토양 내 토착 미생물에 의한 바이오필름 형성과 흡착을 통한 용존 중금속 제거 (Removal of Dissolved Heavy Metals through Biosorption onto Indigenous Bacterial Biofilm Developed in Soil)

  • 토양 입자 표면에 형성한 토착 미생물 바이오필름에 의하여 중금속을 흡착하므로써 하부 생태계로 이동하지 않고 원위치에 고정화하는 실험을 수행하였다. 토양으로 충진한 컬럼에 초산염, 유산염, 포도당 등의 탄소원을 10일간 공급함으로써 토양에 바이오필름을 형성하였다. 바이오필름 형성 기간 중, 초산염, 유산염, 포도당을 공급한 컬럼의 유출 수량은 탈이온수를 공급한 컬럼의 유출수량에 비하여 각각 98.5%, 97.3%, 94.7%인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 유출수량의 감소는 형성된 바이오필름에 의한 토양 공극 폐색에 의한 것으로 판단된다. 바이오필름이 형성된 토양 컬럼에 Cd, Cr(VI), Cu, Pb, Zn 용액을 주입하며 시간에 따라 유출수를 채집, 중금속을 정량하였다. 바이오필름 컬럼을 통과하여 나온 유출수 중 Cd, Cr(VI), Cu, Zn 농도는 탈이온수 컬럼에 비하여 낮았으며, 이는 토양 입자에 비하여 바이오필름에 의한 이들 중금속 흡착 효율이 높기 때문인 것으로 여겨진다. 바이오필름에 의한 중금속 제거 효율은 토착 미생물에 공급한 탄소원의 종류에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 중금속으로 오염된 토양 내에 중금속을 원위치 고정화하는 기술 개발에 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

저서성 대형무척추동물을 이용한 수중의 다이아지논 및 중금속 제거 (Removal of Diazinon and Heavy Metals in Water by Benthic Macroinvertebrate)

  • The midge samples were undertaken at three streams, representing different surrounding environments, to investigate the contaminant exposure of midge. The content of heavy metals in midge collected in Singil stream were generally higher as a result of input to the industrial effluents with respect to other streams. Adsorption experiments were done to evaluate the possibility of removing contaminants from water with midge. Diazinon and heavy metals were contaminant target compounds in this study. The removal rate of diazinon in water by midge was 60-75%. In the case of Cu, the removal rate was reached around 90% at the lower initial concentration of 1.87 and 0.81 ppm rather than 4.25 ppm. The reduction of concentration of Cr and Cd according to the lapse of time was similar to the Cu, but their removal rates were shown 50% and 60-74%, respectively. The removal rate of Zn by midge represented relatively high level within the experimental condition. No change in concentration of Cr and As with time were occurred at all experimental conditions. It accounts for the fact that the reduction of Cr and As could not be achieved through the adsorption process, using midge.

동전기법에 의한 광산퇴적토의 중금속 제거 특성 (Electrokinetic Removal and Removal Characteristics of Heavy Metals from Metal-Mining Deposit)

  • Electrokinetic remediation technique offers the opportunity to extract heavy metals from soils with high plasticity. The experiment demonstrated the applicability of electrokinetic remediation on metal-mining deposit and the decision of the enhancement method for four kinds of bench-scale studies. According to the sequential extraction of heavy metals in the "I" mining deposit, Pb and Cu were mostly associated with residual fraction and Zn and Cd were associated with water soluble and residual fraction. Therefore, removable fractions by electrokinetic technology was determined by the sum of the fraction of water soluble and exchangeable, which is Cu : 19.53%, Pb : 1.42%, Cd : 52.82%, Zn : 57.28%, respectively. When considering electrical potential, volume of effluent, soil pH, and eliminated rate of contaminant, results determined by sum of each weight were Citric aic+SDS (13) > 0.1N $HNO_3$ (10) > HAc (8) > DDW (4). Therefore, citric acid and SDS mixed solution was determined the best enhancing agent for the remediation of metal mining deposit.g deposit.

  • 본 연구에서는 해안가에서 자생하는 두 종의 해조류(Laminaria japonica와 Kjellmaniella crassifolia)를 생체흡착제로 사용하여 용액중의 중금속(납) 제거 실험을 통해 생체흡착제의 납의 흡착속도와 흡착평형 특성을 연구하였다. 두 종의 해조류을 사용한 납의 생체흡착은 흡착초기 2시간 이내에 평형에 도달하였다. 흡착속도는 유사 2차 흡착속도식에 의해 거의 정확한 모사가 가능하였으며, 여기에서 산출된 속도상수, $k_{2,ad.}$는 각각 $0.883{\times}10^{-3}$$0.628{\times}10^{-3}\;g/mg/min$이었다. 흡착평형은 Langmuir, Redlich-Peterson 및 Koble-Corrigan (Langmuir-Freundlich) 모델식에 의해 잘 모사되었다. 또한, L. japonica와 K. crassifolia의 4가지 중금속에 대한 선택성은 Pb>Cd>Cr>Cu와 Pb>Cu>Cd>Cr순으로 나타났다. 본 실험에 사용된 L. japonica는 pH의 증가에 따라 납의 흡착량도 증가되었다.

폐슬러지를 이용한 흡착·부상 공정에 의한 중금속 제거 (Removal of heavy metals using waste sludge by biosorptive flotation)

  • Waste sludge may be used to recovery wastewater contaminated with heavy metals. The waste sludge is an inexpensive readily available source of biomass for biosorption with metal-bearing wastewater. The biosorption of heavy metals such as Pb(II), Cu(II), Cr(II), and Cd(II) onto waste sludge was investigated in batch ex­periments and waste sludge loaded heavy metals was separated by dissolved air flotation. The biosorption equi­bria of heavy metals could be described by Langmuir and Freundich isotherms. The adsorption capacity for waste sludge was in the sequence of Pb(II)>Cr(II)>Cu(II)>Cd(II). The system attained equilibrium about 20 min. The Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption model effectively described the biosorption equilibrium of Cu(II) and Cr(II) ions on waste sludge. Maximum adsorption capacity of Cu(II) and Cr(II) were 196.08 and 158.73 mg/g, respectively. Solid-liquid separation efficiencies were kept above $95\%$ on waste sludge loaded heavy metals, and were decreased with pH increasing.

중금속이 수생히야신스(부레옥잠)를 이용한 하수처리 공정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Heavy Metals on the Beware Treatment Process by Water Hyacinth)

  • The objective of the this study was to evaluate the effects of heavy metals on the sewage treatment process designed to remove organic material and nutrients using Water- hyacinth ( Eichhornia crassipes ). Batch experiments were carried out using domestic sewage spiked with different level of heavy metal mixtures ( Cd, Pb and Cu ). The specific growth rates of Water- hyacinth ranged from 0.0008 to 0.0015 1/day( operated at water temperatures of 22 ∼30$\circ $c ) and increased as the concentration of heavy metals decreased. The test result showed that the permissible maximum concentrations Cd, Pb and Cu for the growth of Water- hyacinth were 0.5, 1, and 6 mg/ℓ respectively. Under these maximum permissible heavy metal loads, removal rate of organic material, nitrogen and phosphorus were 85%,75% and 75% , respectively, during 40days of the test period.

  • Metal sorption onto the ICS (Iron oxide coated sand) was studied in batch experiments. Heavy metal cations such as Cd, Pb, and Cu, and a metal anion, As, which sporadically exist in mine sites, were tested for the sorptive removal by ICS. In low pH conditions As showed the highest removal efficiency compared to the other metal cations. And the sorption removal of As was apparently pH-independent reaction. However, removal of metal cations increased with pH and above pH 7 most metal cations showed very low soluble concentrations after treatment. Such a high removal ratio of metal cations above the neutral pH appeared predominantly due to precipitation.

유/무기산 혼합용출제를 이용한 중금속(카드뮴,구리)오염토양 처리공법(soil washing/flushing) 개선에 대한 연구 (Improving Soil Washing/flushing Process using a Mixture of Organic/inorganic Extractant for Remediation of Cadmium (Cd) and Copper (Cu) Contaminated Soil)

  • 토양 세척/세정(soil washing/flushing)기법을 적용하여 카드뮴과 구리로 오염된 토양을 처리하기 위해 최적의 유기산 및 무기산 용출제 선정 실험을 batch 및 column test를 통하여 수행하였다. 널리 알려진 EDTA와 비교한 Citric acid는 저분자 유기산 용출제로 구리와 카드뮴의 제거효율이 EDTA를 제외한 다른 유기산 용출제에 비해 처리효율이 높았으며, 탄산은 독성이 가장 낮으면서 토양공극효과를 동시에 수반할 수 있는 무기산 용출제로 확인되었다. 최적의 유/무기산 혼합용출제는 citric acid와 탄산의 혼합 용출제였으며, 최적 농도비는 citric aicd:탄산 = 10:1이었다. 이때의 카드뮴과 구리의 제거효율은 각각 46%와 39%이였다. 탄산은 공극 막힘 현상을 완화시키는 역할으 하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 이는 EDTA + 탄산과 citric acid+탄산에서 용출제의 유량이 점차 증가하는 것을 확인하였따. 따라서, 유/무기산 혼합 용출제는 카드뮴 및 구리로 오염된 토양 처리를 위한 세정 복원기법의 실제현상 적용 시 발생하는 토양공극 막힘 연상을 개선시켜 줄 수 있다.

흡착제로서 분변토 재활용에 관한 연구 (A study on recycling of cast as adsorbent)

  • The purpose of this research is to evaluate the adsorption capacity of casts for heavy metals. The casts were excreted by earthworm, Lumbricus rubellus, after having eaten the paper sludge. Various batch experiments on adsorption were performed to compare cast and activated carbon. The pH increase in solution due to extractives from cast was 1.3 and the cation exchange capacity which implies adsorption capacity for solubles is greater on activated carbon than on cast. According to the results of batch experiment, the removal rates of Pb, Cu, Cr, Zn using the activated carbon and casts as adsorbent were 98%, 93%, 94%, 89%, 82% and 95%, 90%, 88%,80%, 66%, respectivity, and this removal were achived less than 90 minutes. It can be said that casts is so good adsorbent as activated carbon is, although adsorption carbon was found to be some large than those of casts through Freundlich isotherm applied for adsorption of soluble. As a result on the experiment of isothermic adsorption from the mixed component solution in the batch, the order of preferable elements in heavy metal adsorption was found to be Pb>Cd>Cu>Cr>Zn on activated carbon, respectively.
