Speech Recognition in the Car Noise Environment (자동차 소음 환경에서 음성 인식)

  • This paper describes the development of a speaker-dependent isolated word recognizer as applied to voice dialing in a car noise environment. for this purpose, several methods to improve performance under such condition are evaluated using database collected in a small car moving at 100km/h The main features of the recognizer are as follow: The endpoint detection error can be reduced by using the magnitude of the signal which is inverse filtered by the AR model of the background noise, and it can be compensated by using variants of the DTW algorithm. To remove the noise, an autocorrelation subtraction method is used with the constraint that residual energy obtainable by linear predictive analysis should be positive. By using the noise rubust distance measure, distortion of the feature vector is minimized. The speech recognizer is implemented using the Motorola DSP56001(24-bit general purpose digital signal processor). The recognition database is composed of 50 Korean names spoken by 3 male speakers. The recognition error rate of the system is reduced to 4.3% using a single reference pattern for each word and 1.5% using 2 reference patterns for each word.

  • The number of automobiles is rapidly increasing , as are the importance of the car as a way of transportation, and the variety of its uses. In these surroundings, a safety, one of the primary factors which must be considered in automotive engineering, demands a system that aids the driver's vision and perception. In this point of view, development of the more promoted system that complement the existing passive method which relies on just man's ability is the important issue of the advanced traffic system including ITS. In this paper, we provide an algorithm and implementation of a control system that warns the collisions ahead and avoids this situation, using informations about the host-car, target-car and surroundings. The warning is made by an algorithm that decides the degree of safely. With this degree of safely, the controller automatically controls a vehicle's speed to a proper level.

Vehicle-logo recognition based on the PCA

  • Vehicle-logo recognition technology is very important in vehicle automatic recognition technique. The intended application is automatic recognition of vehicle type for secure access and traffic monitoring applications, a problem not hitherto considered at such a level of accuracy. Vehicle-logo recognition can improve Vehicle type recognition accuracy. So in this paper, introduces how to vehicle-logo recognition. First introduces the region of the license plate by algorithm and roughly located the region of car emblem based on the relationship of license plate and car emblem. Then located the car emblem with precision by the distance of Hausdorff. On the base, processing the region by morphologic, edge detection, analysis of connectivity and pick up the PCA character by lowing the dimension of the image and unifying the PCA character. At last the logo can be recognized using the algorithm of support vector machine. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This study provides to car driver with car exhaust gas and sensor information which are car trouble code in engine and many sensors when the car has some problems. This is to provide car manager with many information of car sensors when we go to vehicle maintenance. For example, information of engine RPM, fuel system, intake air temperature, air flow sensors and oxygen sensors can provide to owner or garage, and also add to multimedia system for mp3 files and video files. This system consists of embedded linux system of low power while driving the car which uses OBD-II protocols and zigbee communication interface from CAN communication of car system to self-diagnosis embedded system of car. Finally, low power embedded system has a lot of application and OBD-II protocols for embedded linux system and CAN communication which get sensor informations of car control sensor system while driving the car.

  • Intelligent Transport Systems (Intelligent Transportation System: ITS) is a system for inducing a flow of ideal car for using the most advanced technology, it is determined the status of the road, and take appropriate action. In order to be measured at various time points, and is managed, the information about the traffic situation is used image using a computer mainly. The image processing using a computer, it is an easy way to collect parameters of the various traffic in real time, technology has developed more and more. Vehicle detection of transport parameters of intelligent transportation system is a very important technology basically. Therefore, technology detection method using car background images and the contour line extraction method using an edge is used, however, problems have been raised on the accuracy of the detection rate.

Rake-Based Cellular Radar Receiver Design for Moving Target Detection in Multipath Channel

  • In this paper, we design a rake-based cellular radar receiver (CRR) scheme to detect a moving target located in a multipath environment. The modules of Doppler filter banks, threshold level test, and target detection module are newly introduced into the conventional rake receiver so that it can function as a radar system. The proposed CRR tests the Doppler-shift frequency and signal-to-noise ratio of the received signal against predefined threshold levels to determine detection and then calculates target velocities and ranges. The system performance is evaluated in terms of detection probability and the maximum detection range under a Nakagami-n channel that reflects the multipath environment.

  • In this paper, we propose the drowsiness detection method for car driver. This paper determines whether or not the driver's eyes are closed using the depth and infrared videos. The proposed method has the advantage to detect drowsiness without being affected by illumination. The proposed method detects a face in the depth picture by using the fact that the nose is closest to the camera. The driver's eyes are detected by using the extraction of harr-like feature within the detected face region. This method considers to be drowsiness if eyes are closed for a certain period of time. Simulation results show the drowsiness detection performance for the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we present a real-time method to detect moving objects in a rotating and zooming camera. It is useful for camera surveillance of fixed but rotating camera, camera on moving car, and so on. We first compensate the global motion, and then exploit the displaced frame difference (DFD) to find the block-wise boundary. For robust detection, we propose a kind of image to combine the detections from consecutive frames. We use the block-wise detection to achieve the real-time speed, except the pixel-wise DFD. In addition, a fast block-matching algorithm is proposed to obtain local motions and then global affine motion. In the experimental results, we demonstrate that our proposed algorithm can handle the real-time detection of common object, small object, multiple objects, the objects in low-contrast environment, and the object in zooming camera.
