Performance characteristics of a vehicle active suspension system with an optimal variable structure controller (최적 가변구조제어기를 갖는 차량 능동 현가시스템의 성능특성에 관한 연구)

  • The performances of a vehicle active suspension system with an optimal variable structure controller are compared to those of passive suspension system and active suspension systems with sky-hook and optimal controllers. The quater car model has a 2 DOF which accounts for vertical motions of a sprung and a unsprung masses. The transient responses are analyzed when a vehicle passing through a bump with a constant speed and the frequency responses are analyzed for white noise input at wheel. Particulary, RMS responses are also analyzed. It is shown that the optimal variable structure controller gives better performance of the vehicle active suspensio system than an optimal and a sky-hook controller.

  • This paper presents a new method of segmenting characters in a car licence plate which is less influenced by illumination variation. It uses an anisotropic filter to reduce the lighting noise and a histogram specification scheme to obtain the binary image. Anisotropic smoothing filter process the input images, which are acquired under different lighting conditions, so that they may have similar image quality. The enhanced performance of the proposed algorithm has been proved by the experiment.

  • Some open jet wind tunnels have been operating under limitations due to large pressure fluctuations at some wind tunnel speeds. The Hyundai Aero-acoustic full scale Wind Tunnel (HAWT), which was completed in 1999, shows that most of the specifications were fulfilled but wind tunnel pulsations at some wind speeds were observed. Hyundai Motor Company started the wind tunnel modification in order to solve this problem in 2001. After the modification work the amplitude of pressure fluctuation was reduced and below required level over full wind speed range. Aero-acoustic performance, e.g. background noise, as well as aerodynamic performance were improved after this work.

  • A comprehensive review for the selection of urban rail vehicle systems that best suit Gimpo railway line is taking place with consideration of the project area characteristics in light of line planning, passenger demand, supply of rolling stock, and railway construction and operation. Various aspects of vehicle systems including passenger demand on concerned lines, regional characteristics, vehicle types, and railway construction and operational settings should be taken into consideration. In addition, request for the introduction of customized vehicle systems reflecting the convenience of transit users such as wide and hospitable inner space, low noise, flexible operation of 2 to 4 car train-set and eye catching slim bridge piers is increasing. A study on alternatives to place an order to opt for optimum rolling stock systems considering line characteristics of Gimpo City's urban railway and future passenger demand while meeting the needs of Gimpo City has been conducted.

  • Resistance welding processes are widely used in automotive applications. In particular, Mash-Seam resistance welding is typically used in Tailored Blank process. If spot welds are changed to a continuous weld, it's easy to reduce noise and to be more stable in cars. A arc welding, laser welding, seam welding using wheel electrode are available to make continuous welds on a car body, but they demand operator with advanced skills and expensive cost to develop. Therefore, flat electrode continuous mash-seam resistance welding process has been used to improve the weak points in currently available system in lap seam welding. This developed process has much more strength and air tightability, and also has much better plastic workability than laser welding. Moreover, commercial RSW machine can be readily used in this welding process.

  • 최근 선진 자동차 회사에서는 변속기 개발 단계에서 기어 소음 문제를 해결하고 차량의 소음 품질을 향상시키기 위하여 많은 연구가 수행되고 있다. 그러나, 설계 단계에서 기어 소음을 고려한 기어 제원 결정이 불가능하여, 설계 완료 후 개발 단계에서 기어 소음 문제를 해결하는 것이 매우 어려운 일이었고, 설사 가능하여도 시간적, 성능적인 한계가 있었다. 기어 소음은 크게 Source 와 전달경로의 문제로 나누어지고, 본 연구는 주로 전자에 중점을 둘 것이며, 기어 화인 소음의 주 요인으로 알려져 있는 기어의 전달 오차를 최소화하는 것이다. 그 방법으로 기어 설계의 선진 핵심 기술인 기어 해석을 통한 기어 화인 소음을 최소화하는 최적 기어 설계 제원 결정이다.

  • This paper presents an active suspension control algorithm to improve the suspension performance trade-offs between riding comfort and handling stability. In this paper, a hybrid control scheme is proposed, the idea of which is that sliding mode control is used for nonlinear hydraulic system and the skyhook control is applied to control the vehicle behavior. The parameter variations in hydraulic system are considered for the robust controller design. The performance of the proposed control method is evaluated by simulation and experiments based on a half car roll model which can reveal both heave and roll behavior.

  • The object of this article is to study the plausibility of applying human voice warning system to automobiles. Human voice is considered the best tool for warning system in automobiles. For the purpose of comprehending the specific characteristics of relation between noises and properties of the automobiles indoors and voice warning system researcher performed FRF test in order to examine the characteristics of voice output, and FEM simulation to learn the specific properties of the car indoors. And furthermore, surveyed the quality of voice output, using the written inquiry to examine members. The result of the study shows that it is much possible to apply voice warning system to automobiles.

  • High speed switching action of PWM inverter is being further advanced for electric motor vehicles. Due to this high speed switching action, extensive high frequency electromagnetic noise emerges. Therefore counterm-easures against electromagnetic interference of electric motor vehicles become increasingly important.   • Depot have a lagged behind structure in the side of building up the view. With this reason, people have been recognized depot as hatred facility causes to have car noise, air pollution. In the other hand, depot become a underground and complex facility as a higher-value added building, and moreover, it need to understand the environment that depot structure have a specific field condition to apply green roof system. 1) Analysis proper waterproofing material and root barrier apply to depot need root penetrating test method 2) Suggest root barrier and waterproofing material relate to maintain and construction for green roof system 3) Construction condition for depot have crack movement of structure by vehicle vibration and root penetrating force by plant growth
