Objectives : In traditional Korean medicine literature, Succium(琥珀) is known to be effective in eliminating edema. However, pumpkins are misused in folk remedies to manage edema, because succium and pumpkin is homophony to 'Hobak' in Korean. The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Succium decoction on two patients with edema after plastic surgery. Methods : We treated two patients with edema after plastic surgery using Succium decoction. Numeric rating scale (NRS) of edema, photograph of changes in edema before and after treatment were analyzed to evaluate the effects of treatment. Results : After 2 weeks of administration, NRS for facial edema decreased from 5 to 3 and 2 to 1, respectively. Photograph of edema decreased after treatment, and there were no adverse events. Conclusions : This case report suggests that Succium decoction can be effective in treating edema after plastic surgery.

Fractures and fracture-dislocations of the ankle are caused by a variety of mechanisms. In addition to fractures, injuries of soft tissue, such as ligaments, tendons, nerves, and muscles may also occur. Among these, a tibialis posterior tendon injury is difficult to be identified due to swelling and pain at the fracture site. It is difficult to observe tibialis posterior tendon injury on a simple radiograph; it is usually found during surgery by accident. There are some studies regarding irreducible ankle fracture-dislocations due to interposition of the tibialis posterior tendon; however, to the best of our knowledge, there has not been any report about interposition of injured tibialis posterior tendon. Herein, we report a case of an irreducible fracture-dislocation of the ankle due to injured tibialis posterior tendon interposition that was observed intraoperatively, interrupting the reduction of ankle fracture-dislocation. We obtained satisfactory clinical result after reduction of the trapped tendon, fracture reduction, and internal fixation; therefore, we are willing to report this case with the consent of the patient. This study was conducted with an approval from the local Institutional Ethics Review Board.

It was on the rise importantly to provide the efficient management process of the organization for dealing with the change about information and business management quickly and consistently. It was suggested with the architectural model on information technology to provide it in theoretically. The Federal Government and budget organization of the USA used it on actual business and the terms of EA (Enterprise Architecture) and are raising the efficiency of management. NCA (National Computerization Agency) of Korea published the book - "The Research about establishing ITA (Information Technology Architecture) and appling the standards". After being applied the model on MOGAHA (Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs) and MIC(Minisstry of Information and Communication), the concrete case was made. MOMAF (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) drove the leading model. The report ascertained the basic contents of ITA and researched the case of USA, MOGAHA, MIC, and tried to analyze the contents of appling maritime and fisheries area. The report contained the definition of purpose through analyzing environment and establishing the vision and the principles based on them. The report also contained the contents of architecture based on the standard of NCA - "The Government Standard Meta Model version 2.0" - and researched the MOMAF's Reference model using Government Reference model. The report established the investment architecture and the process of information technology asset management. It ascertained the characteristic of maritime & fisheries area and the subject of developing the MOMAF's ITA sustainably.

Objectives To report an improved case with Taeeumin Mahwangjeongcheon-tang on the patient with chronic bronchitis caused by an inhalation injury. Methods The patient had been suffered from cough, sputum, dyspnea, and chest discomfort for 15 years. He was diagnosed as Taeeumin Esophageal Cold Pattern and was given Mahwangjeongcheon-tang according to Sasang constitutional medical theory. The clinical asthma measurement scale in oriental medicine(CAMSOM-V), quality of life questionnaire for adult Korean asthmatics(QLQAKA), and Spirometry were performed to evaluate the improvement of his symptoms. Results The clinical asthma measurement scale in oriental medicine(CAMSOM-V) improved from 16 to 14 points and the quality of life questionnaire for adult Korean asthmatics(QLQAKA) improved from 55 to 67 points. In spirometry, forced vital capacity improved from 3.07 to 3.59, and forced expiratory volume in 1sec improved from 2.59 to 2.84 after 4 weeks. Conclusion This report suggests that Mahwangjeongcheon-tang is effective for chronic bronchitis.

Objectives This case report is about a Taeyangin patient with Acute Motor Axonal Neuropathy identified as Hae-Yeok pattern using Ogapijangchuk-tang. In this study, we report the significant improvement of lower extremity weakness and pain of this patient after Sasang Constitutional medicine treatment. Methods The patient was identified as Taeyangin Hae-Yeok pattern and treated with Ogapijangchuk-tang. Guillain-Barre Syndrome disability scale was used to assess the overall function of the patient. The Numeral Rating Scale was used to assess the change of lower extremity pain. Also the change of lower extremity weakness was measured by patient's expression and graded by Manual Muscle Test. Result and Conclusion After treatment with Ogapijangchuk-tang, patient's symptoms were improved. And there was not any side effect. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang Constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Taeyangin patient with Acute Motor Axonal Neuropathy.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment on ruptured ovarian cyst. Methods: The patient diagnosed with ruptured ovarian cyst was treated with Korean medicine treatment during 10 days of hospitalization. The patient received Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion. The effect of treatment on ruptured ovarian cyst was evaluated through the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and Ultrasound. Result: After the treatment, the clinical symptoms of abdominal pain and fatigue were improved. Also, on transvaginal ultrasound, bleeding was almost absorbed. Conclusions: This case report proved that the Korean medicine treatment may be effective for improving clinical symptoms after ovarian cyst ruptured. However, further clinical study is needed in the furture to prove the effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment for ruptured ovarian cyst.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment on interstitial cystitis. Methods: The patient diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis/Bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) was treated with Korean medicine treatment during 22 days of hospitalization. The patient received Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion, cupping and extracorporeal magnetic stimulation therapy. The effect of treatment on IC/BPS was evaluated through the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), voiding diary, and Interstitial Cystitis Symptom Index/Problem Index (ICSI/ICPI). Results: After the treatment, the clinical symptoms of IC/BPS such as pelvic pain, pelvic pressure, frequent urination and urinary urgency were improved. Also, the patient had better scores in ICSI/ICPI. Conclusions: This case report proved that the Korean medicine treatment may be effective for improving clinical symptoms of IC/BPS. However, a large-scale clinical study is needed in the future to prove the effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment for IC/BPS.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for patient with oculomotor nerve palsy. Methods : We treated a patient who had suffered from right. ptosis, diplopia, ophthalmoplegia and diagnosed with oculomotor nerve palsy with acupuncture(including pharmacopuncture, electroacupuncture), moxibustion, cupping therapy. Photographs of eye movement were used to evaluate the changes in limitation of eye movement. We also evaluated symptoms such as diploma, ptosis. Results : After treatment, patient's symptoms such as limitation of eye movement, diplopia, ptosis were improved. There are no adverse effects and no relapse after treatments. Conclusions : This case report suggests that acupuncture and moxibustion treatment can be effective for patient with limitation of eye movement, diplopia, ptosis in oculomotor nerve palsy.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment on postmenopausal syndrome. Methods: The patient with postmenopausal syndrome with palpitation was treated with Korean medicine treatment during 14 days of hospitalization. The patient received Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion. The effect of treatment on postmenopausal syndrome was evaluated through the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and questionnaire. Palpitation and arrhythmia was evaluated by Electrocardiogram (ECG) and manual pulse diagnosis three times a day. Result: After the treatment, the clinical postmenopausal symptoms of palpitation and hot flush were improved. Also, ECG's result was improved ventricular premature contraction to normal ECG. Conclusions: This case report proved that the Korean medicine treatment may be effective for improving postmenopausal syndrome with palpitation and hot flush. However, further clinical study is needed in the future to prove the effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment for postmenopausal syndrome with palpitation and hot flush.

Objectives: The purpose of this case study is to report clinical effectiveness of the Boheo-tang-gagambang with acupuncture, moxa and physiotherapy treatments on the after-effects of myomectomy or hysterectomy. Methods: The subjects of this study were five women who were diagnosed with uterine myoma and underwent myomectomy or hysterectomy. They mainly complained of lower abdominal pain, back pain, and pelvic pain. They received combination treatment of Korean medicine and physiotherapy. The Korean medicine included Boheo-tang-gagambang, acupuncture and moxa. The effects were evaluated through Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Results: In this study, patient's clinical symptoms, including lower abdominal pain, low back pain, and pelvic pain, improved after hospitalization treatment. Conclusions: This case report shows that the combination treatment of Korean medicine with Boheo-tang-gagambang, acupuncture and moxa may be effective for treating after-effects of myomectomy or hysterectomy.
