The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between changes in body temperature, adiposity and sympathoadrenal activity in normal weight female college students, eating an instant-noodle lunch in a laboratory setting at ambient temperatures of 22-24.8$^{\circ}C$. Preprandial epinephrine(EPI) concentration, as an indicator of adrenal activity, was inversely and significantly correlated with body weight, body mass index(BMI), and waist girth. Changes in pre- and postprandial EPI concentrations showed positive correlations with % body fat, fat mass, waist girth, hip girth, and waist/hip girth ratio(WHR). The preprandial norepinephrine (NE) concentration was negatively correlated with recovery time from the peak postprandial core temperature to the meal-start core temperature(RTST). However, the NE concentration, an indicator of sympathetic neural activity, was not related to anthropometric measurements in normal weight young women. In conclusion, adrenal activity was negatively associated with adiposity and central body fat distribution. Sympathetic activity was related to body temperature regulation capacity after a meal, but was not related to adiposity in normal weight young women. (Korean J Nutrition 31(7) 1130-1138, 1998)

Climate changes have impacted to many sectors including water resources in Vietnam. Vietnam is agricultural development country having more than 6,000 earth dam reservoirs. These reservoirs play a very important role in flow regulation for water supply to economic sectors. In the context of undesirable impacts of climate change such as increasing temparature, evaporation, and changing rainfall and rainfall pattern, water demands and inflow to reservoirs also are being influenced. This leads to changes of resevoir exploitation effects that needs to be assessed for adaptation solutions. This article summarizes evaluations on climate change impacts to 16 reservoirs in 4 regions of North-West, North-East, Central Part, and Central Highland of Vietnam. Research results showed that in the context of climate change, safety of these reservoirs will be decreased from 8% to 20% in both water supply and flood control capacity.

This paper investigates the evolution of 'inter-firm' technology transfer in the Thai automobile industry, which has gradually been integrated into global production network of some specific automotive models(one-ton pickups). This paper discusses the linkage between the role of automobile assemblers in transferring technology and the way their strategic changes bring about heightened demands on the technological capacity of suppliers and the contents of technology transfer. With higher competition at the global level, local suppliers are required to improve their technical and managerial skills, especially in the area of 'product engineering' capability. The authors examine the ways local firms have adapted to these changes in their environments, as well as the ways they utilize inter-firm relationship with automobile assemblers as a means to improve their own technological capabilities. The dynamic process of capability formation in local parts firms, through intensive efforts and learning inducements brought about by inter-firm relationships, are also discussed.

In this study, the changes in occlusal strength and oral environment before and after the use of natural gargles containing cinnamon were confirmed. This study involved 42 adults aged 19 or older living in Busan from November 25 to December 2, 2023. Twenty-one people were randomly selected for each of the regular and natural gargles. In this study, the group using natural gargles confirmed an increase in saliva buffering power, a decrease in O'Leary index, and an increase in occlusal strength. Through this, it was confirmed that natural gargles containing cinnamon are helpful in improving the oral environment and occlusal strength.

노화는 모든 사람에게 공통적으로 일어나는 자연스러운 현상이다. 그러나 이에 따른 신체적인 변화는 각 개인에 따라, 그리고 한 개인 안에서조차 각종 장기별로 다양한 속도로 진행된다. 노년기의 생리적인 변화는 예비용량(reserve capacity)의 저하에 따라 외부의 스트레스에 대처하여 항상성을 유지하는 능력이 감소되어 나타나게 된다. 안정적 상태에서 기능수준에는 큰 변화가 없으나 활동상태의 기능 수준은 연령증가에 따라 상당히 저하되는 것을 보여준다. 노년기의 생리적 변화에 따라 직병에 대한 감수성은 증가하나 대다수의 만성퇴행성질환은 특정 병리현상에 의해 발생하며 노화가 직접적인 원인으로 작용하지는 않는 것으로 알려지고 있다.

This paper presents a analysis on the torque and power characteristics of standard 3-phase induction motor. An induction motor changes its characteristics parameters under the operation condition with the same capacity. In this paper, we analyzed that how the power and torque characteristics of induction motor would be changed according to the change of these parameters.

This paper presents an experimental study on flexural behavior of damaged RC beams repaired with epoxy mortar system. The main test variables are repair length and depth. A series of 7 specimens was tested to show the corresponding effect of each variables on maximum load capacity, load-deflection relationship, and failure mode. The results of this study shows that flexural behavior of repaired RC beams changes as the repair length and depth is getting longer and deeper, so that the tension strength of repairing materials should be considered in the courses of repair design.

Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), including snoring, sleep apnea and upper airway resistance syndrome are common problems in children. The pathophysiological mechanism of SDB in children is unclear but may include hypoxemia and changes in sleep architecture. Children with SDB show reduced neurocognitive function, and memory and attentional capacity. Furthermore, these children show increased problematic behaviour and reduced school performance. Whether early recognition and treatment of SDB in children may improve neurocognitive function and school performance remains to be fully evaluated in the future.

After the appearance of apartments in Korea, Apartment Housing has been generally accepted for its high capacity of population and convenience in the management. Nowadays, apartments have become higher, larger and more complex than ever before, showing abrupt changes in structure, form and mechanical systems. Likewise, the hazards of fire and the scale of fire losses have become a serious problem. Therefore. considerations of fire safety have taken a greater portion in the design of Apartment Housing. This study is focused particulary on spatial planning rather than on mechanical systems for fire safety.
