We noted that the ferromagnetic state with high magnetic moment is originated from the hybridized As(4p)-Mn(3d)-As(4p) interaction mediated by the holes-carrier.
It was possible to understand the adsorption characteristics of ions in aqueous environment based on the variations of PZC and IEP of particles when adsorption of ions on particle surface occurred. The specific adsorption of $Cu^{2+}$ ion upon chalcopyrite surface provoked a lowered PZC, which was considered to be due to increased adsorption of OH- ion via the electrostatic attraction between the two ions. On the contrary, IEP of chalcopyrite was observed to rise when Cu2+ was specifically adsorbed on its surface. The reason for this could be explained by the necessity of the increase of pH to offset the positively increased surface potential of chalcopyrite for the reestablishment of IEP. Neither PZC or IEP of chalcopyrite was observed to change when non-specific adsorption occurred since no change in the surface potential of chalcopyrite was invoked under this condition.
The polycrystalline $CuInS_{2}$ thin films were prepared by annealing in vacuum and extra S supply of S/In/Cu stacked layers, which were deposited by sequential electron beam evaporation(EBE). n-type $CuInS_{2}$ was fabricated in vacuum with chalcopyrite structure and its minimum resistivity was $142{\Omega}Cm$. Also, p-type $CuInS_{2}$ was made in extra S supply with chalcopyrite structure and its minimum resistivity was $137{\Omega}Cm$.
The Keumryeong deposits is a low grade copper deposits in which copper minerals form disseminated grains and thin veinlets in felsic volcanics seem to be dacite. Alteration of the volcanics consists mainly pervasive propylitization and silicification. Potassic alteration characterized by biotite developed locally adjacent to southwestern contact of granodiorite body. Principal sulfide minerals in altered zone are mainly pyrite and lesser chalcopyrite. Chalcopyrite content in potassic zone is relatively higher than that of surrounding propylitized zone. Pyrite and chalcopyrite accompanies magnetite, molybdenite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, pentlandite, marcasite, hematite, ilmenite, rutile, bismuthinite and native Bi as disseminations, veinlets and knots. Granodiorite body is propylitized and contains veinlets of pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite. Fluid inclusions in sulfide-bearing quartz veinlets and quartz grains of felsic volcanics and granodiorite in altered zone consist of liquid-rich, vapor-rich, $CO_2-bearing$ and halite-bearing inclusions. These four types of inclusion intimately associated on a microscopic scale and indicate condensing or boiling of ore fluid during mineralization. Homogenization temperature of coexisting fluid inclusions are mostly in the range of 350 to $450^{\circ}C$. High salinity fluid contains 28.6 to 48.4 weight percent NaCI equivalent and moderate salinity fluid cotains 0.5 to 12.5 weight percent NaCl equivalent. Pressure estimated from $CO_2$ mole fraction of $CO_2-bearing$ inclusion range 160 to 375 bars. The Kigu copper deposits is a fissure filling copper vein developed 500 m south from the Keumryong deposits. Mineralogy and fluid inclusion data of the Kigu deposits are similar to that of the Keumryeong deposits. Homogenization temperature of fluid inclusions from the Kigu deposits are reasonable agreement with temperature estimated from sulfidation curve of cubanite-chalcopyrite-pyrite-pyrrhotite and pyrite-pyrrhotite mineral assemblages. Not only mineral occurrence and wall rock alteration in the Keumryeong deposits but also fluid inclusion data such as temperature, salinity, pressure and boiling evidences are similar to those of porphyry copper deposits.
