가축분 퇴비의 중금속 함량 및 화학적 형태별 특성 (Heavy Metals Contents and Chemical Characteristics in Compost from Animal Manures)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the total heavy metals contents and chemical forms in the animal manure compost. Materials and methods: A total of 109 compost samples were collected throughout the country and classified into three groups in accordance with the raw materials; pig manure, poultry manure and mixed(pig+poultry+cattle) manure. The compost samples were analyzed for total metal content and sequential chemical extraction to estimate the quantities of metals. Results: Concentrations of Zn and Cu in several compost samples were higher than the maximum acceptable limits by the Korea Compost Quality Standards. Concentrations of Zn, Cu, and Cd in compost samples were 257~5,102, 68~1,243, and 0.02~2.54 mg/kg respectively, while Cr, Ni, As, and Pb were < 20 mg/kg. The concentrations of heavy metals in pig manure compost were higher than those of both the poultry and the mixed manure compost. The predominant forms for extracted metals were Cr, Ni, Zn, As, and Pb, residual; Cu, organic; and Cd, carbonate. Conclusions: Results indicate that the Zn and Cu contents in compost were higher than other heavy metals and the heavy metal contents were greater in pig manure compost followed by mixed and poultry manure compost. To prevent the accumulation of heavy metals in soil where animal manure compost is applied, strategy for reducing heavy metal concentrations in animal manure and compost must be considered.

가축분이 초지의 토양과 생산성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Animal Menure on the Soil Characters and Productivity of Grassland)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of animal stable manure on the dry matter yield, botanical composition, crude protein content rates, in vitro digestibility and soil characters with treatments, which were divided into cattle manure, swine manure and poultly excreta of 375 and 750kg/lOa, respectively. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. A comparison made on the grass yield for one year period following the termination of the experiment did not indicate any signification in the yield of dry matter difference between chemical fertilizer treatment and 750kg/10a of organic manure. 2. Botanical composition was not shown an increasing of weed or bare land in organic manure of 375 and 750kg/lOa application during the whole period of growth. 3. Crude protein content and in vitro digestibility were shown an increasing tendency according to the increase of organic manure application. 4. Crude protein yield in organic manure of 750kg/10a was not a large difference compared with chemical fertilizer treatment. 5. Soil composition of organic manure had higher than the soil composition of chemical fertilizer treatment, which was shown an increasing tendency according to the increase of organic manure. 6. Therefore, It was suggested that the effect of organic manure on dry matter yield, botanical composition was similar to chemical fertilizer treatment and soil composition of organic manure had higher organic matter, available phosphate, potassium and C.E.C than the soil composition of chemical fertilizer treatment.

옥수수-연맥조합의 사초수량과 토양특성에 미치는 소 액상분뇨 (Forage Yields of Corn-Oats Cropping System and Soil Properties as Affected by Liquid Cattle Manure)

  • 모든 낙농경영에 있어서 우분의 관리계획은 중요하다. 본 연구는 옥수수-연맥 작부조합에서 소 액상분뇨의 시용수준을 달리하였을 때 잔여효과로 인한 사료가치, 질소 회수율, 총사초수량 및 토양특성 변화를 구명하고자 1997년 4월부터 1997년 10일까지 축산기술연구소 사료포장에서 수행하였고, 8처리[무비구, 화학비료구(요소) $320kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$, 계속시용구 320, 640, $960kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$, 잔여효과구 200, 400, $600kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$]를 난괴법 3번복으로 설계배치 하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 수확 당시 추파 연맥의 평균 초고는 계속시용구가 70.2cm, 잔여효과구가 61.4cm였다. 평균 건물률은 잔여효과구가 계속시용구보다 0.9% 높았으나, 처리간의 유의성은 없었다. 계속시용구가 잔여효과구보다 조단백질 함량은 1.0%, ADF 함량은 1.6%, NDF 함량은 3.1% 높았으며 처리간 유의성도 인정되었다(P<0.05). 사초의 총건물수량은 11,365에서 $25,668kg\;ha^{-1}$ 범위로, $960kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ > $600kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ > $640kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ > $400kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ 순이었다(P<0.05). 대조구와 비교하여 비효가는 $960kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$가 158%였고, $600kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$는 139%였다. 질소회수율은 $200kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$가 50%로 제일 높았고, 그리고 $400kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$, $600kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$, $320kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ 순으로 높았다. 토양중 치완성양이온함량은 잔여효과구가 계속시용구에 비해 높았다. 이상의 연구결과를 볼 때 옥수수-연맥 작부조합에서 총사초의 건물수량, 비효가, 질소 회수율 면에서 소액상분뇨 $600kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$가 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

우분 압착 처리가 우분 고체연료 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Compression Treatment on Characteristics of Solidified Cow Manure Fuel)

  • 본 연구는 고체연료 가공원료로 사용할 우분을 압착하는 방식을 적용하여 수분을 감소시킨 뒤에 성형가공한 우분 고체연료의 특성을 분석하기 위하여 수행되었다. 우분을 압착 처리함에 따라 VS/TS 비율 (총 고형물중 휘발성 고형물 비율)과 수분감소 효과가 높아졌다. 젖소 분의 경우 압착처리에 의해 제거되는 수분의 양은 무게를 기준으로 하여 투입분뇨의 21~26% 수준에 해당하였다. 압착에 의해 분리된 침출수의 비중은 약 1.01이었다. 한우 분의 경우에는 수분 제거량이 약 15~20%(w/w) 수준이었고 이때 발생한 탈리액의 비중은 0.99 수준이었다. 탈수된 우분은 고체연료 가공방법 적용에 의해 쉽게 구(공) 모양의 형태로 가공되었다. 가공된 구 모양의 고체연료를 건조하였을 경우 건조효율은 직경이 작은 경우에 그 효율이 더 높게 나타났다. 고체연료로서의 열량 값은 직경 10~15mm 크기로 가공한 고체연료가 본 시험에서 가공된 다른 크기의 직경을 가진 고체연료보다 상대적으로 더 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이 결과는 섬유질이 많은 우분의 특성상 10~15mm 크기의 가공품에 섬유소가 잘 부착되기 때문인 것으로 판단된다.

축분 첨가제를 한우분에 첨가시 pH와 유해성 병원균에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effects of Manure Additives on pH and Pathogen Populations in Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) Manure)

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of applying alum (aluminum sulfate) and aluminum chloride on pH and pathogen populations of Hanwoo manure. A total of 36 steers (8 months old and averaging 300 kg in weight) were used in this trial and allotted to 9 pens (3 replication pens per group with 4 steers per experimental unit, $5{\times}8$ m). Chemical additives were applied as a top dressing with garden rake to a depth of 1 cm of manure with wood shavings in each treatment. The chemical amendments were control (without chemical amendments), 50 g of alum and 50 g of aluminum chloride/kg of Hanwoo manure. The experiment was carried out for 4 weeks. Adding alum and aluminum chloride to Hanwoo manure reduced (P < 0.05) pH compared to untreated controls during the 4-wk period. Both levels of the alum and aluminum chloride treatments tested decreased (P < 0.05) Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica populations in Hanwoo manure at 2 and 4 weeks. It appears that the reduction in pathogen populations was primarily associated with the lower manure pH. If more strict environmental regulations are put into effect regarding pathogen populations from Hanwoo facilities, treating Hanwoo manure with alum and aluminum chloride may be a good management practice.

가축분뇨와 간척지 사료작물의 메탄발생량과 생분해도 (Biochemical Methane Potential and Biodegradability of Animal Manure and Cultivated Forage Crops at the Reclaimed Tideland)

  • Anaerobic biodegradability (AB), which can be determined with the ultimate methane yield by the decomposition of organic materials, is one of the important parameters for the design and the operation of anaerobic digestion plant. In this study, Biochemical methane potential (BMP) test has been carried out to evaluate the methane yields of animal manures such as pig and cattle slurries, and different forage crops cultivated at the reclaimed tideland such as maize, sorghum, barley, rye, Italian ryegrass (IRG), rape, rush, and waste sludge produced from slaughterhouse wastewater treatment plant (SSWTP). In the ultimate methane yield and biodegradability of animal manure, those of pig slurry were 345 $mlCH_4/gVS_{fed}$ and 44.7% higher than 247 $mlCH_4/gVS_{fed}$ and 46.4% of cattle slurry (Cat. 2). The ultimate methane yield and biodegradability of spike-crop rye (Rye 1) were 442.36 $mlCH_4/gVS_{fed}$ and 86.5% the highest among different forage crops, those of the other forage crops ranged from 306.6 to 379 $mlCH_4/gVS_{fed}$ of methane yield with the AB having the range of about 60 to 77%. Therefore the forage crops could be used as a good substrate to increase the methane production and to improve the biodegradability in anaerobic co-digestion together with animal manure.

우사깔짚에서 발생되는 온실가스 배출량 산정: 모의 실험결과 (Emission Rate of Greenhouse Gases from Bedding Materials of Cowshed Floor: Lab-scale simulation study)

  • 우사바닥깔짚으로부터의 온실가스 배출량을 산정하기 위해 깔짚으로의 분뇨부하량을 정확히 조절할 수 있는 모의우사바닥에서의 깔짚두께별 $CH_4$$N_2O$ 가스 발생량을 조사하였다. 톱밥이 10, 15cm 높이로 깔린 $0.2583m^2$(L 0.63 m${\times}$W 0.41 m) 크기의 우사바닥으로의 한우와 젖소의 분뇨부하는 친환경 축사표준모델의 축사면적과 축종별 일일 분뇨배설량 자료를 기준으로 한우는 $1.586kg/m^2/d$, 젖소는 $3.588kg/m^2/d$로 정하고 24시간 주기로 분뇨를 투입/혼합하면서 깔짚으로부터 발생하는 온실가스 발생량을 조사하였다. 총 12개의 모의우사바닥을 이용하여 모든 실험은 3반복으로 3회에 걸쳐 수행되었다(5~7월, 9~11월, 2~4월). 그 결과 단위면적당 $CH_4$ 발생량은 한우, 젖소 모두에서 깔짚이 두꺼운 경우 적게 발생하는 경향을 보였으나 통계적으로 유의적인 차이가 없었으며(p<0.05), $N_2O$ 발생량의 경우에도 깔짚두께에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 한우와 젖소를 비교할 때 단위면적당 온실가스 발생량은 젖소가 $CH_4$는 약 7.5배, $N_2O$는 약 1.2배 많았으며 연간 배출되는 $CH_4$는 한우 7.4 g/head/year, 젖소 130.4 g/head/year로 젖소가 한우에 비해 21배 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 $N_2O$는 한우 3,267 g/head/year, 젖소 14,719 g/head/year로 젖소가 약 4.5 배 많았으나 배설된 N 대비 $N_2O$-N은 한우 0.2148 kg $N_2O$-N/kg N, 젖소 0.1632 kg $N_2O$-N/kg N으로 오히려 한우가 높았으며 IPCC 2006 GL값 0.07 kg $N_2O$-N/kg N과 비교시 한우는 약 3.07배, 젖소는 약 2.33배 높은 것으로 나타났다.

가축분 시용조건에서 4종 수수 X 수단그라 교잡종의 질산태질소 함량과 당도 및 채식률 비교 연구 (Studies on the Nitrate Concentration, Sugar Content and Intake of Four Sorghum X Sudangrass Hybrids Grown under Application of Animal Manure)

  • 본 시험은 가축분 시용 조건에서 $수수{\times}수단그라스$ 교잡종중 우리나라에서 많이 재배하고 있는 장려품종 4종(P 988, Jumbo, TE-Hay-grazer, NC+ 855)을 공시하여 생육시기별, 잎과 줄기의 부위별 질산태 질소 함량과 당도 및 가축 기호도 등을 구명하였다. 가축분은 톱밥과 50:50으로 섞은 발효분으로 ha당 우분 40톤, 돈분 및 계분은 30톤을 파종 보름전 시용하였으며, 파종은 ha당 30kg의 종자를 휴폭 50cm로 1995년 4월 21일에 실시하였다. 수수${\times}$수단그라스 교잡종의 질산태 질소 함량은 초장 50~50cm일 때 365mg/kg, 초장 100~120cm일 때 501mg, 초장 200~220cm일 때 502mg이었으며, 품종별로는 Jumbo에서 평균 317mg으로 낮았고 P 988(526mg)과 NC+ 855 (519mg)에서 높았다(P<0.05). 또 품종에 관계없이 줄기(376mg)가 잎(135mg)에 비해 질산태 질소함량이 크게 높았으며(P<0.05), 같은 잎과 줄기에서는 아래부위로 갈수록 질산태 질소 함량은 유의적으로 증가하였다(P<0.05). 품종별 당도는 NC+ 855가 평균 $3.9^{\circ}$ 로 가장 높았으며, 다음이 P 988($3.4^{\circ}$), TE-Hay grazer ($3.2^{\circ}$), Jumbo($2.9^{\circ}$) 순이었다. 채식률은 P 988과 NC+ 855에서 Jumbo와 TE-Haygrazer에 비해 다소 높은 경향이었으나 장려품종 4종간 유의적인 채식률 차이는 없었다.

Breeding Values for Carcass Traits at Calf Markets as Determinant of Feeding Length in Japanese Black Cattle: an Exploratory Study

  • Japanese Black cattle (Wagyu) are fed for a long period to produce high quality beef, however, extended feeding often causes inefficiency and greater environmental load mainly derived from their manure. The objectives of this study were to analyze changes in feeding length by listing breeding values (BVs) at calf markets and the relationships between BVs and carcass characteristics of 4,052 Japanese Black cattle, and to examine the feasibility of optimizing feeding length by referring to listed BVs. BV classes A, B, and C were defined based on BVs of cows in Shimane Prefecture as follows: an upper quarter of BVs was classified as A, a second quarter as B, and under the average as C. For cattle sold at calf markets in the first term of 1996, just before the start of BV listing, the feeding length of cattle with class B BVs for the beef marbling standard (BMS) was longer (p>0.05) than that of class A cattle. However, in the second term of 1996, just after the start of BV listing, the feeding length of class B cattle became shorter (p<0.001) than that of class A cattle. Then, the feeding lengths of both classes showed no significant differences. Feeding lengths of both class A and B BVs for carcass weight (CW) changed similarly to the corresponding BV classes for BMS. The analysis of the relationships among the listed BV classes and the actual carcass characteristics showed that class A cattle had a higher (p<0.001) BMS than class B cattle, and that the higher-class cattle had a heavier CW (p<0.05). On the basis of previous reports, the cattle, particularly those with lower genetic marbling ability, seem to only increase marbling at markedly low efficiency for a few months before slaughter. Therefore, the finding that carcass characteristics corresponded to their class of BVs suggests that an optimum feeding length based on listed BVs not only increases the efficiency of beef production, but also reduces the environmental load.

NH3, CO2 and N2O emissions in relation to soil mineralization from the soils amended with Different Manures in vitro Incubation

  • In order to compare greenhouse gases emission from different animal manures and to explore how different animal manures effect on soil mineralization, three kinds of materials, cattle, goat and chicken manure were amended to soil for 14 days incubation as CtS (cattle manure-amended soil), GS (goat manure-amended soil) and ChS (chicken manure-amended soil). Cumulative $NH_3$ emissions in all treatments were rapidly increased until day 7 and then it was slightly increased in three manure-amended soils but maintained in control until day 14. GS had the highest $NH_3$ emission at $0.14mg\;kg^{-1}$ during the entire experimental period. Emissions of $CO_2$ were highly increased by 7.8-, 9.0- and 12.4-fold in CtS, GS and ChS, respectively, compared to control at day 14. A significant increase of $N_2O$ emission in all treatments occurred within 5 days and then it was slightly increased until day 14. $N_2O$ emission was 2-fold higher in all manure-amended soils than that of control. Compared to day 1, inorganic N ($NH_4{^+}$ plus $NO_3{^-}-N$) content was highly increased in all four treatments at day 14. The increase rate was the highest in CtS treatment. Net N mineralization was increased by 4.0-, 2.4- and 2.9-fold in CtS, GS and ChS, respectively, compared to control. These results indicate that increase of $NH_3$, $CO_2$ and $N_2O$ gas emissions was positively related to high N mineralization.
