각 셀 영역의 사용자 분포에 따른 셀간 간섭 조정 기법의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Inter-cell Interference Coordination through Zone Distribution in Cell)

  • 현재의 이동 통신 환경에서 셀룰러 시스템에서의 OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 기술의 사용은 이미 보편화 되었다고 봐도 과언이 아닐 정도이다. 그러나 최근 스마트폰의 사용의 급증에서 나타난 가장 큰 문제점을 보면 알 수 있듯이 이와 같은 셀룰러 시스템 환경은 인접 셀간의 간섭 문제가 심각하게 작용한다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 제안된 알고리즘의 성능이 각 셀 영역에서 사용자 분포에 어떤 관계가 있는지 알아보고 이를 모의실험을 통해 확인하도록 한다. 그 결과, 적절한 셀 영역의 사용자 분포를 확인하였으며 이를 통해 셀간 간섭 완화 기법의 성능에도 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다.

Build and Performance Test of a 3-cell Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Stack

  • A 3-cell stacked anode-supported solid oxide fuel cell was designed and fabricated to achieve a complete gas seal and the facile stacking of components. The stack was assembled with a unit cell with $10{\times}10cm^2$ area, and each cell was interconnected by a stainless steel 430 separator using a proprietary sealant sheet. The stack performance was examined at various gas flow rates of $H_2+3.5vol%\;H_2O$, and air at a fixed temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. No gas leakage was found from the sealing between cells and inter-connects within a measurement system in this research during a prolonged time of 500 h in operation. The test resulted in an open circuit voltage of 3.12 V, a peak power of 149 W, and a power density of $0.61W/cm^2$, while the long term durability of the power showed 19.1% degradation during the prolonged time of 500 h when tested at $800^{\circ}C$.

  • Recirculation for the unreacted fuel is necessary to improve the overall efficiency of the fuel cell system and to prevent fuel starvation since the fuel cell for a vehicle application is a closed system. In case of the automotive fuel cell, the ejector which does not require any parasitic power is good for the performance improvement and easy operation. It is essential to design the customized ejector due to the lack of the commercial ejector corresponding to the operating conditions of the fuel cell systems. In this study, the design methodology for the ejector customized to an automotive fuel cell is proposed. The model based sensitivity analysis prevents the time-consuming redesign and reduces the cost of developing ejector. As a result, the customized ejector to meet the desired performance within overall operating range has developed for the PEMFC automotive system.

  • The effect of anode gas channel height on gas diffusion and cell performance in a 100 $cm^2$ class molten carbonate single cell is investigated. Single cell separators with three different channel height are used. The effect of the gas channel height on the distribution of the reactive gas concentration is evaluated by the two-dimensional concentration diffusion equation. The overpotential caused by concentration drop with different channel height is estimated by the voltage decay related to diffusion of reactants, well known as concentration polarization, using limiting current density. The estimation could have the possibility to identify the reactant mass transfer polarization in the complicate factors of the overall electrodes.

태양전지 보호유리가 태양전지 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Solar Cell Cover Glass on Solar Cell Performance)

  • In this study, the effect of solar cell cover glass on the solar cell performance is evaluated. Silicon solar cell (active area:4*6cm, efficiency:12.6% at AMO condition) is used for this study. ITO(Indium tin Oxide) film thickness of the ITO/AR/substrate glass/solar cell structure samples are $40{\AA}$, $60{\AA}$, $160{\AA}$, $240{\AA}$ respectively. The solar cell maximum output power on the stacking structure variations showed 465mW in the AR/ITO/substrate glass/solar cell, and minimum output power showed 403mW in the AR/substrate glass/solar cell. The maximum output power of the solar cell on the ITO thickness variations of the ITO/AR/substrate glass/solar cell showed 460mW at $40{\AA}$ then decrease output power as ITO thickness increase. For environment tests, all samples are exposed UV light in the vacuum chanber. The output power degradation of AR(UVR)/substrate glass/solar cell stacking structure is small compared with ITO/AR(UVR)/substrate glass/solar cell stacking structure.

유로형상 및 운전조건에 따른 고분자 전해질 연료전지의 성능 특성 (Performance Characteristics of PEMFC by flow Configurations and Operating Condition)

  • For proton exchange membrane fuel cell, it is very important to design the flow channel on separation plate optimally to maximize the current density at same electrochemical reaction surface and reduce the concentration polarization occurred at high current density. In this paper, three dimensional computation model including anode and cathode domain together was developed to examine effects of flow patterns and operation conditions such as humidity and operating temperature on performance of fuel cell. Results show that voltage at counter flow condition is higher than that at coflow condition in parallel and interdigitated flow pattern. And fuel cell with interdigitated flow pattern which has better mass transport by convection flow through gas diffusion layer has higher performance than with parallel flow pattern but its pressure drop is increased such that the trade off between performance and pressure drop should be considered for selection of flow pattern of fuel cell.

  • 본 논문에서는 접속 노드와 무선 채널로 구성되는 무선 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) 접속 구조에서 랜덤 트래픽의 셀 손실율에 대한 성능을 분석하였다. 랜덤 트래픽 환경에 대하여 접속노드는 셀 레벨(cell levell)의 큐잉 모델을 적용하였다. 그리고 무선 채널을 버스트 에러 환경으로 고려하여 무선 ATM 접속 구조의 셀 손실율을 나타내는 수식을 도출하였다. 무선 ATM접속 구조에서 랜덤 트래픽의 셀 손실율 성능을 개선하기 위해 FEC(Forward Error Correction) 기법을 적용할 수 있는데, 본 논문에서는 여러 FEC 기법을 적용한 경우의 셀 손실율 성능을 정량적으로 비교 분석하여 그 중에서 제안한 concatenated 코드가 가장 우수함을 입증하였다.

  • Effects of reactant gas flow rates and starvation on phosphoric acid fuel cell performance were studied. As the reactant gas flow rates increased, the cell performance increased and then the cell maintained constant performance. The optimum flow rates of hydrogen, oxygen and air under galvanostatic condition of 150 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ are found to be 3cc/min${\cdot}\textrm{cm}^2$, 4cc/min${\cdot}\textrm{cm}^2$, and 15cc/min${\cdot}\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. Hydrogen and oxygen starvation resulted in voltage loss of about 5mV and 0-2mV, respectively. The voltage loss was independent of starvation time. These results were discussed from the point of view of electrochemical reaction of the cell.

  • Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) performance degrade when sulfur dioxide is present in the fuel hydrogen gas, this is referred as $SO_2$ poisoning. This paper reveals $SO_2$ poisoning on PEMFC cathode part by measuring electrical performance of single cell under 1 ppm and 5 ppm on $SO_2$ gas operating. The security of $SO_2$ poisoning depended on $SO_2$ concentration under the best operating conditions($65^{\circ}C$ of cell temperature and 100% of relative humidity between anode and cathode). $SO_2$ adsorption occured on the surface of catalyst layer on membrane electrode assembly (MEA), In addition, MEA poisoning by $SO_2$ was cumulative but reversible. After poisoning within 5 ppm $SO_2$ for 1hr, the electrical performance of PEMFC was found to recover up to about 93% by cyclic voltametry scan.

  • Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) is very interesting power source due to high power density, simple construction and operation at low temperature. But it has problems such as high cost, improvement of performance and effect of temperature. These problems can be approached to be solved by using mathematical models which are useful tools for analysis and optimization of fuel cell performance and for heat and water management. In this paper, the present work is to develop an electrochemical model to examine the electrochemical process inside PEM fuel cell. A complete set of considerations of mass, momentum, species and charge is developed and solved numerically with proper account of electrochemical kinetics. When depth of gas channel becomes thinner, diffusion of reactant makes well into gas diffusion layer(GDL) and the performance increases. Although at low current region there is little voltage difference between experimental data of PEM fuel cell and numerical data. When the porosity size of gas diffusion layer for PEM fuel cell is bigger, oxygen diffusion occurs well and oxygen mass fraction appears high in catalyst layer.
