PESQ-Based Selection of Efficient Partial Encryption Set for Compressed Speech

  • Adopting an encryption function in voice over Wi-Fi service incurs problems such as additional power consumption and degradation of communication quality. To overcome these problems, a partial encryption (PE) algorithm for compressed speech was recently introduced. However, from the security point of view, the partial encryption sets (PESs) of the conventional PE algorithm still have much room for improvement. This paper proposes a new selection method for finding a smaller PES while maintaining the security level of encrypted speech. The proposed PES selection method employs the perceptual evaluation of the speech quality (PESQ) algorithm to objectively measure the distortion of speech. The proposed method is applied to the ITU-T G.729 speech codec, and content protection capability is verified by a range of tests and a reconstruction attack. The experimental results show that encrypting only 20% of the compressed bitstream is sufficient to effectively hide the entire content of speech.

  • In WSN, at the initial stage, sensor nodes are randomly deployed over the region of interest, and self-configure the clustered networks by grouping a bunch of sensor nodes and selecting a cluster header among them. Specially, in WSN environment, in which the administrator's intervention is restricted, the self-configuration capability is essential to establish a power-conservative WSN which provides broad sensing coverage and communication coverage. In this paper, we propose a communication coverage-aware cluster head election algorithm for Herearchical WSNs which consists of communication coverage-aware of the Base station is the cluster head node is elected and a clustering.

Implementation of Real Time Multi-User Communication System with MPEG-4 CELP (MPEG-4 CELP를 이용한 실시간 다자간 통신시스템의 구현)

  • In recent, the innovative improvement of a internet and computing environment make users desire the capability of processing information in real time. In this paper we implement a PC-to-PC real time multi-user communication system on the internet environment using the efficient algorithm for a real time processing and the MFEG-4 CELP codec which can be used for a low bit-rate coding from 6 to 24kbps. The implemented system produces a compressed bit-streams with the MPEG-4 CEU Mode-I 18200bps mode. There is 5 frames for a package and 1 frame has 160 samples. We can use this system to communicate with 4 users simultaneously in real time. The system is designed and examined on the Windows operating system.

  • In this paper, an implementation method of the efficient image transmission stage using watermarking and channel ceding is proposed. Usually, image communication system consists of both a transmitter part and a receiver part. The transmitter part takes charge of copyright protection of the generated image data, and image coding and compression that can deal with channel noises when transmitting. In the transmitter part, we propose a channel coding method which protects both the watermark signal and the original signal for protecting the copyright of image data and solving channel noises when transmitting. Firstly, copyright protection of image data is conducted. For this, image structure analysis is performed, and both the improvement of image quality and the generation of the watermark signal are made. Then, the histogram is constructed and the watermark signals are selected from this. At this stage, by embedding of the coefficients of curve fittness into the lower 4 bits of the image data pixels, image quality degradation due to the embedding of watermark signals are prevented. Finally, turbo coding, which has the most efficient error correction capability in error correction codes, has been conducted to protect signals of watermark and preserved original image quality against noises on the transmission channel. Particularly, a new interleaving method named "semi random inter]easer" has been proposed.

Accounting Education in the Era of Information and Technology : Suggestions for Adopting IT Related Curriculum (기술정보화(IT) 시대의 회계 교육 : IT교과와의 융합교육의 제안)

  • Recently, social and economic environment has been rapidly changed. In particular, the development of IT technology accelerated the introduction of databases, communication networks, information processing and analyzing systems, making the use of such information and communication technology an essential factor for corporate management innovation. This change also affected the accounting areas. The purpose of this study is to document changes in accounting areas due to the adoption of IT technologies in the era of technology and information, to define the required accounting professions in this era, and to present the efficient educational methodologies for training such accounting experts. An accounting expert suitable for the era of technology and information means an accounting profession not only with basic accounting knowledge, competence, independency, reliability, communication skills, and flexible interpersonal skills, but also with IT skills, data utilization and analysis skills, the understanding big data and artificial intelligence, and blockchain-based accounting information systems. In order to educate future accounting experts, the accounting curriculum should be reorganized to strengthen the IT capabilities, and it should provide a wide variety of learning opportunities. It is also important to provide a practical level of education through industry and academic cooperation. Distance learning, web-based learning, discussion-type classes, TBL, PBL, and flipped-learnings will be suitable for accounting education methodologies to foster future accounting experts. This study is meaningful because it can motivate to consider accounting educational system and curriculum to enhance IT capabilities.

A Key Distrubution Protocol with User Authentication for Mobile PCS (개인통신서비스를 위한 인증 및 키분배방식 연구)

  • Two types of key distribution protocols with user authentication are proposed for PCS(Personal Communication Service) and digital mobile communication systems. In this paper, we investigate the service procedure and security requirement for PCS. also discuss the security problems of KDPs previously proposed for digital mobile communication, and show that Park`s type II among the schemes is easily broken by an impersonation attack. Our proposed I, II are based on the modified cryptosystem of Rabin and ElGamal, and reduce the amount of computation for user authentication. Such a reduction is good solution coped with the limited capability of user terminal on PCS. As a result of making a comparison between our schemes and the previously presented schemes, we can know ours are more secure and efficient for PCS.

  • Recently, Importance of power management circuit technology is increased with the development of portable electric devices. This paper presents a high performance DC-DC buck converter for mobile applications. Especially, presented design have low ripple voltages and driving capability of large load current. A designed voltage mode 2-phase DC-DC converter is implemented in a $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process, and the overall size is $2.35{\times}2.35mm^2$. The peak efficiency is 91% with a 4MHz frequency and the maximum load current is 4A.

  • Ubiquitous sensor network is the communication environment where sensor nodes move freely and construct network to get the services from the system. So, it does not need fixed infrastructure and can easily be placed in unaccessible regions like war or calamity area. Wireless sensor network protocol has self-organizing capability, need to adapt topology change flexibly and also has technique that sensor nodes work cooperatively, because network disconnection is frequently occurred due to the active mobility of sensor nodes. In this paper, we design a cluster based fault-tolerant routing protocol for the efficient topology construction and to guarantee stable data transmission in USN. The performance of the proposed protocol is evaluated by an analytic model.

  • Pervasive Multi-channel audio systems are being realized due to advances in digital technology. This paper proposes an efficient system that serially connects individual speakers with bidirectional digital communication capability by means of SoC design. In particular, each speaker can identify the bit stream assigned to the speaker and convert it into analog audio. Furthermore, the speaker can self-diagnose the speaker functionality by utilizing the designed capability to measure frequencies of various square wave test signals. The proposed system running on 200MHz clock yielded restoration of analog output signal with latency of only $500{\mu}s$ compared to directly driving the speakers in a traditional way.

  • It is possible to construct the more improved communication network quality due to practical use of data network using the redundant frequency bandwidth of CATV network. And the multimedia remote educations under the CATV network environment are being tried in the secondary schools. In general, CATV network is able to support not only the remote education using multimedia contents but also real-time responses because the network of CATV has capability to have transmission speed from 256Kbps to l0Mbps. In this paper, we design a new model of the efficient remote education by analysis of the multimedia data transmission capability using CATV network and suggest a method which can be applied specifically.
