In this paper, we used the inter-bit noise detection method in order to reduce the effects of noise light in a visible light identification system that uses a visible LED as a carrier source. A visible light identification system consists of a reader and a transponder. When the enable signal from the reader is detected, the transponder encodes the response data in RZ(Return-to-Zero) bit stream and sends response signal by modulating a visible LED. The reader detects the response signal mixed with noise light, samples the noise voltage in each blank low time between data bits of the RZ signal, and recovers the original data by subtracting the sampled noise from the received signal. In experiments, we improved the signal-to-noise ratio by 20dB using the inter-bit noise detection method.
In this paper, we present an improved multicarrier direct sequence (DS) code division multiple access (CDMA) scheme by modifying the system originally proposed by Kondo and Milstein [13]. In this modified system, different spreading sequences multiplied by a data sequence modulate different carriers. This is to prevent the multiple access capability from reducing when the fading characteristics of different carrier frequencies are highly correlated. We have derived a formula which determines the mean values of the relative received signal strength in a single carrier DS CDMA rake system and in a multicarrier DS-CDMA system. We present results on the comparison of the bit error rate (BER) performance of the two systems including the effect of correlation between fading characteristics of different frequencies under various multipath fading conditions. The results indicate that with 50 users the modified multicarrier DS CDMA system can achieve an uncoded irreducible BER of $1.7{\times}10^{-3}$ with an average received signal-to-noise ratio per bit of 10dB, which is better that $3.0{\times}10^{-3}$ achieved by the single carrier DS CDMA rake system, and also show that if multicarrier CDMA system is used with respect to single carrier CDMA system, the SNR gain is up to 4.5 dB for the uncode BER of $10^{-3}$ being achieved.
Following the introduction of civilian navigation, the commercial Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers' market has been expanding in various fields such as autonomous driving and smart cities. With improved receiver performance and widespread use of GNSS, the configurations of base and rover receivers are becoming more complex. As a result, user must consider combinations of base stations with different qualities, costs, and performances. To address these issues, we conducted zero-baseline tests to analyze the double-differenced code-pseudorange noise of various receiver combinations, ranging from low- to high-cost. The results showed that the noise varied depending on the receiver combination. Notably, receivers from the same manufacturer exhibited similar noise and positioning errors despite significant price differences. We also found that the double-differenced noise of all receiver combinations was correlated with the Carrier-to-Noise Density Ratio (C/N0), the satellite elevation angle, and the Doppler shift, and it did not perfectly follow a normal distribution. Further analysis based on Modified Allan Deviation (MDEV) showed that different types of noise were observed for each receiver combination and the double-differenced noise and positioning errors have similar statistical characteristics. From this study, the importance of receiver combinations and their various characteristics can be better understood.

OFDM is very effective for the high speed communication system. However, OFDM has the problems of high PAPR and serious ICI, which is different from the single carrier system. Especially, ICI problem caused by phase noise, Doppler effect and frequency offset is main reason for poor performance since it breaks down the orthogonality between subcarriers in OFDM communication system. Therefore, WFMT modulation scheme is studied and the effect of the carrier frequency offset and phase noise is analyzed. WFMT modulation scheme is based on the wavelet theory and complex filter banks for synthesis and analysis of multichannel signal. WFHT modulation scheme keeps on the advantage of filter banks system and can be easily possible for the implementation of filter banks. In this paper, we compare ISI and ICI distortions of the WFMT and OFDM system due to the carrier frequency offset and phase noise. Also, we analyze the PAPR and BER performances in the HPA and ICI situation caused by the Doppler frequency shift and the frequency offset.
IEEE 802.11 WLAN uses CSMA/CA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance) method in MAC(Media Access Control) protocol, and through the carrier sense checks whether other users use the channel during the data transmission to avoid the data collision. Currently, IEEE 802.11 standard recommends the use of a fixed threshold which gives an impact on carrier sensing range. However, the existing scheme using the fixed threshold causes the operation of network to be inefficiency owing to the mobility in MANET(Mobile Ad hoc NETwork). In this paper, we found the better network throughput to be obtained by applying the proposed scheme, which chooses properly the carrier sensing threshold and transmission rate considering SINR(Signal to Interference-plus-Noise Ratio), to the MANET.

A quadrature pair of filter banks that are composed of a pair of cosine and sine modulated filter banks is applied to MC-CDMA data transmultiplexing in the view point of mitigating inter-channel interferences. Exploiting superior capabilities of wavelet properties in composing the filter banks the proposed scheme is capable of compromising inter-channel interference problems better than the conventional DFT-based MC-CDMA due to superior subchannelization effects. To verify the behavior of our proposed MC-CDMA system based on the quadrature filter banks the reverse-link bit error rates with respect to signal-to-noise ratio under Rayleigth fading and additive white Gaussian noise channel environments are computed. The results show an improved system performance over the conventional MC-CDMA in the view point of minimizing interference effects.

The channel capacities of various lading channels are calculated and compared with that of Gaussian noise channel to find out the decrements of channel capacity according to each fading environment. As a result, it is confirmed that the channel capacities in Rician and m-distribution fading channels approach to that of Gaussian noise channel as direct-to-indirect power ratio in Rician fading channel and fading index m in m-distribution fading channel increases respectively. And the difference between two channel capacities of Gaussian noise channel and each fading channel which is dependent on carrier-to-noise power ratio (CNR) is found. Also the improvement of channel capacity of Rayleigh fading channel by introducing two-branch diversities is obtained. For diversity reception, predetection maximal-ratio and postdetection selective combining techniques are adopted. The results show that the improvement of channel capacity by predetection maximal-ratio combining diversity is superior to the postdetection selective combining diversitiy regardless of correlation coefficient between two diversity branches in Raylelgh fading channel. The best improvement is achieved when two branches are noncorrelative in both two diversify techniques and as correlation coefficient of two diversity branches is smaller, the improvement of channel capacity is greater.

In part-1 of this paper, the error rate equations of digitally modulated signals transmitted though the Gaussian/Impulsive noise channel have been derived. Using the derived equations for the error probabilities of ASK, QAM, CPSK, DPSK, FSK and MSK signals, the error rate performances of digital modulation systems have been evaluated and represented in the figures as the functions of carrier-to-noise power ratio(CNR), impulsive index, and the ration of Gaussian noise power component to impulsive noise power component. The results are shown in graphs to known how much impulsive noise effects on digital signals than Gaussian noise.
This paper proposes a novel concept of adjusting the hardware size in a multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) receiver in real time as per the channel parameters such as delay spread, signal-to-noise ratio, transmission rate, and Doppler frequency. The fast Fourier transform (FFT) or inverse FFT (IFFT) size in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)/MC-CDMA transceivers varies from 1024 points to 16 points. Two low-power reconfigurable radix-4 256-point FFT processor architectures are proposed that can also be dynamically configured as 64-point and 16-point as per the channel parameters to prove the concept. By tailoring the clock of the higher FFT stages for longer FFTs and switching to shorter FFTs from longer FFTs, significant power saving is achieved. In addition, two 256 sub-carrier MC-CDMA receiver architectures are proposed which can also be configured for 64 sub-carriers in real time to prove the feasibility of the concept over the whole receiver.

This study evaluates the performance of an optical receiver for binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signals in the presence of short noise originating from the photo diode and phase noise of the optical source. The case of using I.O. hybrid compare with the fiber optic hybrid to mix received optical signal and laser local oscillator signal. The impact of these noise is minimized if loop natural frequency and power split ratio between data and carrier recovery branch are choosen optimally. Then it is obtained that required laser linewidt to achieve a BER of 10**-9. The results are the same except theat in case of using the fiber optic hybrid the required optical power is twice as much as the I.O. hybrid.
