This thesis focuses on the 3D interface tab page type and mode of screen that affect the usability of the small screen devices such as smartphone. The experiments examined eight 3D UI designs, combinations of two modes (Portrait, Landscape) of screen, and four types (Vertical data mountain, Horizontal data mountain, Vertical carousel, Horizontal carousel). Twenty-six participants participated in the experiment. The completion time, preference and fun score were measured. The results showed that the vertical data mountain type provide the best performance in terms of the all conditions. The results of this study suggest a practical approach for the 3D UI tab page design for the small screen devices.

국내외 방송환경이 디지털로 급속히 변화함에 따라서 지상파, 케이블, 위성 등의 기존 방송망을 이용하며 서비스 제공자가 제공하는 데이터 서비스를 사용자가 요청 할 때 전송하는 데이터 방송은 기존의 비디오, 오디오 방송 프로그램 이외에 방송과 관련된 데이터 또는 방송과는 직접 관련이 없는 순수한 데이터를 제공하게 되었다. 데이터 방송 표준 단체인 DVB(Digital Video Broadcasting)에서는 데이터 방송 시 데이터 전송 기법으로 데이터 스트리밍(Data Streaming), 데이터 파이핑(Data Piping), 데이터 캐루셀(Data Carousel), 멀티프로토콜 인캡슐레이션(Multiprotocol Encapsulation), 객체 캐루셀(Object Carousel)을 제안하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 데이터 방송에 사용되는 데이터를 효율적으로 관리하기 위하여 메시지 캐슁과 모듈 캐슁을 기반으로 한 데이터 캐루셀 매니저 설계와 구현에 관한 내용을 다룬다.

지상파, 케이블, 위성 등의 기존 방송망을 이용하여, 사용자의 부합하는 데이터를 전송하는 데이터 방송 기법에 대한 연구와 표준화 작업이 활발하게 진행 중이다. 우리나라의 경우, 무궁화 위성을 이용한 부가 데이터 방송을 구현하고자 연구중이다. 데이터 방송시 데이터 전송 기법에는 데이터 스트리인(data streaming). 데이터 파이핑(data piping),데이터 캐루셀(data carousel)등이 제안되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 표준화 단체인 DVB에서 정의하고 있는 데이터 전송 기법에 대한 소개와, 함께, 데이터 캐루셀을 이용한 데이터 방송 구현에 필요한 소프트웨어 설계와 실제 구현에 관한 내용을 담고 있다.

Convergence is increasingly prevalent in the IT world which generally refers to the combination of two or more different technologies in a single device. Especially, the spectrum scarcity is becoming a big issue because there are exponential growth of broadcasting and communication systems in the spectrum demand. Cognitive radio (CR) is a convergence technology that is envisaged to solve the problems in wireless networks resulting from the limited available spectrum and the inefficiency in the spectrum usage by exploiting the existing wireless spectrum opportunistically. However, the very process of convergence is likely to expose significant security issues due to the merging of what have been separate services and technologies and also as a result of the introduction of new technologies. The main purpose of this research is focused on devising an adaptive security framework based on carousel for CR networks as a distinct telecommunication convergence application, which are still at the stage of being developed and standardized with the lack of security concerns. The framework uses a secure credential, named as carousel, initialized with the location related information from objects position, which is used to design security mechanisms for supporting privacy and various securities based on it. The proposed adaptive security framework could be used as a security building block for the CR network standards and various convergence applications.

This paper deals with an automated storage carrousel which handles work-in-process(WIP) such as small parts for kitting. The system has been used predominately for order picking applications. Throughput performance of the system can be measured by the inverse of the expected order picking time. Analytic models are developed for approximating the expected times under the "nearest-item" sequencing rule. The performance of the models are tested through computer simulation. The gap between the two is shown to be reasonably small.

A synthesis of new $\beta$-ketoacetoanilide chloride derivatives and anti fungal activity of these compounds library against 6 typical plant pathogens were described. Reaction of ketene dimer with chlorine followed by treatment of aniline derivatives gave 89 kinds of the corresponding $\beta$-ketoacetoanilide chlorides through combinatorial synthetic technology using Carousel Reaction Stations. Evaluation of antifungal activity (in vivo) of this chemical library against rice blast, rice sheath blight, tomato aray mold, tomato late blight, wheat leaf rust and barley powdery mildew was carried out. In general, $\beta$-ketoacetoanilide chlorides which present a substituent at 4 in phenyl group(para) of the compounds showed selective control activity against tomato late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans.
