This paper proposes high quality of healthcare environments for a user-oriented children's hospital by identifying the user needs according to residential characteristics of the child, especially the hospitalization period. Caregivers, mostly parents of children in a children's hospital, participated in a questionnaire survey. The user's demands, satisfaction and hospital environment assessment were measured. A total of 103 copies of the questionnaire were finally collected and analyzed. The data was processed statistically using SPSS WIN 18.0 Version software. The results and conclusions are as follows. 1)The participants were categorized into three groups according to the hospitalization period of the child (less than 7 days, 7-20 days, and more than 21 days). 2)When the patients stayed longer in the hospital, their satisfaction was lower and their demands were higher. The long-term group required a more spacious bathroom for the child inpatients and their caregivers as well as sufficient individual storage spaces that are appropriate for the length of stay. 3)The longer they were hospitalized, the more negative they evaluated the hospital environment. These results suggest that the period of hospitalization is one of the crucial factors that impact the user's satisfaction and demands. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the design factors such as territoriality, privacy, accessability, and aesthetics to improve the satisfaction of the long-term child inpatients and their caregivers.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to confirm the necessity and effectiveness of the memory school by investigating the perception of users and caregivers about the services and programs provided by the memory school, a social welfare institution for the elderly with minor dementia. For this purpose, 363 students and students in Daegu City were surveyed about the satisfaction and attitude of using memory school. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the use of the memory school is very helpful to the users, and at the same time, it is very meaningful for the decrease of the caregiver burden of the caregiver. Thus, it can be seen that the memory school has the effect of appropriately matching the installation purpose of the facility. In particular, it was found that the degree of satisfaction with the program level, type of service, and future sustainability of the memory school exceeded 90%. Therefore, this study aims to provide policy implications for the social welfare response for the elderly with mild dementia and for the basic data on the memory school for this purpose.

There is a need to develop an app for a caregiver health management that can provide continuous management in response to changes over time, because elderly people have low digital utilization capabilities, difficulty maintaining regular and continuous self-management. Based on this need, this study designed an app with a user-friendly UI and simple structure for the elderly. The app developed in this study supports regular management of health data such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart rate, as well as specific information on physical, disease, cognitive, communication, and environment in the care field. The app developed in this study supports care services by automatically entering data through integration with health management devices, automatically analyzing and visually representing recorded data to understand trends and volatility, and adding scalability to connect with various health management and medical support platforms. The effectiveness and satisfaction of the developed app were confirmed to be significant in the field verification results.

The purpose of this study was to develop a wandering management guideline for family caregivers of community-dwelling elders with dementia (EWD). In the first stage of the study, focus group and individual interviews (n=10) were performed to analyze family caregivers' experiences about wandering of the EWD under their care. In the second stage, preliminary contents for the guideline were made based on the interview results of family caregivers and reviews of literature. Final version of the guideline with 86 items was established after experts' review using the Content Validity Index analysis. In the final stage, a pilot test was conducted to evaluate the guideline using a sample of 13 family caregivers of EWD. Family caregivers were educated about how to use the guideline and asked to complete a set of questionnaire to examine their knowledge about wandering, degree of application of the guideline, and satisfaction with the guideline. Family caregivers' knowledge score was significantly improved (p=0.014) and the average scores in the process evaluation (9 items) and user satisfaction (7 items) about the guideline were 2.69-3.46 (range: 1-4), and 2.85-3.38 (range: 1-4), respectively. Further study with a large random sample is necessary to confirm the results of this study.
