The Ewha Music Database (EMDB) is an online database comprised of primary source materials related to music education from East Asia during the modern era (1880 to 1945) when Korea, Japan, and China were geopolitically and culturally intertwined. We developed the incipit search in EMDB as an embedded tool. This is the first attempt in Korea to implement a unique search function of musical data using alphabets of musical notes. Unlike in traditional search system that uses general literature information search conditions, such as author, title, publisher, year, number of pages, etc., it offers a new way of searching a musical piece/work and sheet music. This study confirms that digital information technology is an important methodology for research of music culture as a field of humanities.

We present the scanned digital images and their preliminary analysis results of objective-prism plates taken with the Michigan Curtis Schmidt telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory. In order to separate an individual spectrum of a star, it should be required to identify each field star in the plate. Using the PPM(Position and Proper Motion) catalog, we are verifying which star corresponds to the spectrum in a plate. In addition to this, we plan to devise the method for wavelength calibration in each spectrum. Finally we will make them for public use, not only for professional astronomers but also for high school and college students for encouraging them to be interested in the astronomy, especially astronomical spectroscopy and stellar astronomy.

This study was performed to help on the activation plan the purchase of apparel by shopping(catalog/TV/Internet) through investigating and analyzing elements related with apparel purchasing practice, purchasing satisfaction degree, and information demand. The subjects were 165 housewives residing in Cheongju who had bought apparel through home shopping more than once. The questionnaire survey was conducted from July to August, 2002. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Housewives had most a lot of occasions that purchased clothing through TV shopping among home shopping method. 2) Major clothing items that purchased through home shopping were underwear and casual wear. 3) Satisfaction for apparel product purchased via home shopping was difference partially item wise. 4) Respondents were satisfied with design, color, sewing state, but dissatisfied with size and materials. 5) When purchasing apparel through home shopping, respondents recognized the necessity of information on size, exchange/refund/returned policy, color, design, resolution of the product picture, care of instruction, texture and detail of apparel.

Defense analysis & evaluation includes menace analysis, validation analysis, problem analysis, scientific technical analysis, technical trade-off analysis, alternative analysis, cost analysis, etc. Reliable related data is required to perform these analysis activities efficiently. but in case of these defense analysis & evaluation data acquisition system, the data is insufficient and scattered about each organization. The data of database system is also not utilized sufficiently. Abroad technical data is also low level data such as catalog or military officer's collection. Therefore, this paper propose defense analysis & evaluation data acquisition system by systems engineering process. we also propose construction method of data acquisition system.

In the present study we have determined the distance moduli for seven globular clusters M2, M3, Ml0, M12, NGC 2808, NGC 6229, and NGC 6752, whose metallicities are in the range -1.54 < [Fe/H] < -1.10. We have derived distances for them by the main-sequence fitting method using a sample of local subdwarfs, whose accurate parallaxes are taken from the Hipparcos Catalog. The derived distance moduli are 15.52 for M2, 14.98 for M3, 14.23 for Ml0, 14.03 for M12, 15.56 for NGC 2808, 17.34 for NGC 6229, and 13.29 for NGC 6752.

We have analysed the proper motion data of LHS catalog, to derive the faint end of the luminosity function more precise than ever before, by mean absolute method, and by making use of the reudced proper motion diagram. It is found that the relations between the mean absolute magnitude and the reduced proper motion for main sequence stars, subdwarfs, and white dwarfs are so different that the proper application of an appropriate relation to each group is much more important. The derived luminosity function shows the broad maximum peak from $M_B{\sim}14$ to $M_B{\sim}17$ and declines after $M_B{\sim}17$ up to $M_B{\sim}22$.

This study is about the description method & scope of maintenability in window components which have been applied to the remodelling work in Apartment Housing. Already we did established the maintenability performance index through the preceding research in recent. It is defined as changeability, prefabrication, coordination. and capacity of performance preservation. As the results of analysys on the performance information that is reported by catalog & internet media, the ratio of adaptation as a maintenabilty performance was revealed to percentage of 11(11%). And as the respects of represented content, majority of the performance information only have dealt with advertising-effect, rather than physical performance make easy to change and separat.

The purpose of this study was to compare shopping orientations and purchase criteria according to the occupational status; professionals, non-professionals, and homemakers among female consumers. Subjects were selected from mailing lists through a random sampling technique in the United States. Collection of the research data was made using an adaptation of the Total Design Method for implementing mail surveys. ANOVA, Regression, and Duncan Test were used to conduct the data analysis on 254 out of 1000 questionnaires. The three job status showed significant differences in 5 shopping orientations(sex role oriented, fashion conscious, credit oriented, catalog oriented, and value oriented). Even after controlling the effect of income and education level, significant differences were noticed in 4 shopping orientations, the exception being value conscious. Brand, price, and country of origin among the job status groups also showed significant differences in results for purchase criteria.

This research introduces the efficient modeling and manufacturing method using reverse engineering combined with rotational simulation of a pair of screw and mill-turn machining realized a proposed NC program. Because previously developed model had insufficient flow measuring accuracy, we considered that matter in the aspect of method of modeling and performance test. For that reason we modified the modeling which could minimize a gab between male and female screw, and developed precise tester which consists of constant tank, flowmeter and load cell, etc., and then conducted the test for defining characteristic and accuracy of flowmeter and repeated same test 5-times. Consequently we could obtain satisfied measuring accuracy and reproducibility indicated in the catalog of master model. Hence we give our conclusion as to the validity of developing accurate screw type flowmeter using the proposed process such as reverse engineering, mill-turn machining and precise performance test.

The classic graphical method to determine the epicenter uses differences between the arrival times of P and S waves at each station. In this research, a robust approach is proposed, which provides a fast and intuitive estimation of earthquake epicenters. This method uses an empirical relationship between epicentral distance and traveltime of the first arrival P phase of local or regional earthquake. The relationship enables us to estimate epicentral distances and draw epicentral circles from each station with P-traveltimes counted from a probable origin time. As the assigned time is getting close to the origin time of the earthquake, epicentral circles begin to intersect each other at a possible location of the epicenter. Then the possibility of the epicenter can be expressed by a function of the time and the space. We choose the location which gives the minimum standard deviation of the origin time as an estimated epicenter. In this research, 918 P arrival times from 84 events occurring from 2005 to 2006 listed in the KMA earthquake catalog are used to determine the empirical P-traveltime function of epicentral distances.
