The Carbonate Beach Sediments Along the Geumgeri Goast, Jin Island, Korea

  • Over 50 carbonate samples were collected from the Geumgeri coast, Jin Island Textural characters, percent calcium carbonate and nature of the carbonate sediment were determined. Apparently the carbonate beach sediments were derived from the adjacent nearshore. The carbonate sediments contain over 90 percent of molluscan sheel particles, especially oyster shell fragments. The volumetric contribution of the shell fragment to the carbonate sediments is so large that the pre-existed oyster-reef like banks in the nearshore off the Geumgeri coast, Jin Island represent a spectacular example of carbonate sedimentary processes.

  • Bast fibers of paper mulberry ( Broussonetia Kazinoki Sieb) were cooked with a weak alkaline salt, potassium carbonate which has been known as a major inorganic component of the traditional lye, and its cooking characteristics were investigated . The bast fiber was easily cooked by potassium carbonate. The pulp yield was rapidly decreased up to 20-30 mol of potassium carbonate, but the Kappa number was slowly decreased with increasing of potassium carbonate. The potassium carbonate pulps were easily defibered at low cooking chemical charge of 25mm on and high pulp yield of about 80%. These results were confirmed that pectin was easily removed during the potassium carbonate cooking. In contrast, when sodium carbonate was used as a cooling agent, the bast fiber was only partially defibered. Thus, sodium carbonate was a less effective cooling chemical of the bast fiber. The results of this experiment indicated that potassium carbonate could not only be used as a good cooling agent of bast fiber, but also as an alternative agent of sodium hydroxide.

  • cyclic carbonate 가운데 하나인 4-ethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one가 poly(butylene carbonate)의 열분해에 의하여 합성되었다. poly(butylene carbonate)는 1,2-Epoxybutane라 이산화탄소로 합성되어졌다. 합성된 4-ethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one는 GC-Mass를 이용하여 분석 확인되었다. 이러한 새로운 합성법은 cyclic carbonate 계의 합성에 새로운 정보를 제안할 수 있다.

저급 탄산리튬의 재결정화를 통한 고순도 탄산리튬 제조에 대한 연구 (A study on the fabrication of high purity lithium carbonate by recrystallization of low grade lithium carbonate)

  • 리튬이차전지 제조 공정 중 발생한 폐액으로부터 회수된 탄산리튬의 경우, 이차전지 양극재의 원료인 코발트, 니켈 및 망간의 중금속이 함유되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 탄산리튬의 재결정화를 통하여 순도 98.28 %의 저급 탄산리튬 분말에 함유된 중금속을 제거하고 탄산리튬의 순도를 높이고자 하였다. 먼저 염산 수용액을 이용하여 탄산리튬의 침출 효율을 살펴보았으며, pH 5 조건으로 침출 후 탄산나트륨의 당량 및 농도의 탄산리튬 재결정에 대한 영향을 확인하였다. 리튬의 함량 기준 대비 탄산나트륨 1 당량에서 1.5로 증가할수록, 농도 1.4 M에서 2.8 M로 증가할수록 회수율은 향상되었으며, 탄산나트륨의 투입 조건이 달라짐에 따라 결정 형상이 달라지는 것을 SEM 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 재결정된 탄산리튬 분말은 수세하여 순도 99.9 % 이상의 고순도 탄산리튬을 회수할 수 있었다.

Nickel Subsulfide의 세포독성, 유전독성, 변이원성 및 세포변이에 대한 Magnesuim Carbonate의억제효과 (Inhibitory Effects of Magnesuim Carbonate on Cytotoxicity, Genotoxicity, Mutagenicity, and Cell Transformation by Nickel Subsulfide)

  • In order to know the inhibitory effect of magnesium carbonate(MgCO3) on cytotoxicity, DNA damage, mutagenicity, and cell transforming ability of nickel subsulfide, the inhibition of cell proliferation, DNA-protein crosslinks formation (DPC), HGPRT point mutation, and cell transformation were evaluated. Nickel subsulfide(Ni3S2) and magnesium carbonate as insoluble compounds were used for this study. BALB/3T3 cell, CHO-K1 cell, and C3H10T1/2 cell were used in this experiment. Exposure concentration of nickel subsulfide was 1 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml. The concentrations of magnesium carbonate in this study were 0.6 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml, 1.2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml, 2.4 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml and the molar ratio of magnesium to nickel when exposed simultanously were 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 respectively. The results were as follows; 1. Magnesium carbonate reduced the inhibitory effect of nickel subsulfide on cell proliferation. 2. Magnesium carbonate also reduced the effect of nickel subsulfide on DNA-protein crosslinks formation. 3. HGPRT point mutagenicity of nickel subsulfide was reduced when magnesium carbonate treated simultaneously. 4. Magnesium carbonate reduced cell transforming ability of nickel subsulfide. Conclusively, nickel subsulfide showed cytotoxicity, cell transforming ability, and mutagenicity strongly and magnesium carbonate may have protective roles in these nickel effects.

프로베네시드와 탄산리튬의 약물상호작용 (Drug Interaction of Probenecid and Lithium Carbonate)

  • The drug interaction between probenecid and lithium carbonate was studied pharmacokinetically in rabbits. The blood level and the area under the concentration curve (AUC) of lithium carbonate administered orally were elevated by coadministration of probenecid. Probenecid inhibited the urinary excretion of lithium carbonate in rabbits. Biological half-life and $t_{max}$ of lithium carbonate were prolonged by coadministration of probenecid. From these results, dosage regimen of lithium carbonate is considered to be adjusted for effective and safe therapy in the coadministration of probenecid.

  • New amino protective reagents, t-butyl benzotriazol-1-yl carbonate and benzyl benzotriazol-1-yl carbonate, for t-butoxycarbonylation and benzyloxycarbonylation of amines and amino acids have been developed. t-Butyl benzotriazol-1-yl carbonate reacts rapidly and cleanly with various amines and amino acids to afford N-Boc amines and N-Boc amino acids in high yields and benzyl benzotriazol-1-yl carbonate is also found to be very effective in the benzyloxycarbonylation of amino acids.

  • 1. 제사용수의 pH가 총탄산이 낮은 용수에서는 견층 Sericin 용해에 미치는 영향이 적었지만, 총탄산이 높은 용수에서는 견층 Sericin 용해에 미치는 영향이 컸다. 2. 총탄산이 낮은 용수에서는 견층처리전후의 pH변화가 컸지만 총탄산이 높은 용수에서는 그 변화가 적었다. 3. 무탄산 증류수로 표준경도용액을 만들어 견층을 처리한 결과 경도가 높고 낮은데 대한 Sericin 용액관계는 없었다.

Preparation of Regenerated Cellulose Fiber via Carbonation. I. Carbonation and Dissolution in an Aqueous NaOH Solution

  • Cellulose carbonate was prepared by the reaction of cellulose pulp and $CO_2$ with treatment reagents, such as aqueous $Zncl_2$ (20-40 wt%) solution, acetone or ethyl acetate, at -5-$0^{\circ}C$ and 30-40 bar ($CO_2$) for 2 hr. Among the treatment reagents, ethyl acetate was the most effective. Cellulose carbonate was dissolved in 10% sodium hydroxide solution containing zinc oxide up to 3 wt% at -5-$0^{\circ}C$. Intrinsic viscosities of raw cellulose and cellulose carbonate were measured with an Ubbelohde viscometer using 0.5 M cupriethylenediamine hydroxide (cuen) as a solvent at $20^{\circ}C$ according to ASTM D1795 method. The molecular weight of cellulose was rarely changed by carbonation. Solubility of cellulose carbonate was tested by optical microscopic observation, UV absorbance and viscosity measurement. Phase diagram of cellulose carbonate was obtained by combining the results of solubility evaluation. Maximum concentration of cellulose carbonate for soluble zone was increased with increasing zinc oxide content. Cellulose carbonate solution in good soluble zone was transparent and showed the lowest absorbance and the highest viscosity. The cellulose carbonate and its solution were stable in refrigerator (-$5^{\circ}C$ and atmospheric pressure).

The exploration of U(VI) concentration improvement in carbonate medium for alkaline reprocessing process

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the concentration of U(VI) in carbonate solution reasonably, which to improve the application potential of the alkaline reprocessing processes. The dissolution behavior of U3O8 in carbonate peroxide solutions was investigated under different conditions, including pH, carbonate concentration, and solid-liquid ratio. The results showed that the dissolution rate of U3O8 increased with the increase of pH from 8 to 11 in the mixed carbonate solution containing 0.5 mol/L H2O2. The role of carbonate ions in the dissolution of U3O8 was further elucidated by observing the dissolution of UO4⋅4H2O in carbonate solutions. Furthermore, the concentration of U(VI) in 3 mol/L Na2CO3 solution was successfully increased to 350 g/L under ultrasonic-assisted conditions at 60 ℃ and a solid-liquid ratio at 1/2 g/mL. Meanwhile, it is suggested that increasing the concentration of carbonate ions can improve the stability of the dissolved solution containing uranyl peroxycarbonate complex.
