Recently, single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) technology has enabled the discovery of novel or rare subtypes of cells and their characteristics. This technique has advanced unprecedented biomedical research by enabling the profiling and analysis of the transcriptomes of single cells at high resolution and throughput. Thus, scRNA-seq has contributed to recent advances in cardiovascular research by the generation of cell atlases of heart and blood vessels and the elucidation of mechanisms involved in cardiovascular development and diseases. This review summarizes the overall workflow of the scRNA-seq technique itself and key findings in the cardiovascular development and diseases based on the previous studies. In particular, we focused on how the single-cell sequencing technology can be utilized in clinical field and precision medicine to treat specific diseases.

Purpose: Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) is a peripheral neuropathy mainly divided into CMT type 1 (CMT1) and CMT2 according to the phenotype and genotype. Although molecular pathologies for each genetic causative have not been revealed in CMT2, the correlation between cell death and accumulation of misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) of Schwann cells is well documented in CMT1. Establishment of in vitro models of ER stress-mediated Schwann cell death might be useful in developing drug-screening systems for the treatment of CMT1. Materials and Methods: To develop high-throughput screening (HTS) systems for CMT1, we generated cell models using transient expression of mutant proteins and chemical induction. Results: Overexpression of wild type and mutant peripheral myelin protein 22 (PMP22) induced ER stress. Similar results were obtained from mutant myelin protein zero (MPZ) proteins. Protein localization revealed that expressed mutant PMP22 and MPZ proteins accumulated in the ER of Schwann cells. Overexpression of wild type and L16P mutant PMP22 also reduced cell viability, implying protein accumulation-mediated ER stress causes cell death. To develop more stable screening systems, we mimicked the ER stress-mediated cell death in Schwann cells using ER stress inducing chemicals. Thapsigargin treatment caused cell death via ER stress in a dose dependent manner, which was measured by expression of ER stress markers. Conclusion: We have developed genetically and chemically induced ER stress models using Schwann cells. Application of these models to HTS systems might facilitate the elucidation of molecular pathology and development of therapeutic options for CMT1.

In this paper, the author presents the MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) receiver algorithm with the capability of inter-cell or inter-sector interference cancellation over multi-antenna OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems. As contrast with the previous research dealing with the filtering scheme at the time domain, the proposed algorithm is presented as the pre-filtering scheme which can be applicable to the frequency domain. Note that the proposed one can be implemented only by pilot symbols which are used in the channel estimation. In addition, it is analytically confirmed that the proposed scheme can be applied for either MIMO( C-SM(Collaborative-Spatial Multiplexing)) interference or SIMO(Single-Input Multi-Out) interference. The proposed receiver algorithm is verified by simulations over UL-PUSC SR off in IEEE 802.16e standard. From simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed one can be applicable regardless of the kind of interference. Furthermore, it is verified that the performance is guaranteed even under Ole severe effect of interference and the improvement of system throughput is guaranteed.

In this paper, collision avoidance beamforming(CA-BF) technology is proposed to mitigate inter-cell interference in cooperative wireless communications system with limited feedback. Each acess terminal(AT) selects both the best BF weight vector for a serving base transceiver station(BTS) and the most interfering BF weight vectors of interfering BTSs within a cluster, and sends it back to a cluster scheduler. At the cluster scheduler, a set of transmit BF weights of BTSs and the corresponding scheduled ATs are jointly determined to avoid collision among beams formed by BTSs within a cluster, which enhances system throughput by mitigating inter-cell interference. It is shown that the proposed CA-BF outperforms existing non-coordinated BF schemes in terms of the average system throughput.

This paper proposes distributed file placement and coverage expansion techniques for mitigating the traffic bottleneck in backhaul for small-cell networks. In order to minimize the backhaul load with limited memory space, the proposed scheme controls the coverage and file placement of base station according to file popularity distribution and memory space of base stations. In other words, since the cache hit ratio is low when there is small memory capacity or widespread file popularity distribution, the base stations expand its coverage and cache different set of files for the user located in overlapped area to exploit multiple cached file sets of base stations. Our simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional cache strategy in terms of network throughput when there is small memory capacity or widespread file popularity distribution.

In the recent, the communication market increased every year. Because of the user's demands and exhaustion of wireless resource, we needs a new technology of the communication system. The femtocell is one of the new technology of the communication system. 'Femto' means very small. By using the femtocell that made up the very small cell, the frequency efficiency increase. The femtocell has different cell environments. The Power Control is important for femtocell to avoid interference and unnecessary handover. In this paper, we propose a new femtocell power control that is improvement of handover probability and throughput. And we simulate and check the result.

Mobile relay systems have been adopted by $4^{th}$ generation mobile systems as an alternative method to extend cell coverage as well as to enhance the system throughput at cell-edges. In order to achieve such performance gains, the mobile relay systems require path selection and resource allocation schemes that are specifically designed for these systems which make use of additional radio resources not needed in single-hop systems. This paper proposes an integrated path selection and resource allocation scheme for LTE-Advanced relay systems using collaborative communication. We first define the problem of maximizing the downlink throughput of LTE-Advanced relay systems using collaborative communication and transform it into a multi-dimensional multi-choice backpacking problem. The proposed Lagrange multiplier-based heuristic algorithm is then applied to derive the approximate solution to the maximization problem. It is shown through simulations that the approximate solution obtained by the proposed scheme can achieve a near-optimal performance.

In this paper, we proposed a new buffer management and cell scheduling scheme for GFR service in ATM networks. The proposed scheme is able to satisfy fairness criteria and efficient cell service in GFR. Performance analysis through the simulation presents that the proposed scheme can meet fairness 2(MCR plus equal share), which are not met by conventional scheduling mechanisms such as WRR. Also, the proposed scheme is superior to WRR about 29% in throughput and more efficency in fairness criteria.

In this paper, we consider the femto users and their mutual interference as graph elements, nodes and weighted edges, respectively. The total bandwidth is divided into a number of resource blocks (RBs) and these are assigned to the femto user equipment (FUEs) using a graph coloring algorithm. In addition, resources blocks are assigned to the femto users to avoid inter-cell interference. The proposed scheme is compared with the traditional scheduling schemes in terms of throughput and fairness and performance improvement is achieved by exploiting the graph coloring scheme.

B-ISDN has many advantages to provide multimedia, image transfer, etc. Recently, ABR service has been proposed in order to satisfy user's various requirements in it. In this paper, we propose a new ABR flow control algorithm called CAPRO. This algorithm uses the buffer proportional to propagation delay and controls the traffic on a link-by-link basis in order to minimize the effect of propagation delay. In order to use buffer more efficienctly, we define the request cell and the control cell. Then, we analyze our algorithm using mathematical model, simulate it using SLAM system, and compare to the existing EPRCA. As a result, our algorithm has the benifit of the throughput, cell loss probability, and fairness.
