This paper describes a robust mobile u-healthcare system with multiple physiological signs measurement capability in real time with integration of WSN(wireless sensor network) technology and CDMA(code division multiple access) network. A cellular phone receives health data in WSN and performs local physiological signs analysis at a phone processor, and then transmits abnormal data to server for further detail or precise health signal evaluation by a medical doctor over a CDMA network. Physiological signs of the patients are continuously monitored, processed and analyzed locally at cellular phone process to produce useful medical information for diagnosis and tracking purposes. By local simple analysis in cellular phone processor we can save the data transmission cost in CDMA network. By using the developed integrate ubiquitous healthcare service architecture, patients can realize self-health checking so that the prevention actions can be taken earlier. Appropriate self-monitoring and self-management can cure disease and relieve pain especially for patients who suffer from chronic diseases that need long term observation.

The purpose of this study is to see relationship between middle school students' cellular phone consumption behavior and their mothers' consumer education. A survey was conducted with middle school students at nine middle schools in Gyeongnam who possessed a cellular phone and their mothers(1,080 in total). The results of this study are as follows: First, middle school students' cellular phone consumption behavior was relatively at the average level or higher: they were best at A/S and change and refund and were at the average level in collecting and using information for purchase followed by contract. This consumption behavior was associated with such variables as gender, academic performance, and monthly pocket money. Second, as for consumer education for middle school students' mothers in general, purchase education was most highly recognized, followed by citizenship education and value education. However, value education was relatively weak, which should be reinforced. Mothers' consumer education was associated with children's grade, academic performance and monthly pocket money. Third, since middle school students' desirable cellular phone consumption behavior was strongly associated with their mothers' consumer education, it is highly urgent to improve the quality of consumer education by mothers at home.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the degrees of cellular phone usage among middle school students and to identify discriminating factors of addictive use of cellular phones among socio-demographic and psychological variables. Methods: From 123 middle schools in Busan, potential participants were identified through stratified random sampling and 747 middle school students participated in the study. The data was collected from December 1, 2004 to December 30, 2004. Descriptive and discriminant analyses were used. Results: Fifty seven percent of the participants were male and 89.7% used cellular phones at school. The participants were grouped into three groups depending on the levels of the cellular phone usage: addicted (n=117), dependent (n=418), non-addicted (n=212). Within the three groups, two functions were produced and only one function was significant, discriminating the addiction group from non-addiction group. Additional discriminant analysis with only two groups produced one function that classified 81.2% of the participants correctly into the two groups. Impulsiveness, anxiety, and stress were significant discriminating factors. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, developing intervention programs focusing on impulsiveness, anxiety and stress to reduce the possible addictive use of cellular phones is suggested.
For a company operating lots of vehicle, such as taxi companies or delivery company, a system telling the position of each vehicle is essential. Conventional methods are based on personal communication between a operator in head-office and driver at the car. Since driver cannot respond to the communication while he drives or when lie is out of car. the communication often fails. So, a system identifying and reporting the vehicle position offers groat help to those kind of company.
This paper presents a methodology for analyzing individual differences on Kansei evaluation for a set of product samples. This analysis divides subjects into several groups by each subject's Kansei evaluation data according to what kinds of Kansei are related on what kinds of design elements. The basic idea is to classify the results of cluster analysis in individual subject's ranges. A similarity matrix of subject is computed by comparing dendrogram of each subjects. The methodology is applied to analyzing evaluation data of cellular phone design.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of aesthetics factors and purchasing contribution for cellular phone(CP). and to forecast the developing possibility of the CP market. In order to conduct this study, SKIM-8100, Anycall SCH-V500, and Cyon SV-520 were selected. Then, 20 aesthetics adjectives of the CP were extracted and analyzed by Semantic Defferential(SD) Method. Also, SPSS was used for the statistic methods.

A simulation using the finite-difference time-domain method to analyze the electromagnetic interactions between a cellular phone and the human body was conducted, and a synthesis of a bone-equivalent material to make a human head phantom was performed. A test model of the cellular phone was fabricated to measure its reflection coefficient and radiation pattern in the free space. Various effects of the human body on the characteristics of the phone, such as input impedance, reflection coefficient, radiation pattern, and radiation efficiency are analyzed as the distance between the head and the phone antenna varies. When the phone was operated close to the head, the resonant frequency of the antenna decreased by up to 12%. With the output power of 0.6W, as long as the distance was larger than 30mm, the 1-g averaged peak SAR was below the ANSI/IEEE safety guideline, 1.6 W/kg. To synthesize the bone-equivalent material, an epoxy with hardener and a graphite powder were used as basis ingredients, and a small amount of a conducting epoxy was added to control the conductivity of the material. A material having a relative permittivity of 18.04 and a conductivity of 0.347, which are close to those of the bone at 850 MHz, was synthesized.
There are reports showing that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted at non-thermal levels may be associated with biological alterations in target cells. In this study it is objected to assess the potential influences of EMFs produced by cellular phones on fetal heart rate. Non Stress Test (NST) is a widely used method of fetal monitoring and assessing fetal health and well-being. Sixty volunteers with uncomplicated term pregnancies were studied by a Spacelabs AM-67 Doppler ultrasound monitor. Fetal Heart Rate recordings were obtained while there were no Cellular Phone around for 10 minutes. Afterwards, all patients were exposed to EMFs for 10 minutes. NST was performed while they were holding the CP on stand-by mode and then on dialing mode, each for 5 minutes. The recordings were analyzed with respect to baseline heart rate, accelerations and decelerations. The Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test was used to compare these variables. The results indicate that EMFs emitted by CP do not cause any demonstrable effects on baseline FHR, acceleration or deceleration.

The level of competition has reached the limits in cellular phone market and the cellular phone manufacture companies started to focus their solution in user interface. Design issues with controllability led the development and renovation of such products to the use of the touch-screen phone. Depending upon the readability, technical advances, portability and controllability, user satisfaction of touch-screen phones could vary significantly. In this research, the controllability was dealt in regard to various grip postures, in order to improve menu layout which fits for using the thumbs of both hands and a thumbs of single hand. Regression models are found to the suggest the location of buttons on the screen by redesigning the menu layout, it is expected to improve both controllability and satisfaction of the user. This result can be applicable not only to mobile phone design, but also to the design of various hand-held devices using a touch screen.
