쌀겨 바이오차와 분말 활성탄을 이용한 메틸렌 블루와 휴믹산 제거 효율 비교 (Comparative Evaluation of Methylene Blue and Humic Acids Removal Efficiency Using Rice Husk Derived Biochars and Powdered Activated Carbon)

  • This study evaluated the removal efficiencies of methylene blue (MB) and humic acids (HA) using a rice husk (RH) biochar and powdered activated carbon (PAC). The pseudo-second-order model better presented the adsorption of MB and HA onto a RH biochar than the pseudo-first-order model. Furthermore, better description of the adsorption behavior of MB and HA by the Langmuir isotherm model (R2 of the RH biochar: MB = 0.986 and HA = 0.984; R2 of PAC: MB = 0.997 and HA = 0.989) than the Freundlich isotherm model (R2 of the RH biochar: MB = 0.955 and HA = 0.965; R2 of PAC: MB = 0.982 and HA = 0.973) supports the assumption that monolayer adsorption played key roles in the removal of MB and HA using the RH biochar and PAC. Batch experiments were performed on the effects of dosage, temperature, and pH. For all experiments, PAC showed higher efficiencies than RH biochar and MB adsorption efficiencies were higher than those of HA. Adsorption efficiencies increased with increasing amounts of adsorbents and temperature. As the pH increased, adsorption efficiencies of MB were increased while adsorption efficiencies of HA were decreased.

활성탄 지지체상에서 제올라이트 4A 합성 및 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of Zeolite 4A on Activated Carbon Supports)

  • 입상활성탄의 기공내에 알루미노실리케이트 겔을 침적시킨 후 수열합성하여 제올라이트 4A가 담지된 복합 분자체를 제조하였다. 평균입경이 $0.8{\mu}m$ 정도 되는 미세한 제올라이트 4A 결정이 활성탄의 macro pore상에 포획된 상태로 존재하였다. 입상활성탄의 기공부피는 $0.67m{\ell}/g$이였으며, 제올라이트 4A가 21.6wt% 담지된 시료의 경우에는 $0.41m{\ell}/g$으로서 약 40% 정도 기공부피가 감소하였다. 입상활성탄에 담지된 제올라이트 4A의 칼슘이온 교환능은 320mg $CaCO_3/g$ zeolite 정도로서 분말상 제올라이트 4A와 거의 비슷하였다. 초음파 분산 과정에서 입상활성탄 지지체상에 담지된 제올라이트 4A 결정은 용액상으로 분리되지는 않았다. 제올라이트 4A가 담지된 시료의 수분흡착 등온선은 Type I과 Type III의 중간 형태였으며, 친수 및 친유성 흡착 특성을 동시에 나타내었다.

IoT 기반 탄소중립 모듈형 스마트 온실 구현 (Implementation of IoT-based carbon-neutral modular smart greenhouse)

  • 최근 디지털 농업에 있어서 IoT를 기반으로 한 온실의 종류 및 활용이 확산되고 있으며, 온실의 현대화, 대형화와 스마트 기술을 활용한 공장화까지 진행되고 있다. 그러나 스마트 온실에서의 데이터 수집을 위한 장비와 온실의 크기나 모양과 같은 형태에 따른 구체적 규격화 방안이 제시되지 못하고 있다. 즉, 온실의 규모에 따른 센서와 장비의 종류 및 개수, 작물 및 탄소 중립에 부합하는 온실 시공 필름 종류와 자재 등 시설 설비를 위한 표준 자료가 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 데이터 수집을 위한 IoT 장비의 구현, 설치 및 수량의 적합성에대하여 시험하였으며, 데이터 수집과 통신 방식의 구현을 통해 일부 표준기술을 제시하였다. 또한, 기존 온실의 90% 정도를 차지하고 있는 PE, PVC, EVA에 대한 충격강도, 인장, 인열, 신장율, 광투과성 및 수명 문제를 제시하였고, 필름으로 만들어지는 온실의 형태나 규모, 환경적 문제점을 본문에 제시하였다. 본 연구 논문에서는 온실 규모나 농가작물의 형태, 온실 수명 및 필름의 환경적 문제의 해결책으로 나노 소재 필름을 활용한 규격화된 탄소중립 모듈형 스마트 온실을 구현하고 기존 온실과의 성능을 분석·제시하였다. 이를 통해 온실의 규모나 농가작물의 형태에 구분이 없고, 수명이 연장되고 규격화되어 확장 및 축소가 자유로운 묘듈화된 온실을 제안한다. 최종적으로 기존PE, PVC, EVA 필름을 사용한 온실의 평균적 특성과 새로운 탄소중립형 나노 소재를 사용한 온실의 특성을 비교 검토하고, 탄소중립을 지원하는 확장 가능형 IoT 온실의 구현 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

친환경 에너지 절약을 위한 열차운전 최적화 연구 (A Study on the Train Operation Optimization for Energy Saving)

  • In line with the expansion of electric railway, reducing carbon emission and optimal train operation are required by economical, eco-friendly and efficient management. Most of the energy consumption in electric railway is consumed by train operation. So it is important that minimize the energy consumption in train operation. An analysis of the operation performance of the new model vehicle which in South Korea, Korail introduced shows that the energy consumption is different in line with the skill level of the engine driver. In this study, the know-how of train operation of a skilled engine driver is systematized by using artificial intelligence, and the technique which supports engine drivers with train operation was offered. As a result of applying in South Korea, the Gyeongbu line by using simulation, it confirmed that the maximum 20% can reduce the energy consumption in comparison with unskilled engine drivers in case of applying the Expert System.

충돌해석을 이용한 전기자동차 복합소재 프레임 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Composite Materials Frame of Electric Vehicles using Impact Analysis)

  • In this study, we designed car frames for collision analysis using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) as the lighter composite material. The impact conditions were 100 percent frontal impact, 40 percent frontal impact, and 90 degrees side impact. The impact analysis measured the maximum stress at velocities of 20km/h and 40km/h for each condition and evaluated the vulnerable points in the car frame. Additional supports have been designed both to improve the weak points in existing vehicle frames, and to be taken into account when new parts are assembled. Our impact analysis compared the results of maximum stress on the car frame with and without the support.

  • In this article, free vibration attributes of double-walled carbon nanotubes based on nonlocal elastic shell model have been investigated. For this purpose, a nonlocal Flügge shell model is established to observe the small scale effect. The wave propagation is employed to frame the governing equations as eigenvalue system. The influence of nonlocal parameter subjected to different end supports has been overtly examined. A suitable choice of material properties and nonlocal parameter been focused to analyze the vibration characteristics. The new set of inner and outer tubes radii investigated in detail against aspect ratio and length. The dominance of boundary conditions via nonlocal parameter is shown graphically. The results generated furnish the evidence regarding applicability of nonlocal shell model and also verified by earlier published literature.

Polyol Synthesis of Ruthenium Selenide Catalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction

  • Ruthenium catalysts modified by selenium have been introduced as alternative materials to Pt in Direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). RuSe nano-particles were synthesized on the Vulcan XC72R carbon supports via polyol method. The prepared catalysts were electrochemically and physically characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV,) linear sweep voltammetry, methanol tolerance test, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Energydispersive Spectrometer (EDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Increasing the Se concentration up to 20 at % increased the electro-catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction. By increasing Se amount, Ru metallic form on the surface was increased. The $Ru_{80}Se_{20}$/C catalysts showed the highest oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and outstanding methanol tolerant property in half cell tests as well as single cell test.

  • The newly synthesized homogeneous chiral Co(III) salen complexes were anchored non-covalently on the acidic sites of mesoporous Al-SBA-15. The Bronsted and Lewis acidic sites are attributed to the immobilization of fluorine functionalized chiral salen complexes on the supports. XRD, BET, TEM, FT-IR and ESCA (XPS) analyses were performed to characterize the property of support, and the structure of new homogeneous and heterogeneous chiral Co salen catalyst. The homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts could be applied in asymmetric ring opening of epichlorohydrine (ECH) by water. They showed very high enantioselectivity and a good yield up to 99% in the catalytic synthesis of optically active products.

  • This study focuses on a determination of amount of Pt in the Pt/C for catalysts of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). PEMFC offer low weight and high power density and being considered for automotive and stationary power applications. The PEMFC performance is influenced by several factors, including catalysts and structure of electrode and membrane type. Catalyst of electrode is important factor for PEMFC. One of the obstacles prevent ing polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells from commercialization is the high cost of noble metals to be used as catalyst, such as platinum To effectively use these metals, they have to be will dispersed to small particles on conductive carbon supports. The optimal amount of Pt in Pt/C for cathode catalyst was investigated by using polarization curves in single cell with $H_2/O_2$ operation.

Eringen's nonlocal model sandwich with Kelvin's theory for vibration of DWCNT

  • In this paper, vibration characteristics of chiral double-walled carbon nanotubes entrenched on Kelvin's model. The Eringen's nonlocal elastic equations are being combined with Kelvin's theory to observe small scale response. A nonlocal model has been formulated to explore the frequency spectrum of chiral double-walled CNTs along with diversity of indices and nonlocal parameter. Wave propagation is proposed technique to establish field equations of model subjected to four distinct end supports. The significance of scale effect in relevance of length-to-diameter and thickness- to- radius ratios are discussed and displayed in detail.
