  • 교량 시설물은 사회적으로 중요한 기반 시설물로서 공용기간 동안 안전한 관리가 중요하다. 도로교량의 많은 비율을 차지하고 있는 강박스거더교량의 경우 허용응력설계법으로 설계되고 내하력이 평가되어 왔으나, 최근 한계상태설계법으로 설계기준이 변경되었음에도 불구하고 내하력 평가에서는 아직까지 허용응력법을 대부분 사용하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 2 가지 설계 방법을 이용하여 다수의 교량에 대한 내하율 평가 결과를 비교하고, 기존의 허용응력법에 의한 내하력을 한계상태법에 의한 내하력으로 환산하는 방법을 모색하고자 하였다. 이 결과는 추후 교량을 관리함에 있어 보강 필요성 판단 및 한계상태법에 의한 내하력 평가에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Decoupling Control Design for Variable Speed Refrigeration System of a Ship

  • In this paper, we suggest decoupling control method based on general PI control law to control variable speed refrigeration system of the ship effectively. In the variable speed refrigeration system, the capacity and the superheat are controlled by inverters and electronic expansion valves respectively for saving energy and improving cost performance. Thus, we propose decoupling model to eliminate the interfering loop between capacity and superheat at first. Next, we design PI controller to control capacity and superheat independently and simultaneously. Finally the control performance was investigated through some experiments. The experimental results show that the PI control design can obtain good control performance under the adjustable control reference and thermal load variation.

  • Feasibility of the small capacity fuel cell powered vehicle is carried out for system design with loading characteristics. The major design concepts which include battery, driving motor, and fuel cell module are analyzed and discussed for the future development. A load characteristics program is developed in order to calculate the traction power of fuel cell vehicle according to the driving courses specified. Further, the small capacity fuel cell vehicle is analyzed to determine the capacity of stack as a function of the velocity for an appropriate power required.

정수 슬러지 발생량 조사 및 슬러지 처리시설의 공정평가 (Research of Sludge Quantity and Evaluation of Sludge Handling Facilities in Water Treatment Plants)

  • Sludge quantity has increased at "A"water treatment plant due to deterioration of raw water quality and GAC installation. Increased sludge resulted in overloading on sludge handling facilities. The object of this study is to survey sludge quantity and capacity of sludge handling facilities at "A"water treatment plant. Measured quantity of sedimentation sludge considerably exceeded the design capacity of sludge holding basin. Sludge holding basin was properly designed, but low concentration of sludge discharged from sedimentation basin caused production of large volume of the sludge. Timer operated control system for sludge withdrawal unit and leakage through a control valve were suspected to cause the low concentration. Augmentation of the control system by a turbidity meter and addition of a new control valve successfully reduced the sludge volume enough to satisfy the design capacity of sludge holding basin. Unlike sedimentation sludge, measured quantity of washwater was considerably less than the design capacity of washwater basin because it was over-designed.

이중관 열교환기를 사용한 물 대 공기 열펌프 시스템의 설계와 성능해석 (Design and performance analysis of water-to-air heat pump system using double-tube heat exchanger)

  • The water-to-air heat pump system requires relatively lower energy consumption and less installation space. The heat exchangers used for this system are the finned-tube type for the indoor unit and the double-tube type for the outdoor unit. Mathematical models for this system are developed and programmed in computer. Experimental data from various conditions are obtained and compared with calculated values from the computer simulation program. Differences of cooling capacity and COP are 1.25% and 0.47%, and those of heating capacity and COP are 0.51% and 0.13%, respectively. Simulation results are in good agreement with test results. Therefore, the developed program is effectively used for the design and the performance prediction of water-to-air heat pump system.

건축물 내진능력 표현에 관한 고찰 및 제언 (Considerations and Suggestions for Expressing of Seismic Capacity of Buildings)

  • In this paper, some popular intensity measures of earthquakes including magnitude, MMI, and PGA as well as their empirical relationships are briefly reviewed since they have been widely used without prudence by mass media, the public, and even the government when asking or expressing the seismic capacity of buildings. The basic concept of current seismic design is also presented in order to facilitate relevant discussions. It is emphasized that expressing the building seismic capacity simplistically in terms of seismological quantities or terminologies like magnitude and MMI is inherently irrational, may be misleading the stakeholders, and should be avoided. Alternative expressions, more rational and consistent with current seismic design philosophy and practice, are recommended.

Design and Analysis of Fuzzy Control in a Variable Speed Refrigeration System

  • This paper deals with fuzzy control with a feedforward compensator to progress both energy saving and coefficient of performance (COP) in a variable speed refrigeration system. Both the capacity and superheat are controlled simultaneously and independently in the system. By adopting the fuzzy theory, the controller design for the capacity and superheat is possible without depending on a dynamic model of the system. Moreover, the feedforward compensator of the superheat can reduce influence of the interfering loop between the capacity and superheat. Some experiments are conducted to design appropriate fuzzy controller by an iteration manner. The results show that the proposed fuzzy controller with the compensator can establish good control performances for the complicated refrigeration system in spite of its inherent strong non-linearity. Also, the fuzzy control performances were investigated by comparing to the model based PI control experimental results to evaluate transient behavior under the control.

인장하중을 받는 중대형급 선설치 앵커볼트의 콘크리트파괴강도 평가를 위한 연구 (A Study on the Concrete Breakout Capacity Evaluation of Medium-to-Large size CIP Anchor Bolts under Tension Loading)

  • 콘크리트용 앵커볼트의 설계에 $45^{\circ}$ 콘파괴 이론이 그동안 적용되어 왔으나, 2,000년 이후부터 CCD(Concrete Capacity Design) 방법이 새로운 설계법으로 도입되었다. 그러나, 본 방법은 중소형 앵커볼트에 대한 실험 결과에 근거한 관계로 앵커볼트의 직경이 50mm 이하이고 매입깊이가 635mm 이하인 경우에만 허용되고 있다. 따라서 M50 이상의 중대형 앵커볼트에 대한 합리적인 인장파괴강도식의 도출이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 매입깊이 400~450mm의 M56 선설치 단일 앵커볼트의 콘크리트 인장파괴강도 평가를 위해 5개의 시험체에 대해 실험을 수행하였다. 그리고, 본 실험 결과와 최근의 타 실험 결과를 종합하여 매입깊이가 280~1,200mm인 중대형급 앵커볼트에 대해 현 설계기준의 인장파괴강도식의 적용성 여부를 평가하였다.

캡스톤 디자인 지역사회치위생학 수업이 치과위생사 역량 및 자기 주도력 증가에 미치는 효과 (Increase in dental hygienists' competency and self-directed capacity after capstone design course on community dental hygiene)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 캡스톤 디자인 설계 지역사회 치위생학 수업 후 학생들의 역량과 자기주도력 증가에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 연구 참여자는 C시에 소재한 4년제 대학에서 지역사회 치위생학 수업을 이수한는 치위생 전공 34명이었다. 설문도구는 치과위생사 역량 52문항과 자기주도력 20문항으로 구성되었다. 연구결과: 캡스톤 디자인 수업 후 전반적인 치과위생사의 역량이 증가하였고(p<0.05), 임상치위생 및 지역사회 건강증진 역량도 높은 증가를 보였다(p<0.001). 자기주도력에 따른 치과위생사의 역량 증가를 분석한 결과, 자기주도력이 낮은 집단일수록 임상 치위생 역량과 지역사회 건강증진 역량이 높은 향상을 보였다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 캡스톤 디자인 설계지역사회 치위생학 수업이 학생들의 치과위생사 역량과 자기주도력을 향상시켰음을 확인하였고, 캡스톤 디자인 수업법은 미래사회에서 요구되는 역량을 배양하는데 탁월한 교수법임을 시사하였다.

Seismic Capacity Design and Retrofit of Reinforced Concrete Staggered Wall Structures

  • This study investigates the seismic performance of a staggered wall structure designed with conventional strength based design, and compares it with the performance of the structure designed by capacity design procedure which ensures strong column-weak beam concept. Then the seismic reinforcement schemes such as addition of interior columns or insertion of rotational friction dampers at the ends of connecting beams are validated by comparing their seismic performances with those of the standard model structure. Fragility analysis shows that the probability to reach the dynamic instability is highest in the strength designed structure and is lowest in the structure with friction dampers. It is also observed that, at least for the specific model structures considered in this study, R factor of 5.0 can be used in the seismic design of staggered wall structures with proposed retrofit schemes, while R factor of 3.0 may be reasonable for standard staggered wall structures.
