  • Rail Route Alignment in hilly terrain is a difficult task to implement as several natural constraints poses threat to the safety and stability of the alignment. The conventional methods followed to find out the final location survey or the feasibility analysis for alignment is time taking consuming. Some times, due to inaccessibility of the terrain it becomes impossible to carry out such works. The construction works in hilly terrain, which are associated with the proposed alignment, are not same as carried out in plane areas due to a vast contrast between the two areas. Different geological structures such as faults, thrusts, synclines and anticlines are a big problem to carry out normal construction practices. Thus for a safe and stable railway route in the unstable hilly areas, it is required to carry out the feasibility analysis of the proposed alignment to assist the policy makers for a successful implementation of the alignment. In the present work Remote Sensing and GIS has been successfully used to carry out geological feasibility and slope stability analysis for rail route alignment work.

Characteristic Analysis of Condensate Carry-Over According to the Surface Tensions in the Wet and the Dry Conditions on the Fin Surfaces of Heat Exchangers

  • Typically, condensate forms as droplets on the fin surfaces and may bridge the space between the fin surfaces. This is due to the dry characteristics inherent to the fin surface. The droplets increase the air-side pressure drop. In the case of high air velocities, these droplets may be blown off the fins and entrained in the air stream. To minimize the formation of condensate droplet, the wet ability of the fins must be improved. The carry-over velocity is affected by fin surface characteristics. To avoid carry-over in the air conditioner having the highest air velocity of 1.5 m/sec, the dynamic contact angle (DCA) should be at least lowly under $60^{\circ}$.

  • 마이크로 프로세서와 DSP(Digital Signal Process)의 성능에 매우 중요한 역할을 하는 가산기는 어떠한 캐리 생성 방식을 적용하느냐에 따라 그 성능이 크게 좌우된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 연산속도 면에서 우수한 캐리 륵어헤드 방식(Carry Look-ahead Algorithm)과 면적 면에서 우수한 캐리 선택 방식(Carry Select Algorithm)을 이용하였으며, 이 두 방식의 최적조합을 적용하여 고속 64비트 가산기를 설계하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 연산속도와 면적을 모두 개선한 최적의 CLSA(Carry Look-ahead Select Adder) 방식을 제안하였으며. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 설계된 회로의 우수성을 입증하였다.

Optical Look-ahead Carry Full-adder Using Dual-rail Coding

  • In this paper, a new optical parallel binary arithmetic processor (OPBAP) capable of computing arbitrary n-bit look-ahead carry full-addition is proposed and implemented. The conventional Boolean algebra is considered to implement OPBAP by using two schemes of optical logic processor. One is space-variant optical logic gate processor (SVOLGP), the other is shadow-casting optical logic array processor (SCOLAP). SVOLGP can process logical AND and OR operations different in space simultaneously by using free-space interconnection logic filters, while SCOLAP can perform any possible 16 Boolean logic function by using spatial instruction-control filter. A dual-rail encoding method is adopted because the complement of an input is needed in arithmetic process. Experiment on OPBAP for an 8-bit look-ahead carry full addition is performed. The experimental results have shown that the proposed OPBAP has a capability of optical look-ahead carry full-addition with high computing speed regardless of the data length.

이월오염에 대한 연구 (A Study of Carry Over Contamination in Chematology)

  • Carry over contamination has been reduced in some systems by flushing the internal and external surfaces of the sample probe with copious amount of diluent. It between specimens should be kept as small as possible. A built-in, continuous-flow wash reservoir, which allows the simultaneous washing of the interior and exterior of the syringe needles, addresses this issue. In addition, residual contamination can further be prevented through the use of efficient needle rinsing procedures. In discrete systems with disposable reaction vessels and measuring cuvets, any carry over is entirely caused by the pipetting system. In analyzers with reuseable cuvets or flow cells, carry over may arise at every point through which high samples pass sequentially. Therefore, disposable sample probe tips can eliminate both the contamination of one sample by another inside the probe and the carry over of in specimen into the specimen in the cup. The results of the applicative carry over experiment studied on 21 items for total protein (TP), albumin (ALB), total bilirubin (TB), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), aspratate aminotranferase (AST), alanine aminotranferase (ALT), gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT), creatinine kinase (CK), lactic dehydrogenase (LD), creatnine (CRE), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), uric acid (UA), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), glucose (GLU), amylase (AMY), calcium (CA), inorganic phosphorus (IP), sodium (Na), potassium (K), chloride (CL) tests in chematology were as follows. Evaluation of process performance less than 1% in all tests was very good, but a percentage of ALB, TP, TB, ALP, CRE, UA, TC, GLU, AMY, IP, K, Na, and CL was 0%, implying no carry over. Other tests were ALT(-0.08%), GGT(-0.09%), CK(0.08%), LD(0.06%), BUN(0.12%), TG (-0.06%), and CA(0.89%).

  • Global carry propagation이 없는 redundant signed number에 의한 CORDIC 회로를 제안하였다. 이 number format은 Booth recording과 유사한 새로운 receding scheme을 가지고 가감산에서 carry 전파의 문제를 효과적으로 해결하였다. 여기서는 상수 scale factor를 갖고 삼각함수 계산을 하는 pipeline구조를 채택하였다. 이 CORDIC 회로의 동작시간은 채택한 operand bit에 상관없이 일정하다.

  • The study aims to explore the rural extension specialist's role and capacity of knowledge management (KM) extension service in the knowledge based society. According to major findings through previous study and literature review, the followings were concluded. Rural extension educator's role and ability of knowledge management composed four processes by the stage of knowledge process: knowledge creation-knowledge storage-knowledge utilization-knowledge share. As a adoption of the knowledge management in rural extension service, at the knowledge creation the rural extension educator's role of KM are four roles which needed fourteen abilities to carry out them successfully. For at the knowledge storage the rural extension educator's role of KM are eight roles which needed eight abilities to carry out them successfully. For at the knowledge utilization the rural extension educator's role of KM are eight roles which needed ten abilities to carry out them successfully. Lastly for at the knowledge sharing the rural extension educator's role of KM are nine roles which needed 8 abilities to carry out them successfully.

Radix-$2^k$ 모듈라 곱셈 알고리즘 기반의 RSA 지수승 연산기 설계 (Implementation of RSA Exponentiator Based on Radix-$2^k$ Modular Multiplication Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 Radix-$2^k$ 모듈라 곱셈 알고리즘 기반의 고속 RSA 지수승 연산기의 구현 방법을 제시하고 검증하였다. Radix-$2^k$ 모듈라 곱셈 알고리즘을 구현하기 위해 Booth receding 연산 알고리즘을 사용하였으며 최대 radix-16 연산을 위해 2K-byte 메모리와 2개의 전가산기와 3개의 반가산기의 지연을 갖는 CSA(carry-save adder) 어레이를 사용하였다. CSA 어레이 출력인 캐리와 합을 고속으로 가산하기 위해 마지막 덧셈기로써 캐리 발생과 지연시간이 짧은 가상 캐리 예측 덧셈기(pseudo carry look-ahead adder)를 적용하였다. 또한, 주어진 공정에서 동작 주파수와 처리량의 관계를 통해 Radix-$2^k$에서 설계 가능한 radix 값을 제시하였다. Altera FPGA EP2K1500E를 사용하여 기능을 검증한 후 삼성 0.35$\mu\textrm{m}$ 공정을 사용하여 타이밍 시뮬레이션을 하였으며 radix-16 모듈라 곱셈 알고리즘을 사용할 경우 모듈라 곱셈에 (n+4+1)14 의 클럭을 사용하여 1,024-bit RSA를 처리하는데 50MHz에서 5.38ms의 연산 속도를 측정하였다.

  • 주요(主要) 채소용(菜蔬用) 제초제(除草劑)의 잔효기간(殘效期間)과 후작물(後作物)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)코자 월동작물(越冬作物) 5종(種)(가을배추, 무, 시금치, 양파, 마늘)을 포장(圃場)에 파종(播種)하고 각 작물(作物)에 적용(適用)이 가능시된 제초제(除草劑)를 약량별(藥量別)로 처리(處理)한후 생물검정(生物檢定)에 의하여 경시적으로 조사(調査)하였다. 1. 처리(處理)된 제초제(除草劑)의 잔효기간(殘效其間)과 후작물(後作物)에 대한 약해유무(藥害有無)(carry-over injury)는 공시토양(供試土壤)의 종류(種類)나 재배작물(栽培作物)의 종류(種類)간에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 그러나 제초제(除草劑)의 처리약량(處理藥量), 토양(土壤)의 채취심도(採取深度), 검정식물(檢定植物)의 종류(種類) 및 접종일자(接種日字)(경과일수(經過日數)) 등에 따라 차이가 뚜렷하였다. 그러나 잔효성제초제(殘效性除草劑)라도 후작물(後作物)의 종류(種類)(감수성작물(感受性作物) 피함), 약제처리후(藥劑處理後) 후작물(後作物)의 접종일자(接種日字) 연장, 경운심도(耕耘深度) 등의 조절로 후작물약해(後作物藥害)는 최소화 할 수 있었다. 2. 월동작물(越冬作物)에 처리된 제초제중(除草劑中) 그 작기(作期)가 종료시 (동작(冬作) 200-240일)까지 잔효(殘效)가 거의 남지 않아 후작물(後作物)에 안전(安全)한 제초제(除草劑)는 alachlor, trifluralin, prometry 등이었다. 3. Pendimethalin, metolachlor, linuron, methabenzthiazuron 등은 추천약량(推薦藥量)까지는 작기종료(作期終了)와 동시에 안전하나 배량처리(倍量處理)가 될때에는 그 약제(藥劑)에 감수성작물(感受性作物)의 생육(生育)에는 영향(影響)이 있었다. 4. Napropamide는 동작(冬作)에 처리(處理)시 150-300ga.i/10a 약량(藥量) 처리시(處理時)에는 작기 종료후(終了後)에도 후작물(後作物) 중 화본과(禾本科)인 IR, 직파벼, 보리등에는 영향(影響)이 있었으나 담수하(湛水下) 이앙(移秧)벼에 대한 영향(影響)은 없었고, 십자화과, 호로과, 가지과작물(作物) 등에도 영향(影響)이 없었다. 5. 대표적으로 잔효(殘效)가 긴 nitralin은 동작(冬作)에서는 275일후(日後)에도 화본과(禾本科)인 IR, 벼, 보리, 담수하(湛水下) 이앙(移秧)벼에는 75ga.i./10a약량(藥量)에서도 생육억제(生育抑制)가 있었고, 그이외 참깨, 들깨, 시금치 등의 생육(生育)에도 약간의 영향(影響)이 있었으나 십자화과, 호로과, 가지과 등에 대한 영향(影響)은 적었다.

Heuristics for Carrying-out of Export Containers in Container Terminal

  • Purpose: Re-handling is an important factor that reduces the productivity of container terminals. The purpose of this paper is to propose an algorithm to find the order of container movement in order to minimize the number of re-handling in the process of carrying-out. Research design, data and methodology: This paper proposes an algorithm to set the optimal carry-out order and conducted tests to evaluate the performance of the algorithm proposed in this paper. 1. tests comparing the performance of an algorithm proposed in an existing study with that proposed in this paper. 2. Performance tests for bays with complex structures. Results: Test 1 shows that the algorithm proposed in this paper performs better than the existing algorithm. Test 2 shows that the proposed algorithm can also be used in bays with considerably high complexity and that there is no major problem with using it in the field. Conclusion: While we can conclude that the proposed algorithm as a carry-out algorithm is more effective than conventional methods, research is needed on how to handle more complex bays more effectively. This is because the larger the bay, the more container combinations increase, making it difficult to find the best carry-out order.
