The purpose of this study is to review the historical development of British Museum Library and its cataloging rules which really marked the beginning of the modern era of cataloguing. The results of the study can be summarized as follows (1) Sir Anthony Panizzi was the most creative force in the history of the British Museum Library. He devoted himself to the formation of the British Museum Library cataloging policy and the compilation of printed catalogues. Moreover, he laid down the sound acquisitions policy and the vigorous a n.0, pplication of the copyright deposit privilege. He designed a great circular reading room and raised standards of library service and administration. (2) British Museum Library Cataloging Rules : 1. are notable for their pioneering efforts-this was the first major catalogue code-and for their influence on all subsequent codes. 2. introduced the concept of corporate authorship but has never dealt with problem very satisfactory. 3. went to great lengths to avoid title entry. 4. used a number of form heading, example for, ACADEMIES, PERIODICAL PUBLICATION, EPHEMERIDES, CATALOGUES etc.

AACR의 합동상임위원회는 2009년을 목표로 AACR을 전면 개정하여 새로운 규칙이라고 할 수 있는 RDA를 준비하고 있다. RDA는 전통적인 도서관목록이 아니라 웹 기반환경에서 사용할 수 있으며 모든 매체에 대한 서지기술과 접근점을 제공하기 위한 다국적 내용의 표준을 지향하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 RDA의 제정배경과 특징, 내용구조에 대해서 검토하였다.

In a recent systematic study, C. Sandon and F. Zanello offered 30 conjectured identities for partitions. As a consequence of their study of partition identities arising from Ramanujan's formulas for multipliers in the theory of modular equations, the present authors in an earlier paper proved three of these conjectures. In this paper, we provide proofs for the remaining 27 conjectures of Sandon and Zanello. Most of our proofs depend upon known modular equations and formulas of Ramanujan for theta functions, while for the remainder of our proofs it was necessary to derive new modular equations and to employ the process of duplication to extend Ramanujan's catalogue of theta function formulas.

접촉쌍성은 물리적 특성에 따라 5가지의 유형으로 분류되고 있다. 그러나 이와 같은 분류 이외에도 질량비가 극단적으로 작은(q＜0.2) 접촉쌍성이 또 다른 유형으로 분류됨을 확인하였다. Svechnikov & Kuznetsova(1990)의 목록에 따르면 이러한 유형의 접촉쌍성은 주성의 분광형이 A형의 한정된 영역에 분포하며 여러 가지 물리적 특성에 있어서 조기형 접촉쌍성과 만기형 접촉쌍성을 양분하는 중심 영역에 분포하고 있다.

The aim of this thesis is to attempt a bibliographical analysis of Gu Geub Eui Seo that were published during Yi-Dynasty. In this study maters that were treated concretely are the same as follows: 1. Formulation of a system about Gu Geub Eui Seo that were published from Three Kingdoms to Yi-Dynasty. 2. Background of each period about compilation ad publication of mathematical materials. 3. Investigation to transition, block book and domain of subject of Gu Geub Eui Seo through analysis on each period of publication. But it was not easy to contrast materials on each catalogue with existed books one by one. In further, we must a new chance for better a n.0, ppreciation about Yi-Dynasty's Gu Geub Eui Seo through continuous studies to this field.

This study is on capacity building and attitude to work of librarians in Edo State public libraries, Nigeria. Investigation was on the capacity building programs in the Edo State public libraries, the levels of librarians' awareness and participation in the programs, methods of building the capacity programs, influence on the librarians' attitudes to work and factors militating against the programs. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study and the entire population of 23 librarians were used. Results indicate that the capacity building programs in the library include computer literacy skills, online public access catalogue (OPAC), Internet collection management and general trends in librarianship. The methods used in building the capacity programs in the library include conferences, workshops/seminars, on-the-job and internally organized courses. Respondents indicated very low level of participation in the programs and a negative influence of the programs on their attitudes to work. Various problems were identified as militating against the capacity building programs and solutions were suggested.

The sample of sub dwarfs are selected from LHS catalogue on the bases of the reduced proper motion diagram utilizing Chui criteria, and confirmed with the available photometric and/or kinematic data. Among them, 20 sub dwarfs have trigonometric parallaxes with accuracy better than $20\%$. The color­absolute magnitude relation is derived with them. By adopting this color-magnitude relation and $V/V_m$ method, we have derived the sub dwarf luminosity function over the absolute magnitude range of $M_v$= 4.5 and 9.5. This halo luminosity function is consistent with that of Eggen(1987). By adopting the available mass-luminosity relations for halo stars, we have found that the halo IMF is steeper than disk IMFs of Scalo(1986) and Salpter(1955) in this small mass region.

During the year 2016 the newly installed NYSC (National Youth Science Center) 1m optical telescope was officially commissioned. Calls for future observational programmes were announced. During test observations we carried out an observational project aimed at follow-up observations of transiting extrasolar planets. To predict future transits we developed the "TransitSearch" code implemented in Python utilizing transit information from the Open Exoplanet Catalogue. During three nights in April and June 2016 we observed planetary transits of HAT-P-3b and TrES-3b. Preliminary light curves of the transit events are presented alongside with best-fit models. From this experience we plan to improve the optical alignment and photometric performance by operating the 1m NYSC telescope in a strongly out-of-focus mode for transit observations.

The spectral types of stars can be classified by using Balmer discontinuity($D_B$) and wavelength(${\lambda}_B$) expressed in terms of effective temperatures appeared in Balmer discontinuity. In this research, in order to classify stars, we used the well established observational data of high dispersion spectrophotometry for the spectral types and luminosity classes of stars in the Breger(1976) catalogue. Balmer discontinuity by effective temperatures of stars was accurately measured, and the ${\lambda}_B$ was replaced to luminosity classes of MK system, because of the close relationship between the As and luminosity classes. We measured the energy gradients(${\phi}_R$) of stars which were expressed as a function of spectral types in the interval of ${\lambda}{\lambda}4,000{\sim}4600{\AA}$, and then obtained a new physical parameter(${\phi}$) from the $D_B$ and ${\phi}_B$. The new parameter, ${\phi}$ can be used instead of HD classifications of stars and can be used widely for spectrophotometrical classifications of stars.

Speckle Interferometer equipped with an ITT intensified CCD have been used on the NCUO ( National Central University Observatory, Taiwan) 24-inch telescope for studying the orbits of bright binary systems selected from the Yale's Bright Star Catalogue. The high resolution and high sensitivity ITT intensified solid state video camera ( F4577 ) has external gain and gate control functions which will simplify the design of the speckle camera and allow us to do precise speckle photometry. The goal of this project is trying to study the bright binary systems with separations between the average size of seeing disk and the diffraction limit of the 24-inch telescope. Recently some observing data have been reduced and compared with the other teams' results. We are now improving the data reduction technology and trying to use real time observing mode on the monthly routine observation.
