A Study on Functions and Productivity of CASE Tool (CASE Tool 의 기능과 생산성에 관한 실증적 연구 - 우리나라 시스템전문가들의 인식을 중심으로 -)

  • Computer-Aided Software Engineering or CASE is the technology for automating the software development and maintenance process. Many firms are turning to CASE in hopes of realizing improvement in productivity and system quality. Although expenditures on CASE were reported to be rapidly rising, the performance gains have been very difficult to measure. The empirical results in this article are intended to provide some evidence about (1) the major objective of using CASE, (2) the gains from CASE, (3) the difference in productivity among CASE tools. They are based on an analysis of data collected from 61 software engineers from five corporations who have the experience of using CASE.

An Analysis of the Women's Status Shown in the Family Pedigrees Recently Published (최근 족보에 나타난 여성지위의 분석적 연구)

  • This study has the purpose to aid that there will be a desirable household and social life analyzing the content in examples of the distinction between the sexes based on the family pedigrees published since 1980 year in Korea. 142 family pedigrees in Suncheon National University Library, National Central Library in Seoul and Cheon II Library in Kwangju as study data were used. Characters of the analyzing subject were born since 1940 year, who are still in existence possibly. The results of this study are as followings; 1) In the records of man and wife (1) The case which man's name was registered in detail and wife's name was not registered is 62.0% and more than a half. (2) The case which wife's schooling, career and occupation were not registered is 97.9%. 2) In the records of the relation between parents and children. (1) The case which only parents were registered in the ancestors of maternal line is 76.7%. (2) The case which foster sons were registered although the e were daughters is 15.5%, which is remarkable portions. 3) In the records of the relation of children (1) The case which the register orders were sons first and daughter later, not birth order is almost all 97.2% and the case which daughters were not registered is 2.1%. (2) The case which the married daughters names with sons-in-law were registered is 40.2%, whereas the case which only the names of sons-in-law were registered without daughters names is 56.3% and more than a half. (3) The case which grandsons in the daughter's line were registered only one case. In the above analysis results of Korean family pedigrees, the distinction ciousness to the wife and daughters as female among family members has been deeply conventionalized institutionally or conceptually.

Flexural and axial vibration analysis of beams with different support conditions using artificial neural networks

  • An artificial neural network (ANN) application is presented for flexural and axial vibration analysis of elastic beams with various support conditions. The first three natural frequencies of beams are obtained using multi layer neural network based back-propagation error learning algorithm. The natural frequencies of beams are calculated for six different boundary conditions via direct solution of governing differential equations of beams and Rayleigh's approximate method. The training of the network has been made using these data only flexural vibration case. The trained neural network, however, had been tested for cantilever beam (C-F), and both end free (F-F) in case the axial vibration, and clamped-clamped (C-C), and Guided-Pinned (G-P) support condition in case the flexural vibrations which were not included in the training set. The results found by using artificial neural network are sufficiently close to the theoretical results. It has been demonstrated that the artificial neural network approach applied in this study is highly successful for the purposes of free vibration analysis of elastic beams.

THERMAL ANALYSIS OF SURFACE HEAT PIPE INSTALLED PANEL OF GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITE (외장형 HEAT PIPE 가 장착된 정지궤도 위성 패널의 열해석)

  • The north panel of a geostationary satellite is used as one of the main radiators, on which communication equipment or bus equipment are installed. The thermal control of panel is designed by using embedded heat pipes and surface heat pipes (or external heat pipes) to spread out heat dissipated from equipment all over the radiator evenly and finally to reject the heat to the space through the radiator efficiently. This panel is also divided by several areas based on the operating temperature and dissipation of equipment in order to increase heat rejection capability of radiator. The thermal analysis is carried out for the hot case, Winter Solsitce EOL (End Of Life), in order to validate thermal design of the panel utilized 6 surface heat pipes and 8 embedded heat pipes. The sensitivity studies for the heat pipe failure case and no heat pipe case are performed and compared to its normal state. The heat transport capability of heat pipe is also obtained from these calculations.

  • A case study deals with Squeezing behavior under tunneling. Squeezing stands for large time-dependent convergence during tunnel excavation. Squeezing can occur in both rock and soil as long as the particular combination of induced stresses and material properties pushes some zone around the tunnel beyond the limiting shear stress at which creep starts. Under squeezing rock conditions, If the support installation is delayed the rock mass moves into the tunnel and a stress redistribution takes place around it. On the contrary, if deformation is restrained, squeezing will lead to long-term load build-up of rock support. This paper shows analysis case mutually with monitoring and numerical analysis result of squeezing behavior of Pinglin tunnel in Taiwan.

  • This paper reviews cases of leadership training program of United States of America University. Also it proposes guideline of coaching program for domestic Christian students. In according to the needs of industry, it enforces a various case analysis in center of purpose and contents of leadership training and propose coaching program case in the Korean 'B'University(IT major). This paper analysis the detailed elements, which is not reflected in Korean leadership training. The proposed paper has a view in an index of main application for elements analysis of leadership training in industry and Korean university.

  • This paper presents a way to maximize transmission efficiency and reception ability through transmission diversity technology, which can be adapted to wireless multimedia OFDM system. The presented method is a comparative analysis between a case where parameter $\alpha$for time average is 0.3, 1 with consideration of channel presumption with two types of rms delayed proliferation, which is 50nsec, 150nsec, for the performance analysis of STTC(Space-Time Trellis Code) using time-space ciphering method appropriate for MIMO channel, and performance in the case where presumed channel value from long training column section is applied to according frame in a single frame. The result showed that BER brought SNR improvement of 1.0dB in 10-3 when $\alpha$ was 0.3 than using only the long training column, and showed increase of general performance improvement for the sake of time average rather than the case without.

Analysis of Connecting Rod Bearings Using Mass-Conserving Boundary Condition (유량 보존 경계 조건을 적용한 커넥팅 로드 베어링의 성능 해석)

  • Reynolds equation, which describes behavior of fluid film in journal bearings, basically satisfies mass conservation. But, boundary conditions usually used with this equation, e.g. half Sommerfeld or Reynolds boundary conditions, cannot fulfill this natural law of conservation. In the case of connecting rod bearing, where applied load is dynamic and its magnitude is relatively large, such unrealistic boundary conditions have serious influence on calculation results, especially on lubricant flow rate or power disspation which are important parameters in thermal analysis. In this paper, mass-conserving boundary condition was applied in the finite element analysis of connecting rod bearings. Lubricant flow rate and power dissipation rate were calculated together with journal center locus, minimum film thickness and maxmium film pressure. These computation results were compared with those of the case of Reynolds boundary condition. Balance between inlet and outlet flow rate was well achieved in the case of mass-conserving boundary condition.

  • This is concerned with the structural reliability analysis(RA) considering uncertainties in material properties. This method is performed by the stochastic process using Kriging with calculating the distribution of probability and equation of limit state for saving calculated and analyzed time. The proposed methodology is applied to the rocket motor case and compared with monte-calro simulation in efficiency and accuracy of this process.

Full mouth prosthetic rehabilitation base on making plan: a case report (체계적 계획을 통한 전악고정성 보철물 제작 증례)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluated the process of model analysis, design, and production for a full mouth prosthetic rehabilitation of function, esthetics, and pronunciation. Methods: This is a case report of class III malocclusion with a severe anterior incisor occlusion and a prosthetic treatment of patient with poor occlusion of posterior teeth. A provisional restoration based on the diagnostic wax-up was applied to the patient. And then functions, esthetics, and occlusal stability were observed during 4 week tracking period. Final restorations were delivered and evaluated based on a systematic analysis, diagnosis and treatment plan. Results: We confirms that this case study obtained the satisfactory results in terms of functions and esthetics. Conclusion : If we can give the patient the continuous evaluation and progress monitoring, we expect the dentist and the dental technician to design the prosthesis successfully.
