  • This study is to investigate archival use behavior of history teachers in high schools. The study conducted 3 times interviews with high school history teachers and carried out a survey on recognition of archives, archival use, archival seeking behavior, and harrier factors for archival use to 30 teachers from the 2 local communities of history teachers. According to the survey, history teachers have used archives for raising the historical understanding by students in their classes. But the tight curriculums of history and the lack of time to search archives were barrier factors for teachers to use archives in their classes. The teachers who participated in this survey suggested that integrated DBs of archives in Korea and source books with commentaries need to promote use of archives in history classes.

  • Pavilions, follies, and installations provide a place with a new experience beyond that of simple garden architecture. From this point of view, this study tried to analyze the constructs in the Glass House site, which Philip Johnson has built for 50 years. After Chapter 1 Introduction, which summarized the background of the study, Chapter 2 investigated the design background of the landscape and the types of the constructs there. It also, studying literature on pavilions, follies, and installations, defined the basic meanings of them. Chapter 3 identified the features of each construct through the case studies of it, analyzing Johnson's intentions on it. These features are such as the applications of classical follies, the quotations of architectural history, fusion with art, architectural experiments, and the monuments of personal history. In conclusion, this study, finding the site specificity as a common feature of pavilions, follies, and installations, referred to two aspects of this, which are not only physical placeness but also cultural media.

  • Arrivals of Hilbert and Minkowski at $G\ddot{o}ttingen$ put mathematical science there in full flourish. They further extended its strong mathematical tradition of Gauss and Riemann. Though Riemann envisioned Finsler metric and gave an example of it in his inaugural lecture of 1854, Finsler geometry was officially named after Minkowski's academic grandson Finsler. His tool to generalize Riemannian geometry was the calculus of variations of which his advisor $Carath\acute{e}odory$ was a master. Another $G\ddot{o}ttingen$ graduate Busemann regraded Finsler geometry as a special case of geometry of metric spaces. He was a student of Courant who was a student of Hilbert. These figures all at $G\ddot{o}ttingen$ created and developed Finsler geometry in its early stages. In this paper, we investigate history of works on Finsler geometry contributed by these frontiers.

  • In this study, the deformation, stress, vibration, fatigue life and the probability of damage are analyzed at the pedal applied by the force of 300N. The maximum stress at the lower of pedal is shown as 20.801MPa. And the maximum displacement is 0.85mm at the maximum response frequency as 3800Hz. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-10^{5}MPa$ and the amplitude stress of 0 to $10^{5}MPa$, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 0.6%. This stress state can be shown with 5 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively improved with the design of pedal by investigating durability against its damage.

  • This study analyzes about automotive engine tension bearing through the structural analyses of fatigue and vibration. Maximum equivalent stress is shown at the lower of tensioner. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-10^{6}MPa$, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3%. This stress state can be shown with 6 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE Bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design of tension bearing by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

  • On this condition of steel bridge member having a crack, occasionaly it is improssible to measure of stress history and to extract test specimen. Under this situation, tried to estimate remaining service life from statistical data on traffic and existing results of fatigue test without measuring of stress history and fatigue test. The main results are as following (1) Stress history of simple beam estimated from Montecallo simulation method with probabilistic model of traffic can be use to estimate remaining fatigue life instead of measuring of stress history. (2) In such a case measuring of remaining fatigue life at bridge member haying a crack, influences of RMS model and RMC model on fatigue crack growth rate are not differ without difference of applied stress range. (3) Application of cut off method may be overestimate remaining fatigue life.

  • In this study, we evaluated the chemical and physical properties of structural steel, which is the most basic material for steel structures and reinforcement concrete structures in modern period. We theorized the technical data for the research of technical history of modern heritage structures by analyzing the product system and its quality control of structural steel used in modern historical heritages. The results of this study are as follow; first, the rounded bars were used in most of modern heritage structures. But in the case of Waegwan railroad bridge, the deformed bars were used in spit of not using in Japan after the great earthquake of Kantou. Second, the structural steel was good in terms of quality control, but It has brittle properties because it was not manufactured by heat treatment process.

  • At its simplest, this essay provides a narrative of migration in Asia since the arrival of Homo sapiens some 70,000 years ago. More fully, it presents the case for conducting long-term, world-historical interpretation for Asia with attention to multiple perspectives, which has become increasingly central to global historical analysis. Following an introductory articulation of the benefits of long-term interpretation, the second section presents a balance of three perspectives-empire, exchange, and migration-as frameworks for interpreting the Asian past. The third section presents further detail on migration in long-term Asian history. The concluding section identifies four changes in patterns of migration during the past two centuries and emphasizes the underlying importance of cross-community migration in long-term human biological and social evolution.

  • Far from being a recent world, the concept of "a [one] world" did slowly emerged in a post-prehistoric Antiquity. The actual knowledge of the world increased through millennia leaving aside large continents (Americas, part of Africa, Australia, etc.-most areas without written history), and writing history in Antiquity cannot be a synchronal presentation of the most ancient times of these areas. Through a few case studies dealing with texts, archaeology and history itself mostly in BCE times, the paper will try to perceive the slow building-up of a physical awareness and 'moral' consciousness of the known world by people of the Middle East (e.g. the Bible, Gilgamesh) and the Mediterranean (mainly Greeks).

  • This study analyzes flywheel through the analyses of stress, fatigue and vibration. Maximum equivalent stress is 15.271MPa at the mid round shape and maximum deformation is 0.02264mm at the outer teeth. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of -$10^4$MPa and the amplitude stress of 1000 to 2900MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 30%. This stress state can be 20 times greater than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The range of natural frequencies becomes 200 to 820Hz and the values of these deformations are not more than 10mm. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design of flywheel by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.
