  • Korea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO), the only organization specialized in water resources management in Korea, is planning to establish a centralized control system for a related operation. in the central control room, of decision making as to water management and electric power generation. This plan is intended to convert the existing on-site operation system in each multi-purpose dam across the nation into a central operation system in the Corporations head office, for which Generation Integrated Operating System (GIOS) will be established control center in the Corporations head office and modernized nine (9) power stations. substations (RDAC). This article discusses realization of GTOS, especially real-time operation of hydropower plants and a specific architectural features for system communication.

  • In this paper a platform that makes it possible the simulations of the vehicle operational control for PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) is introduced. PRT system has very short headway and requires accurate speed control of the vehicles to avoid the impact between the vehicles. The proposed platform is composed of central control system, station control system, communication control system, AP for wireless communication, and monitoring system. Simple operational test scenarios are presented and the effectiveness of the proposed platform is shown using the test scenarios.

  • The expression of nestin and vimentin in the spinal nerve roots of rats with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) was studied to ascertain whether Schwann cells in the peripheral nerves respond to acute central nervous system autoimmune injury. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated that nestin was constitutively expressed in the dorsal roots of spinal nerves in control rats; its expression was enhanced in the spinal nerve roots of rats with EAE. Vimentin expression was weak in control rat spinal nerve roots, and it was increased in the dorsal roots of rats with EAE. It is postulated that normal animals have multipotent progenitor cells that constitutively express nestin and vimentin in the spinal nerve roots. In response to an injury of the central nervous system, these multipotent Schwann cells are activated in the spinal nerve roots through the expression of the intermediate filament proteins vimentin and nestin.

  • In order to utilize cache in multiprocessor system, cache coherence problem must be handled. Central directory scheme is one of hardware-assisted cache coherence solutions. The goal of this paper was not only to propose some special methods needed to apply central directory scheme to the specific multiprocessor system based on Intel486 microprocessors but also to design central directory unit for cache coherence of the target system. The problems of arbitrating several requests from processors, storing the cache information, and generating control signals for cache line fill and snoop cycle were solved.

  • This paper presents the development of a knowledge-based control system operating via the Internet. With the synergy provided by the Internet, the central expert controller with its knowledge-base has the potential to serve a multitude of front-end clients located anywhere in the world provided they have Internet access. In this way, the operational span of the knowledge-based control system can be expanded to virtually anyplace within the reach of the Internet. This configuration has positive implications in improving the efficiency of distributed operations, thereby enabling plantwide optimization and costs savings. Datasocket technology is adopted to facilitate a more efficient data exchange between the knowledge-based central server and the front-end clients. A specific application in the remote monitoring and fault diagnosis of machines using the proposed control configuration is presented in the paper.

  • In this study, a group of home bus system(HBS) is used to manage difference types of household appliances or many household appliance of the same type. The existing central controller is analyzed, and an independent control system is built to devise new methods to design the PC HBS. The newly designed system is installed in an air-conditioned building; the system can be monitored and controlled from a control room or from an office. By using the system, we can efficiently manage future energy needs and control large-scale integrated electronics and home automation system to an individual manage to build large is expected to contribute.

  • In this paper, we propose an intelligent streetlight system that has a complex sensor module of temperature, humidity, luminance and motion detection and controlled by the fuzzy logic based central monitoring system in order to get flexible and precise manipulation of the streetlight system in USN environment. The proposed streetlight system provides low power consumption and high efficiency by using sensed data from the complex sensor module, which were collected, processed, and analyzed by the fuzzy logic based central monitoring system. The performance of the proposed streetlight system is to be evaluated by a simulation study in terms of power savings and safety at the fields constructed as a test-bed under several suggested scenarios. Finally, we know that the proposed intelligent streetlight system can maximize the energy savings efficiently with the fuzzy logic based central monitoring system and selective remote dimming control by connecting it to the wireless ubiquitous sensor network (USN) using a Zigbee module.

  • H-Bridge Multi-Level (HBML) 고압인버터는 저압의 반도체 소자를 사용하는 단상 H-Bridge 인버터로 구성 된 셀을 직렬로 연결함으로써 정현파에 가까운 고전압을 얻을 수 있고, 입 출력 고조파가 낮아서 필터가 필요 없는 토폴로지로 산업분야에서 사용이 확대되고 있다. 본 논문은 HBML 고압인버터의 마스터 제어기와 셀 제어기의 통신 하드웨어를 병렬로 구성하여서 하나의 전압지령 값과 Angle 값으로 셀에서 PWM을 구현 할 수 있는 분산제어 방식을 제안한다. 이 방식에서 셀 제어기가 전압, 전류, 주파수, 보호기능, 통신감시 정보 등 셀 제어의 대부분을 담당함으로써 마스터 제어기의 부담을 줄이고, 따라서 신호선의 개수를 줄일 수 있다. 또 통신하드웨어의 종단에 마스터 제어기를 연결만 하면 마스터제어기의 2중화가 가능하므로 사용하고 있던 마스터 제어기의 고장 발생 시에 대체하여 사용할 수 있으므로 시스템의 안정성 향상에 도움을 준다. 선간전압 33레벨로 구성된 HBML 고압인버터 시험을 통해 제안된 방식의 타당성과 신뢰성을 검증한다.

  • For the management of maximum demand power, power control system that is consist of CCMS(Central Control and Management System) and MCCS(Minimum Cost Control and management Software) is proposed. MCCS has the basic functions of the set of target power and the enrollment of load control logic. And also MCCS give the simulation of Power rate that help more effective Demand Control.
