Using a conventional railway, a tilting train was applied as a means of improving vehicle speed curve negotiation without any modification of infrastructure. In order to achieve the optimal car-body position control through the tilting mechanism, a dynamics analysis was required after the kinematics analysis of the tilting mechanism. For this, the geometric relationship of the linkage-type tilting mechanism was defined. Then, the equations of motion for the half car-body were derived. With the derived equations, the effect of the parameter change on performance was analyzed. The analysis result can be used in the optimum design of a tilting mechanism that considers the track environment, vehicle and operational conditions in which the tilting vehicle is applied.

We proposed the KPP (Korea university Path Planner) in our previous works. The KPP is the path planning scheme of a car-like mobile robot in parking environment. The objective of this paper is to investigate the advantage of the KPP through the quantitative and qualitative analysis compared with conventional RRT. For comparison, we proposed travel time for performance index. This paper shows that the KPP shows outstanding performances from the viewpoint of travel time and computational efficiency compared with RRT.
The stretching vibration of OH of ice Ih is studied by Car-Parrinello molecular dynamics in regarding the effect of mixed H/D contamination while the vibrational spectrum is considered by velocity-velocity autocorrelations of the sampled ensemble. When hydrogen atoms are immersed randomly into the deuterated ice, a typical vibrational frequency of OH stretching mode is observed to be similar to that from the pure $H_2O$ ice. When focusing on the correlation of isolated neighboring OH stretching, a narrower and blue shifted peak is observed at the high frequency range as a result of the screening from the complex many body correlations by $D_2O$ environment. It is also specifically related to the symmetric intermolecular correlations between neighboring OH stretching modes. More enhanced high frequency range can be explained by the expansion of such two body correlations to collective many body correlations among all possible OH stretching modes. This contribution becomes important when it involves in chemical interactions via excitation of such vibrational states.

Recently, there has been a growing interest in integrating physical toys into video gaming within the game content business. This paper introduces a novel method that leverages low-cost camera as an alternative to using sensor attachments to meet this rising demand. We address the limitations associated with low-cost cameras and propose an optical design tailored to the specific environment of model car recognition. We overcome the inherent limitations of low-cost cameras by proposing an optical design specifically tailored for model car recognition. This approach primarily focuses on recognizing the underside of the car and addresses the challenges associated with this particular perspective. Our method employs a transfer learning model that is specifically trained for this task. We have achieved a 100% recognition rate, highlighting the importance of collecting data under various camera exposures. This paper serves as a valuable case study for incorporating low-cost cameras into vision systems.
Voice activity detection is very important process that voice activity separated form noisy speech signal for speech enhance. Over the past few years, many studies have been made on voice activity detection, but it has poor performance in low signal to noise ratio environment or fickle noise such as car noise. In this paper, it proposed new voice activity detection algorithm using ensemble variance based on wavelet band entropy and soft thresholding method. We conduct a survey in a lot of signal to noise ratio environment of car noise to evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm and confirmed performance of the proposed algorithm.
The interior of an automobile is a very noisy environment with both stationary cruising noise and the reverberated music or speech coming out from the audio system. For robust speech recognition in a car environment, it is necessary to extract a driver's voice command well by removing those background noises. Since we can handle the music and speech signals from an audio system in a car, the reverberated music and speech sounds can be removed using an acoustic echo canceller. In this paper, we implement an acoustic echo canceller with robust double-talk detection algorithm using TMS-320C6711 DSK. First we developed the echo canceller on the PC for verifying the performance of echo cancellation, then implemented it on the TMS320C6711 DSK. For processing of one speech sample with 8kHz sampling rate and 256 filter taps of the echo canceller, the implemented system used only 0.035ms and achieved the ERLE of 20.73dB.

The addition of oxygenates to diesel fuel can significantly reduce particulate emissions. Dibutyl maleate (DBM) and tripropylene glycol methyl ether (TGME) have been identified as possible additives based on their physicochemical characteristics and performance in engine test. However, their potential environmental impacts are unknown. therefore, practical considerations in the selection of an oxygenate additives should include cost, availability, compatibility with engines and fuel, and, particularly, its overall environmental impact. This study was investigated to determine optimal condition for the analysis of potential diesel oxygenates using SPME technique with GC-FID. Four fibers were compared and CAR/PDMS fiber was found to be the most sensitive when used direct-sampling. An absorption time of 30min and a desorption time of 5min provided to be the most sensitivity. The effects of experimental parameters such as the addition of salts, agitation, absorption time, compositon on the analysis were investigated. Analytical parameter such as linearity was also evaluated.

Real automobiles have been utilized to study the occupant behaviors and the response of the structures in the crash environment. Since various parameters are involved in the automobile crashworthiness, a number of experiments must be conducted. The experiments have been contributed to increasing the cost due to the fact that the test is quite expensive. Therefore, computer simulation is adopted to reduce the number of experiments. A few computer programs have been developed specifically to solve the occupant responses in the crash environment. In this research, a software is used to study the occupant dynamic analysis. A modeling of occupant analysis is established for a passenger car and the results are verified through comparisons with real experiments. In the modeling, data are tuned very carefully so that simulated results such as HIC(Head Injury Criterion) and acceleration of each body may approximate to the experimental results. The compared experiment is a barrier test which is carried out by frontal impact. A feedback to the design process is suggested from the result of this research.

This paper compares two speech estimators under a generalized Gamma distribution for DFT-based single-microphone speech enhancement methods. For the speech enhancement, the noise estimation based on recursive averaging spectral values by spectral minimum noise is applied to two speech estimators based on the generalized Gamma distribution using $\kappa$=1 or $\kappa$=2. The performance of two speech enhancement algorithms is measured by recognition accuracy of automatic speech recognition(ASR) in car noisy environment.
This paper is on designing an indoor driving simulator to evaluate the performance of in-car speech recognizer when influenced by the elements, which lower the success rate of speech recognition. The proposed simulator simulates vehicle noise which was pre-recorded in diverse driving environments and driver's speech. Additionally, the proposed Lombard effect conversion module in this simulator enables the speech recorded in a studio environment to convert into various possible driving scenarios. The relevant experimental results have confirmed that the proposed simulator is a feasible approach for realizing an effective method as it achieved similar speech recognition results to the real driving environment.
