Foreign investors'shares and their influences on the Korean stock market have never been larger and greater before since the market was completely open to foreign investors in 1992 Quantitatively and qualitatively as well, as a result, changes in the patterns of foreign investments have caused enormous effects on the interactions of major macroeconomic indices of the Korean economy. This paper is intended to investigate the causal relations of the four variables, foreigners'buy-sell ratios, stock returns, ₩/$ exchange rates and $\yen$/$ exchange rates, over the two time periods of the pre-IMF (1996.1.1-1997.8.15) and the post-IMF (1997.8.16-2000.6.15) based on the daily data of the variables. Granger Causality Test, Forecast Error Variance Decomposition(FEVD) using VAR model and Impulse Response Function were implemented for the empirical analysis.
This paper inquires into the causal relationship between R&D investment and GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in Korea. We apply the method of unit-root test, co-integration test, and Hsiao version of the Granger causality test to find the evidence of bi-directional causality between R&D and GDP. However, it is interesting to observe no significant directional effect between government funded R&D and GDP while private sector funded R&D turns out to affect GDP significantly. Utilizing the previous study results on bi-directional relationship between government and private sector funded R&D, we draw the following conclusion: In order to increase GDP, government funded R&D needs to induce private sector to fund more R&D in an effective manner. In this way, government is expected to indirectly participate in the development for better economy in Korea.

In these OECD countries, left-wingers Government focus on unemployment, but right-wingers Government cares more about inflation. It is that inflation and unemployment don't have differential effects across rich and poor and the happiness levels of these two groups are unaffected by identity of the Government in power. The poor people choose to left-wingers Government, but rich people prefer to right-wingers Government. I estimate whether above opinion is correct or not. Especially I check how my results change when I control for aggregate economy activity and government consumption, two variables that could be correlated with inflation and unemployment and affect each Government's happiness differentially. This paper, and I believe much of the happiness literature, can be understood as an application of experienced utility, a conception that emphasis the pleasures derived from private consumption and sentiment of it. In Granger Causality test, private consumption sentiment index related with industrial production interactively in Korea. The business cycles affect on private consumption sentiment index.
The study examines common component existing in five Asian countries from 1991 to 2007. To do this, the daily stock market indices of Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines were used. Using a Vector Autoregressive Model this paper analyzes causal relations and dynamic interactions between five Asian stock markets. The findings in this study indicate that level of five Asian stock markets' stock return linkages are low. First, from the statistics for pair-wise Granger causality tests, I find Granger-causal relationship between Korea and Indonesia and between Malaysia and and Indonesia. Second, from the results of response function and the statistics of variance decomposition, I find that week shocks to Korean stock market return on Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines stock market returns. The results indicate increased Asian stock market linkages but the level is very low. This implies that the benefits of diversification within the five Asian stock markets are still existed.

The present discourse lasts around, information pollution, causes and concerns of information pollution, internet as a major causality and how it affects the decision making ability of an individual. As, information producers in the process to not to lose the readership of their content, and to cater the information requirements of both the electronic and the print readers, reproduce almost the whole of the printed information in digital form as well. Abundant literature is also equally produced in electronic format only, thereon, sharing this information on hundreds of social networking sites, like, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Flicker, Digg, LinkedIn, etc. without attributions to original authors, have created almost a mess of this whole information produced and disseminated. Accordingly, the study discusses about the sources of information pollution, the aspects of unstructured information along with plagiarism. Towards the end of the paper stress has been laid on information literacy, as how it can prove handy in addressing the issue with some measures, which can help in regulating the behaviour of information producers.

We examine the causal relationship between telecommunication standardization investment and the sale of telecommunication industry by using Granger causality model. Statistically, we show that telecommunication standardization investment precedes the sale of telecommunication industry. As a result we suggest that the investment on telecommunication standardization should be proceed to promote the sale of telecommunication industry.
The purpose of this study is to analyze nursing students' proficiency with ST(Systems Thinking) approach concerning asthma patient nursing process. For this study, 20 nursing students created causality cognitive maps which were consisted of the contents of 'asthma nursing care'. The word association and causality cognitive map were used to estimate ability of the ST. As a result, the students failed to understand the nursing process with the ST approach, or alternatively they applied low level ST approach and had a lower understanding of it. The findings of this study suggest that the development of a ST-based nursing educational program in order for nursing students to improve their ST ability as well as knowledge integration for multidisciplinary practice.
The paper deals with the impact of information and communications technology on carbon emissions and economic growth in South Korea. The quarterly time series data from the first quarter of 1970 to the third quarter of 2010 (163 observations) are collected and retrieved from the Bank of Korea database. The paper examines long-run equilibrium relationships using cointegration techniques and Granger causality with vector error correction models. In directional causality tests, information and communications technology shows highly significant positive effects on economic growth and marginal effect on carbon emissions. Carbon emissions and economic growth exhibit an inverse relationship with each other; that is, carbon emissions have an inverse relation to economic growth and economic growth does not significantly affect carbon emissions in South Korea. We also note possible implications regarding growth policies and the information communications technology and "green" technology sectors for economies in the range represented by Korea's 1970 - 2010 data.
This paper investigates that the Granger-causality between ODA FDI Trade, and economic growth in Senegal over the last 50 years and ODA, FDI, Trade have a impact on the Senegal's economic growth using the Vector Error Correction Model. The empirical results do confirm a directional causality between the variables considered. It also showed that an increase of ODA in the Senegal has positive effect on GDP growth and FDI, which are important factors of economic growth for poor country like Senegal. Underdeveloped nation has been suffered from insufficient savings or capital for economic growth; therefore, developed nations have to provide enough ODA to supply initial capital formation for growth, so-called, seed money. In a nutshell, ODA as a priming the pump is required and expanded continuously for Africa country's economic growth.
The main purpose of collecting and analyzing operating experience events is to look for insights to improve safety. The underlying assumption is the correlation and causality between events with different safety significances. The analysis of this assumption could be valuable to optimize operating experience feedback programs and to enhance safety. This paper analyses the correlation between events with different safety significances. Groups of events from six nuclear energy related databases are considered. The findings are that a correlation exists but with various levels and not as large or consistent as might be expected across different databases. These results might be the basis for further work to analysis causality, to find out how a similarity in causes influences the correlation, and finally to improve the operating experience program.
