VCRs 원격제어기의 인지적 특성 및 설계 (The User's Cognitive Characteristics and Design of VCRs Remote Controller)

  • Nowadays, VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) has various functions, but users use to fail operating these function because of the complexity of operation. The process of operating VCR contains user's cognitive characteristics. It is necessary for designing it that we must identify a user's mental process in the behind of operational behaviors. This effort, as well as considering physical dimensions and layout, can make VCR easy to use. In this research, VCR remote controller are analyzed by the cognitive method and experiments. Three types of VCR remote controllers, cognitive VCR models and two non-cognitive(typical) VCR models, are adopted as experimental objects to test the validation of the suggested user's cognitive mode of VCR. As results, when VCR was operated by the cognitive prototype of remote controller, task completion time was reduced to 80.5%, and the number of errors was reduced to 96.8%.

디지털 VCR 헤드 드럼의 밸런싱 연구 (Balancing of Digital VCR Head Drum)

  • Dynamic stability in rotation of the head drum of digital VCR is very important due to the nature of high rotation speed and small angular inertia. Therefore special considerations on reducing the unbalance and assuring the stability are required the design and manufacturing process. In this paper, newly developed digital head drum is introduced. And advanced methods in analyzing and reducing the unbalance is suggested. LDV(Laser Doppler Vibrometer) was used as a measurement system verifying our modeling and new method for balancing. Experiments show that the theoretical data estimated by modeling of shaft bending caused by unbalance mass and the measured data are almost identical. The deflection was reduced to 30% by applying the suggested balancing method.

Samsung's $4^{th}$ Generation TFT- LCD Production Line Concept

  • With the explosive growth of Note-PC and Desktop monitor market, TFT LCD market confronted a entire supply shortage during 1999. Forecasting a more booming stage for the next several years, many TFT-LCD panel manufacturers continue to expand the capacity of their existing plants and also make an additional investment in building new plants. The new investment is concentrated on the $4^{th}$ generation TFT LCD line in order to improve investment efficiency. The set up of the Samsung's Gen 3.5 line progressed with satisfactorily performance using $600{\times}720mm$ glass size. We have continuously reviewed several issues regarding the glass size for our next Gen. 4 line, which leads to adopt $730{\times}920mm$. Due to the continuous enlargement of a substrate size and following difficulty in transferring cassettes, the next line is expected to be the last line that employs "cassette transfer". The layout of the next line will shift from conventional "concentration-type" to "separation-type" configuration for the purpose of reducing transfer distance as well as transfer time. The details will be discussed in this paper.

  • 현대의 디지털통신기기나, 오디오/비디오 전자기기엔 항상 비바이나리 에러정정복부호기가 사용되는데 그중 필수적으로 사용되는 Reed-Solomon 복부호화기기의 설계에 대해 기술했다. 2,3 symbol RS 복호기설계법을 설명 후, 새로운 RS 부호화기의 설계법을 제시한다. 각각의 복부호화기기의 동작여부를 예를들어 test해보고 잘 동작함을 확인했다.

  • Staphyloccus aureus is one of the most important pathogens in clinical settings. It is also one of the leading causes of nosocomial infections and the dissemination of multiple drug-resistant strains, mainly methicillin resistant Staphyloccus aureus, and the recent emergence of a vancomycin resistant MRSA is the concern to hospital worldwide. MRSA strains have acquired multiple resistance to a wide range of antibiotics, including aminoglycosides and macrolides. $\beta$-Lactam resistance of methicillin-resistnat Staphyococcus aureus is determined by the function of penicillin binding protein 2'(PBP2') encoded by the methicillin resistance gene mec A. MRSA strains carry methicillin resistance gene mecA, encoded by a mobile genetic element designated staphylococoal cassette chromosome mec(SCCmec). MRSA clones are defined by the type of SCCmec element and the genotype of the methicilline-susceptible Staphyococcus aureus chromosome in which the SCCmec element is integrated.

결정 궤환 재귀 신경망을 이용한 비선형 채널의 등화 (Nonlinear channel equalization using a decision feedback recurrent neural network)

  • In this paper, a decision feedback recurrent neural equalization (DFRNE) scheme is proposed for adaptive equalization problems. The proposed equalizer models a nonlinear infinite impulse response (IIR) filter. The modified Real-Time recurrent Learning Algorithm (RTRL) is used to train the DFRNE. The DFRNE is applied to both linear channels with only intersymbol interference and nonlinear channels for digital video cassette recording (DVCR) system. And the performance of the DFRNE is compared to those of the conventional equalizaion schemes, such as a linear equalizer, a decision feedback equalizer, and neural equalizers based on multi-layer perceptron (MLP), in view of both bit error rate performance and mean squared error (MSE) convergence. It is shown that the DFRNE with a reasonable size not only gives improvement of compensating for the channel introduced distortions, but also makes the MSE converge fast and stable.

  • This paper presents an experimental study and numerical thermal deformation analysis in the home appliance, Video Cassette Recorder. Analyzing the change axial force of a set screw according to the change of temperature in the drum assembly, we can determine the initial torque in tightening set screw. The torque will have the preload boss not be separated from the bearing. Also we conduct the fundamental experiment to constitute a boundary condition of the numerical analysis. With the result of this study, we can change the material of preload boss, copper, for aluminum.

  • 항공기나 발전용 가스터빈(gas turbine) 및 대용량 압축기(compressor) 등과 같이 흡입공기의 유량이 매우 클 경우, 유입되는 공기 내부에 함유된 입자상 오염물질은 터빈의 기계적 성능에 큰 장애를 일으킬 수 있다(Klink and Schroth, 1996, Schroth, 1993). 이러한 입자상 오염물질을 효과적으로 제어하기 위해서는 처리기체의 유입구 부분에 대형 공기 정화용 여과시스템이 요구되며, 일반적으로 카트리지형 에어 필터(cartridge air filter)나 포켓형(pocket), 카세트형(cassette) 에어 필터가 적용 현장의 조건에 따라 사용된다.   • Using a methylotrophic yeast Hansenula polymorpha, a heterologous gene expression and secretion system was developed for the production of hEGF(human Epidermal Growth Factor) which has been shown to promote epithelial cell proliferation and to inhibit gastric acid secretion. The hEGF gene was chemically synthesized according to the preferred codon usage in H. polymor- pha and expressed under the control of the strong and inducible methanol oxidase(MOX) promoter. The mating factor $\alpha$ pre-pro leader sequence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was employed for hEGF to be secreted into the extracellular medium. This expression cassette was stably integrated into the host chromosomal DNA. Mature hEGF was efficiently expressed and secreted into the extracel- lular medium. About 24 mg/l of hEGF was detected in the cuture supernatant of a transformant with pA-EGF3 under the suboptimal culture conditions.
