Method: Participants were 583 people who were prescribed antihypertensive medications at a health clinic located in South Chungcheong Province. The survey was done from June 1 to July 30, 2018. A self-report questionnaire was administered, and data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation coefficients with the SPSS 24.0 program. Results: The rate of awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension were 97.9%, 99.1% and 92.8%, respectively. The number of hypertensive self-care behaviors was 1.82 (${\pm}0.36$) out of 3 points. The quality of hypertension management was 3.22 (${\pm}0.46$) out of 4 points. There was a moderate correlation between hypertensive self-care behaviors and quality of hypertension management (r=.340, p<.001). Conclusions: Results of this study confirm that the quality of hypertension management by community health practitioners is related to self-care behaviors of hypertensive patients. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of hypertension management by health care specialists for self-management of hypertension patients. In addition, a systematic program to improve the quality of hypertension management by community health practitioner is needed.

Proper glucose management in hospitalized patients can improve clinical outcomes. In particular, intensive care unit (ICU) patients are known to have significantly higher rates of mortality from changes in blood glucose due to severe comorbidities. Improving glucose control in ICU patients, therefore, can improve mortality and prognosis. Several studies related to the management of blood glucose in the ICU patients have been conducted. Intensive glucose management of surgical ICU patients has been successful. However, studies on medical ICU patients did not demonstrate positive effects of strict glycemic control. There is no independent glucose management goal for neurological ICU patients. However, maintenance of the usual glucose control target of 140-180 mg/dL is recommended for ICU patients. Intravenous insulin infusion is essential for glucose control in ICU patients not consuming a regular diet, and caution should be exercised to prevent hypoglycemia.

Although there were some differences according to institution type, most of the faculty members wanted food allergy-related support. Conclusions: This study identified a lack of food allergy training for faculty members in child care centers. For proper management, it is necessary for faculty members of child care centers to be educated on overall food allergies. Food allergy-related support such as menus without allergenic ingredients, guidelines on emergency care for food allergies and anaphylaxis should be provided for faculty members in child care centers.
This study looked into the current conditions in Korean and Japanese care management for the elderly, cases of consumer counseling in these countries, and the supporting institutions for Japanese users regarding the use of care management for the elderly. The number of recipients of care management for the elderly in both Korea and Japan is growing every year, and more Japanese users receive various services compared to Korean users. The results of an analysis on consumer counseling regarding the use of Korean and Japanese care management revealed, two types of complaints: counseling for the improvement of the institution and complaints related to the procurement of service. Regarding the insurance system, the complaints were mostly related to affirmation of a rating and the burden incurred by cost-sharing. Regarding the use of service, such key impairment cases were related to in-service medical accidents, illegal acts including caregiver contract violations and forced retirement, careless service by workers, and human rights violations of the elderly. Japan has developed governmental and, related-administrative and business services as well as a local governmental system to redress customer impairment issues as this pertains to service for better quality care management. In addition, they have enlarged the locally closed service, provided exact information about the services offered, and improved service appraisal techniques. The Japanese cases will serve as a good reference to improve the Korean system. In particular, the construction of a system that reduces customer losses and the availability of more counseling information are urgently required to improve the system in terms of customer experiences when they seek care management.
