The pt, a 49 year-old female, has been suffering from difficulties of mastication with disfiguration of face due to deviation of mandible to the right side for 20 years. 2. Histopathologic findings showed the figure of multilocular bony cysts contained with fibrous tissue, osteoid tissue and many hematopoietic cells 3. Roentgenographic features showed well circumscribed radiolucent lesion with some radiopaque area. 4. After clinical evaluation, condylectomy was done to remove the lesion. 5. • This case report was conducted to introduce the use of miniscalpel-acupuncture for the treatment of hand osteoarthritis. A-76-year old female patient who had pain on both hands due to osteoarthritis was treated with miniscalpel-acupuncture for 7 weeks. The main outcome were the Numeral Rating Scale (NRS) and the grip strength by dynamometer. After miniscalpel-acupuncture treatment, NRS was decreased and the strength of grasp was increased. The result of this study suggests that the treatment of miniscalpel-acupuncture may be effectively used to decrease pain and increase grip strength of patients who suffer from hand osteoarthritis. Further research is necessary by the reason of the limited sample size of this study.

  • Lymphangiohemangiomas of the mediastinum are exceedingly rare and few cases have been published in the English literature. This report may be the only reported case in which lymphangiohemangiomas were found bilaterally. We report a case of a 7-year-old boy with an incidental finding of an abnormal mediastinal shadow on a chest X-ray. The chest CT showed a large mass in the left superior mediastinum and another in the right posterior mediastinum. The left mass had anomalous venous channels connected to the left innominate vein, and the right mass to the left atrium. We performed an excision of the mass in the left side first and then the right side one month later. Anomalous venous channels were dissected carefully and ligated. There were no complications and no signs of recurrence 30 months after the operation.

  • Hydatid cysts commonly affect the liver and the lung. However, they rarely involve bones with vertebral column. We hereby report a case of a female patient with cystic echinococcosis of the hip bone and ilium. She presented with a long history of frequent recurrences highlighting the dismal prognosis at this rare site. Resection of the hydatid cyst from the sacroiliac region was done with allograft and autograft (rib graft) with lumbosacroiliac fixation. Follow-up of the patient at 6 months showed no detectable abnormality on radiology and the patient was doing well.

  • Sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma (SNUC) is an extremely rare, highly aggressive malignancy of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Patients with SNUC usually being asymptomatic until the tumor has extensively progressed therefore frequently present with invasion of the orbit or cranial vault. Most case series of SNUC report very poor prognosis despite aggressive multimodality therapy. We recently experienced a 78-year-old male patient diagnosed as SNUC occurred from the left sphenoid sinus with invasion to the cavernous sinus and orbital content, which was treated intranasal endoscopic debulking surgery combined with curative radiation therapy successfully, and report this case with a review of literature.

  • The authors report a case of cholesterol granuloma in the sphoid sinus in 54-year old woman, which is probably the first report of cholesterol granuloma arising primarily in the sphenoid sinus apart from the petrous bone. The initial clinical presentations were unilateral decreased visual acuity and facial sensory change. The mass was removed totally via transsphenoidal route and the pathological examination revealed cholesterol clefts and chronic granulomatous changes. The differences between the present case and the previous reports are discussed.
