  • This study focused on the Hwaho farm among Japanese farms that were at the center of rural exploitation during the Japanese colonial period. The contents of the study examined who Kumamoto, the owner of the farm, was, how he entered Chosun and Hwaho-ri, and how much land he owned. And what kind of buildings were in the Hwaho farm during the Japanese colonial period, how they were arranged, and how the space was organized according to the arrangement of buildings. Hwaho farm, the subject of the study, was the farm that managed the most land among Kumamoto's farms. Currently, farmer's housing, Japanese employee housing, warehouses, and medical examination centers remain. In addition to Kumamoto, other Japanese and related buildings remain throughout the town. However, in recent years, a number of houses of enemy property such as Daue House, Sowha Ryokan, and shops are being destroyed without any records or investigations, so this study aims to record academic records of houses of enemy property remaining in Hwaho-ri Village.

  • Nowadays, according to the interests in the environmental infinity for the housing complex, there are various studies going on for setting general ideas and plans of them. And in some of the leading places are applied by the infinity of the natural environment. So, by this study, I analyzed the classification and the system of the infiltrated facilities for the rainwater and then suggested the problems about these and the studies for the generalization of the infiltrated facilities for the rainwater based on my real investigation of the center of infiltrated facilities for the rainwater in the Kiheung, Sangal Kum Hwa Village designed and builded by the Korea Housing Corporation for building housing complex with the infinity of the natural environment. I grasped the realities based on subject investigations and designs and found out the infiltrated facilities for the rainwater in the subject. Those are the porous concretes, pebbles and cobbles. The problems in the subject are supervision of these places and a shoddy and fault constructions by the ignorance and lack of recognition for the construction. These will be solved by reconsidering of the infiltrated facilities for the rainwater. The system of the infiltration is that the rainwater of the top of the building flows into the brook in the subject through the field of the subject. There must be going to be leading studies on the effect of these facilities and influence on the environment for the generalization of the infiltrated facilities for the rainwater of natural environment.

  • Background: This study assessed human papillomavirus (HPV), cervical cancer, and HPV vaccine knowledge and awareness among women in two sub-populations in Nepal - Khokana, a traditional Newari village in the Lalitpur District about eight kilometers south of Kathmandu, and Sanphebagar, a village development committee within Achham District in rural Far-Western Nepal. Methods: Study participants were recruited during health camps conducted by Nepal Fertility Care Center, a Nepali non-governmental organization. Experienced staff administered a Nepali language survey instrument that included questions on socio-demographics, reproductive health and knowledge on HPV, cervical cancer, and the HPV vaccine. Results: Of the 749 participants, 387 (51.7%) were from Khokana and 362 (48.3%) were from Sanphebagar. Overall, 53.3% (n=372) of women were aware of cervical cancer with a significant difference between Khokana and Sanphebagar (63.3% vs 43.0%; p=0.001). Overall, 15.4% (n=107) of women had heard of HPV and 32% (n=34) of these women reported having heard of the HPV vaccine. If freely available, 77.5% of the women reported willingness to have their children vaccinated against HPV. Factors associated with cervical cancer awareness included knowledge of HPV (Khokana: Odds Ratio (OR)=24.5; (95% Confidence Interval (CI): 3.1-190.2, Sanphebagar: OR=14.8; 95% CI: 3.7-58.4)) and sexually transmitted infections (Khokana: OR=6.18; 95% CI: 3.1-12.4; Sanphebagar: OR=17.0; 95% CI: 7.3-39.7) among other risk factors. Conclusions: Knowledge and awareness of HPV, cervical cancer, and the HPV vaccine remains low among women in Khokana and Sanphebagar. Acceptance of a freely available HPV vaccine for children was high, indicating potentially high uptake rates in these communities.

(Nelson-Mandela African Institution of Science and Technolgoy, 이하 NM-AIST)과 협력하여 건립된 한국-탄자니아 적정기술거점센터 (Korea-Tanzania Innovative Technology and Energy Center, 이하 iTEC)은 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 전력이 공급되지 않는 탄자니아 교외지역에 스마트-독립전력망을 활용한 소규모 태양광 발전소를 건설하고, 이와 연계된 사업을 진행함으로써, 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 한다.

  • The method of this study is as follows : First, the interview with the civil servants concerned. Second, the review of the pertinent public ledgers. Third, the review of the existing reference. The results of this study are as follows. 1) The health education system in Korea has only the head. But it does not have the trunk and the limbs that it can move with. 2) Health educator should have the essential work that is the planning and coordinating work of intersectoral health education programs. They should also have the trust works from other sectors. 3) The proposition in the health education policy is as follows: First, the department or section of health education should be made newly in the public health organization. Second, at the level of province(Do) and county(Gun), the health educator should be stationed. Third, most training courses of health care members should involve health education subjects. Fourth, the health center at the level of county(Gun) should have a minimum material and audio-visual equipment of health education. Fifth, regular health education should be put into practice through local broadcast or CATV etc.. Sixth, school health education should be consolidated. Seventh, village health worker(nurse) should be stationed at the level of health center, so that he(she) can work as health educator. 4) The ultimate model of health education system is that of Fig. 5. But it is impossible to change the system synoptically. At first health educator should be stationed at health center. And then the system should be gradually organized.

  • Ecological architecture enables people to recycle and reuse architectural resources within the category of ecosystem and also to minimize the effect on environment in a whole process, including architectural planning, usage and exhaustion to use sustainable energies. Rammed earth wall construction method utilized in EcoCenter located in Crystalwaters ecological village in Austrailia is a good example, which maximizes its advantages and also covers its limits to use soil and wood as structural resources. In a case of wood, they used non-treated timber to minimize environmental load and utilized used materials in openings. In the roofs, aluminum coated steel which is plated with zinc collects rain effectively even though it is not regenerable. Nontoxic finishes and insulation in floor and ceiling with used papers are able to minimize its environmental load. Solar energy system applied in EcoCenter enables them to market extra energy with electricity companies as well as support needs of its own buildings to utilize photovoltaic panel system with PV panels. Passive solar system is planned effectively in heating and cooling to apply regenerative walls in a use of rammed earth wall construction and natural ventilation systems through openings.
