  • EtherCAT is an Ethernet-based fieldbus system standardized in IEC 61158 and SEMI, and widely used in the fields of factory automation, semiconductor equipment and robotics. In this paper, we summarize the current status of Xenomai real-time framework and RTnet, which are essential for Linux operating systems to operate in real-time, and implement a real-time EtherCAT master system with these open sources. The real-time performance of the implemented EtherCAT master is evaluated according to Intel network controllers 82574L, I219, I210, and I225, respectively. The results show that the implemented EtherCAT master provides precise control performance for control frequencies from 1KHz to 8KHz and similar performance for I219, I210, and I225, and relatively slightly larger jitter for 82574L.

  • In female tract, mammalian sperm develop hyperactivated motility which is a key physiological event for sperm to fertilize eggs. This motility change is triggered by Ca2+ influx via the sperm-specific Ca2+ channel, CatSper. Although previous studies in human and mice largely contributed to understanding CatSper and Ca2+ signaling for sperm hyperactivation, the differences on their activation mechanisms are not well understood yet. There are several studies to examine expression and significance of the CatSper channel in non-human and non-mouse models, such as domestic animals. In this review, I summarize key knowledge for the CatSper channel from previous studies and propose future aspects for CatSper study using sperm from domestic animals.

  • 본 논문에서는 CAT(Cellular Automata Transform) 성질을 이용하여 의료 영상의 단계적 변환을 제안한다.

  • In this paper we prove the Hopf-Rinow theorem for CAT(0) spaces and show that the ideal boundaries of complete CAT(0) manifolds of dimension 2 or 3 with some additional conditions are homeomorphic to the circle or 2-sphere by the characterization of the local shadows around the branch points.

  • Catchment Hydrologic Cycle Assess Tool (CAT) is a model for hydrologic cycle assessment based on physical parameters. In this study, CAT was applied for short-term runoff simulation and connected with model-independent parameter estimation (PEST) for auto-calibrating parameters. The model performance was compared with HEC-HMS, which is widely used for short-term runoff simulation. The study area is the Pangyo Watershed ($22.9km^2$), which includes the Unjung-Cheon and Geumto-Cheon tributaries of the Tan-Cheon stream. Simulation periods were selected from six rainfall events of a two-year period (2006-2007). For the runoff simulation, CAT was applied using three types of infiltration methods (excess rainfall, Green and Ampt and Horton). Sensitivity analysis was carried out to select the parameters and then CAT was optimized using PEST. The model performance of HEC-HMS and CAT-PEST for the rainfall events were within an acceptable limit with Nash Sutcliffe efficiencies (NSE) of 0.63-0.91 and 0.42-0.93, respectively. The simulation results of HEC-HMS have high accuracy in the case of rainfall events that have a sensitive relationship between initial soil moisture conditions and runoff characteristics. The results of CAT-PEST indicated the possibility of reflecting a real runoff system using various physical parameters.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the uses of complementary and alternative therapies(CAT), pain, and quality of life(QOL) in patients with chronic back pain. Method: A descriptive survey was conducted using convenient sample. One hundred sixty two patients with chronic back pain participated in this study. Types and satisfaction of CAT, pattern of back pain, and QOL were investigated. Result: 83.3% of all participants reported in the use of CAT. The most common types of CAT used were acupuncture and half-bath. Yoga were the most high satisfaction among the types. The mean score of back pain was 4.12, QOL was 3.10, that was mostly low score. There was no significant difference back pain and QOL between CAT user and nonuser. Correlation with satisfaction of CAT according the most using types were a negative correlation with back pain and a positive correlation with QOL. Conclusion: These result indicate that the mostly patients with back pain feels the satisfaction of CAT use. It is important that provide the obvious information about CAT which can be helpful to patient.

  • In order to gain insight into the mechanism of the regulation of cytochrome P450IAl by arylhydrocarbon, the 5'-flanking region of a trout CYP450IAl 5'flanking DNA was cloned into pCAT-basic vector and it was transfected into Hepa-1 cells. 3MC treatment to hepa Ⅰ cells transfected with fish CYP450IAl-CAT construct results in mRNA increased by 2.81 fold when it was compared with that of control This increase of mRNA was decreased by concomitantly treated flavonoids such as morin. The levels of CAT mRNA that was treated with morin was 29.2-58.0% of 3MC stimulated CAT mRNA. Further investigation to find out if there are DRE, XRE or negative regulatory cis element in CYP450IA1 gene was undertaken. Results of the deletion study of 5'flanking DNA of trout P450IA indicate the existance of the negative(-1600 ~ -1300). CAT mRNA was about two-fold higher in deleted trout CYP450IAl-CAT construct transfected cells compared to the wi Id type trout CYP450IAl-CAT construct transfected cells. And The stimulatory effect of 3MC was no longer observed in col Is containing deleted CAT construct. [Supported by grants from the Korean Ministry of Education]
