  • The aim of this study was to identify the differences in cellular phone dependency and its use levels of usage purposes according to children's gender, and also to analyze the differences in individual and interpersonal relations development due to cellular phone dependency in children based on gender. Using the first year data of the Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) 2010, this study analyzed 1,604 fourth graders who have their own cellular phones. For statistical analysis, descriptive statistics were calculated and mean difference analyses were conducted. The results showed that there was no difference between boys and girls in cellular phone dependency. The girls' total phone use level was higher than that of boys and meaningful gender differences in the phone use levels were found in the five phone usage purposes. In both boys and girls, the higher phone dependency groups demonstrated higher levels of phone use in more than eight usage purposes, lower self-resilience and self-regulating learning ability, and less positive peer and teacher relations. These findings show the importance of being concerned about and educating children in the fourth grade about the proper uses of cellular phones.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of time perspective, self-control and cellular phone addiction on academic procrastination, and to cellular phone addiction has any mediating effects in relation to the effects of adolescents' time perspective and self-control on academic procrastination. For this study, a survey was conducted with total 651 students in middle and high schools. Those who omitted responses or answered in ways which were otherwise invalid were excluded and finally, questionnaires responded to by 558 students were analyzed. Employing SPSS Win 12.0, average value, standard deviation, frequency analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression analysis, and simple linear regression analysis were used for the purposes of statistical analysis. In conclusion, first, explanations were made in order of future-oriented time perspective which is subordinate domain of view of time perspective, self-control, and cellular phone addiction. Second, it was found that cellular phone addiction has partially mediating effect on the relationships between future-oriented time perspective which is a subordinate area of adolescents' time perspective, and academic procrastination. Third, it was found that cellular phone addiction has partially mediating effect on the relationships between adolescents' self-control and academic procrastination.

  • Traditional Chinese medicine classifies peripheral nerve impairment as paralysis and arthromyodynia, and considers that it is the result of defects of meridians and vessels, QI and blood, bones and muscles. Huangqi (Astragalus) Guizhi (Cassia Twig) Wuwu Tang, as a Qi invigorating formula, is usually used to improve peripheral nerve impairment. In recent years, some scholars have conducted research into Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) treatment with Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang and certain values of this treatment approach have been identified. CIPN is a type of blood-arthralgia Zheng in traditional Chinese medicine theory. In this review, we will discuss the treatment of CIPN with Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang according to blood-arthtalgia Zheng.

  • Objective: A case report on improving the symptoms of patients with reflux esophagitis by Ortho-Cellular Nutrition Therapy (OCNT). Methods: A 61-year-old Korean male who has been taking proton-pump inhibitors in the hospital for a long time due to the symptoms of reflux esophagitis. Results: The practice of Ortho-Cellular Nutrition Therapy (OCNT) restored the patient's mucosal cells of the esophageal sphincter, which led to the judgment that he was cured of reflux esophagitis. Conclusion: Ortho-Cellular Nutrition Therapy (OCNT) can be effective in relieving the symptoms of patients with reflux esophagitis.

  • Background: When cells are damaged by nicotine, cellular senescence due to oxidative stress accelerates. In addition, stress-induced inflammatory response and cellular senescence cause the accumulation of damaged organelles in cells, and autophagy appears to remove them. Conversely, when autophagy is reduced, harmful cell components accumulate, and aging is accelerated. This study aimed to determine the association between nicotine-induced cellular senescence and autophagy expression patterns in human gingival fibroblasts. Methods: Cells were treated with various concentrations of nicotine (0, 0.1, 0.5, 1, 2, and 5 mM) and 10 nM rapamycin was added to 1 mM nicotine to investigate the relationship between autophagy and cellular senescence. Cell viability was confirmed using WST-8 and the degree of cellular senescence was measured by SA-β-gal staining. The expression of the inflammatory proteins (COX-2 and iNOS) and autophagy markers (LC3-II, p62, and Beclin-1) was analyzed by western blotting. Results: The cell viability tended to decrease in a concentration-dependent manner. COX-2 showed no concentration-dependent expression and iNOS increased in the 0.5 mM nicotine treated group. The degree of cellular senescence was the highest in the 1 mM nicotine treatment group. In the group treated with rapamycin and nicotine, the conversion ratio of LC3-II to LC3-I was the highest, that of p62 was the lowest, and the level of Beclin-1 proteins was significantly increased. Furthermore, the degree of cellular senescence was reduced in the group in which rapamycin was added to nicotine compared to that in the group treated with nicotine alone. Conclusion: This study provides evidence that autophagy activated in an aging environment reduces cellular senescence to a certain some extent.

  • New and handoff calls control mechanisms are the key point to wireless cellular networks. In this paper, we present an adaptive algorithm for dynamic channel allocation scheme with guard channels and also with handoff calls waiting queue ensuring that handoff calls take priority over new calls. Our goal is to find better tradeoff between handoffs and new calls blocking probabilities in order to achieve more efficient channel utilization. Simpy is a Python based discrete event simulation system. We use Simpy to build our simulation models to get analytical data.

  • In this paper, we propose a multiplication scheme based on cellular automata and propose high speed multiplication scheme and exponentiation scheme using a optimal normal basis. And then EIGamal signature scheme is implemented by proposed schemes. A proposed multiplication and exponentiation scheme based on cellular automata can be used in restricted computing environments such that basis is frequently changed and cryptosystem and multimedia applications that are required high speed operations.
