Due to an increase of the importance of E-catalogue on electronic commerce, E-catalogue systems have been prevailing for their production and efficient management around Web environment. In this study, we categorize service factors off-catalogue systems into three aspects contents-providing, user participation, and system management, and we measure their impacts on user satisfaction. The results of the study show that richness, design, trust, interaction, function of transaction management, system extensibility, system stability, and security have been found out to be significant factors to affect user satisfaction.

Spatial information has recently been recognized as one of the major subjects of interest in information technology. With increasing variety and quantity of spatial data on the web, searching and maintaining these data are becoming a much focussed area of research. Interoperability is the key technology in solving the complexities of spatial data in web services. The problem of maintenance and searching of spatial data in an interoperable web service environment can be solved by establishing standardized metadata of spatial information. Then using the standardized metadata, catalog web services can be deployed for autonomous searching and binding of spatial data. This study investigates the international standard for spatial data metadata(ISO/TC211 19115) and deployed catalog web service based on this metadata. Various heterogeneous spatial data of Seoul Metropolitan region were then used for experimental implementation of catalog web service.

Several environmental problems have occurred and extremely affected throughout the East Asia region. Satellite imageries and spatial information have been used in the applications of environmental and natural hazard management for years. Sharing these data and resources in the community is considered as one of the optimal solution. It would consequently bring cost saving to all participated countries and eventually be beneficial to mankind as a whole. Encouraged by these factors, ASEAN＋3 Satellite Image Archive for Environmental Study project was submitted by Thailand in the 3rd Senior Official Meeting between ASEAN, China, Japan and Korea (SEOM＋3 Meeting) and approved by the SEOM＋3. The main objectives of this project are to share satellite images, information related to natural resources and environmental issues, and to provide data information services to all ASEAN＋3 countries. The proposed system is basically embedded by distributed system. The network of data users, data providers, and the center will be established using the Internet. User can access, navigate, display, and even download some archived contents. Its service site can be generally categorized into two parts, which are environmental related data archive and the Integrated satellite image catalogue. The extension of web based GIS is also planned for future development so that GIS users can conduct some preliminary analysis directly on line. This presentation will indicate scope of work, system, working scenario, and work plan of the project.

This research is a case study that describes the NUCLIS21(Nuclear Information System 21), an integrated web-based information management system of KAERI(Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute), implemented to carry out the role of a national nuclear information center with government support as an information infra implementation programme. Through its user-centered single interface, the system aims at building an infrastructure for the national nuclear information center, as well as improving the information management system of the TID(Technical Information Department) within the institute. The system consists of two major parts which are an integrated module of the MIS and six different kinds of system. These include the Integral search system with OPAC, My Library, the Acquisition system, the Catalogue system, the Information Supply system, and the Serial Publication system. The DB is composed of Bibliographical DB, Original text DB and Abstract DB. A special feature of this system was designed as a unified network system through connection to MIS(Management Integration System) of the institute, so users can get research information for projects. Therefore, they have access to available information easily and access to the ongoing service of this system. Furthermore, users can share information by using our system. The survey has it that 75.7%(200 persons), 62.1%(164 persons) and 78.4%(207 persons) of the respondents are satisfied with the fidelity, speediness, and convenience of the system respectively, and the overall satisfaction of the respondents is comparably high.
