VHF 대역에 있어서 $PbTiO_{3}$송신/P(VDF-TrFE) 수신 광대역 초음파변환자 (A $PbTiO_{3}$ Transmitting/P(VDF-TrFE) Receiving Wideband Ultrasonic Transducer in VHF Band)

  • A new type of high frequency wideband ultrasonic transducer with a separation between a transmitter and a receiver was proposed and its characteristics were simulated using a PSpice model. The piezoelectric ceramic $PbTiO_{3}$ as a transmitter and the piezoelectric copolymer P(VDF- TrFE) as a receiver were used for high sensitivity and wide bandwidth, respectively. The characteristics of the focusing transducer with center frequency of approximately 35MHz fabricated in this study showed very wide bandwidth, which could give an axial spatial resolution better than $30{\mu}m$ in B-mode image for biological tissues.

  • A new type of high frequency wideband ultrasonic transducer with a separation between a transmitter and a receiver was proposed and its characteristics were simulated using the PSpice model.   • A nickel foam, one of metal foams was seleced as a catalyst support instead of conventional ceramic materials. $Al_2O_3$ was coated on the surface of nickel foam to increase the surface area. $Al_2O_3$ coating process was based on sol-gel process. SEM image was obtained and $Al_2O_3$ coverage was confirmed. Combustion experiments were carried out using SUS combustor and $H_2$/air mixture. Temperatures were measured with different equivalence ratios and $H_2$ flow rates. $H_2$ conversion rates were calculated by the analysis of product gas using gas chromatography. Catalytic combustion of $H_2$ was complete and stable with Pt/$Al_2O_3$ coated nickel foam and influences of water vapor were confirmed during the beginning of combustion.

ART2를 이용한 세라믹 영상에서의 다양한 결함 검출 (Various Fault Detection of Ceramic Image using ART2)

  • 본 논문에서는 비파괴 검사를 통하여 얻은 세라믹 영상에 퍼지 기법과 ART2 기법을 적용하여 결함을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 세라믹 소재로 얻어진 영상에서 결함의 구간을 설정하기 위해 퍼지 스트레칭 기법을 적용하여 명암도를 대비시킨다. 명암 대비가 강조된 영상에서 퍼지 이진화 기법을 적용한 후, 상/하 경계선에 가장 많이 분포된 곳을 Max, Min으로 설정하고, Max+20, Min-20을 결함 구간으로 설정한다. 설정한 결함 구간 내의 비파괴 세라믹 영상에서 ART2 알고리즘 기법을 적용하여 세라믹 영상의 결함을 검출한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법을 비파괴 세라믹 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존의 세라믹 결함 검출 방법보다 비파괴 세라믹 영상에서 다양한 형태의 결함이 검출되는 것을 확인하였다.

Domain Wall Motions in a Near-Morphotropic PZT during a Stepwise Poling Observed by Piezoresponse Force Microscopy

  • In the present study, domain evolution processes of a near-morphotropic PZT ceramic during poling was studied using vertical piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM). To perform macroscopic poling in bulk polycrystalline PZT, poling was carried out in a stepwise fashion, and PFM scan was performed after unloading the electric field. To identify the crystallographic orientation and planes for the observed non-$180^{\circ}$ domain walls in the PFM images, compatibility theory and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) were used in conjunction with PFM. Accurate registration between PFM and the EBSD image quality map was carried out by mapping several grains on the sample surface. A herringbone-like domain pattern consisting of two sets of lamellae was observed; this structure evolved into a single set of lamellae during the stepwise poling process. The mechanism underlying the observed domain evolution process was interpreted as showing that the growth of lamellae is determined by the potential energy associated with polarization and an externally applied electric field.

디스플레이 고색 재현 형광 소재 기술

  • Recently, display technology has been focused in regard with with color reproduction, contrast ratio, image resolution and color bit. Among these technologies, the color reproducibliity of White, Red, Green, and Blue is associated with the TV plaform and is expressed as a major technology. Major TV platforms are divided into three categories since 2015, including LCD-based phosphor coverted LED BLU technology, QD sheet technology using nano-sized quantum dots, and OLED technology. In this paper, we describe the color reproducibility definition and background, luminescent materials with wide color gamut, color reproducibility of TV display performance, and discuss about next luminescent materials.

고분자전해질 연료전지용 바이폴라 플레이트의 다층 코팅의 증착 (Multi-layered Coating Deposited on PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) Bipolar Plates)

  • The surface region of commercial stainless steel 304 and 316 plates has been modified through deposition of the multi-layered coatings composed of titanium film ($0.1{\mu}m$) and gold film ($1-2{\mu}m$) by an electron beam evaporation method. XRD patterns of the stainless steel plates deposited with conductive metal films showed the peaks of the external gold film and the stainless steel substrate. Surface microstructural morphologies of the stainless steel bipolar plates modified with multi-layered coatings were observed by AFM and FE-SEM images. The stainless steel plates modified with $0.1{\mu}m$ titanium film and $1{\mu}m$ gold film showed microstructure of grains of under 100 nm diameter. The external surface of the stainless steel plates deposited with $0.1{\mu}m$ titanium film and $2{\mu}m$ gold film represented somewhat grain growth of Au grains in FE-SEM image. The electrical resistance and water contact angle of the stainless steel bipolar plates modified with multi-layered coatings were examined with the thickness of the gold film.

LiNbO3 섬유 단결정의 분극에 관한 연구 (Study on Poling of LiNbO3 Fiber Single Crystals)

  • Congruent or stoichiometric $LiNbO_3$ fiber single crystals were grown by the $\mu$-PD method, and the grown fiber crystals have the several (2 or 3) ridges with a diameter of $1.35{\sim}1.5\;mm$ and a length of $40{\sim}100\;mm$. In this $\mu$-PD process, different growth rates ($10{\sim}60\;mm/h$) were applied. Pt wire or $LiNbO_3$ crystal was used as a seed. The properties of grown $LiNbO_3$ fiber single crystals having a-axis or c-axis according to seeds were effected by the grown conditions(Pt tube diameter, pulling speed, after heater etc.). Disk-type $LiNbO_3$ samples were poled in condition of DC 5 V/cm at 1050, 1075 or $1100^{\circ}C$. XRD, SEM, conoscope image through the polarized microscope, $T_C$ measuring apparatus, optical transmittance measuring instrument are used to identify the properties of $LiNbO_3$.

이산화탄소 분리용 세라믹 중공사 접촉막 모듈 기술 개발 (Development of Ceramic Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactor Modules for Carbon Dioxide Separation)

  • Porous $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membranes were successfully prepared by dry-wet spinning/sintering method. The SEM image shows that the $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membrane consists mostly of sponge pore structure. The contact angle and the breakthrough pressure were $126^{\circ}$ and 1.91 bar, respectively. This results indicate that the $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membranes were successfully modified to hydrophobic surface. The hydrophobic modified $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membranes were assembled into a membrane contactor system to separate $CO_2$ from a model gas mixture of the flue gas at elevated gas velocity. The $CO_2$ absorption flux was enhanced when the gas velocity increased from $1{\times}10^{-3}$ to $6{\times}10^{-3}$ m/s. Whereas the $CO_2$ absorption flux was decreased with the number of hollow fiber membrane of a module because of the concentration polarization. Furthermore, we developed an lab-scale $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membrane contactor modules and their system (i.e., $CO_2$ absorption using the $Al_2O_3$ membrane and monoethanolamine (MEA)) that could dispose of over $0.02Nm^3/h$ mixture gas (15% $CO_2$) with the removal efficiency higher than 95%. The results can be useful in a field of the membrane contactor for $CO_2$ separation, helping to design and extend a equipment.

팝아트 기법을 활용한 현대 도자 장식 표현 연구 (A Study on Expression of Contemporary Ceramic Decoration Using Pop Art)

  • 팝아트는 대중문화와 순수예술의 경계를 허무는 시대 문화적 현상을 표현함으로써 대중과 소통을 유도하고자 하였다. 도자 분야에도 팝아트 표현 기법의 특성을 활용하여 표현 영역을 확대하고 있다. 본 연구는 팝아트의 이론적 고찰을 통해 역사적 배경과 작가들의 작품에 나타난 팝아트 양식의 소재와 모티브의 표현특성을 규명하고 그 표현특성이 도자작품에 어떻게 활용되었는지 분석하였다. 작품분석결과 대중문화속의 일상적인 대상의 이미지를 밝고 화려한 색채, 실크스크린, 레터링, 포토몽타주, 만화적 표현, 오브제, 콜라주, 데쿠파주 등의 기법들을 다양하게 표현하였으며, 도자작품들이 대중 속에서 예술문화를 실현하고 보다 대중적인 소재와 심리를 표현하는 것에 가치를 두었다 사료되며 앞으로 도자예술이 팝아트 표현기법 위주의 재현이 아닌 예술적 가치를 재해석한 창의적 작품으로 창출되어 대중과 소통하는 문화예술로 더욱 발전되기를 기대해 본다.
