Lane Spline Generation Using Edge Detection Robust to Environmental Changes (외부 환경 변화에 강인한 에지 검출을 통한 차선의 스플라인 생성)

  • Lane detection with the use of a camera is an essential task required for the development of advanced driving assistance system. In this paper, edges of the lane are generated by applying Canny's method. The edge detection usually makes different results for several environmental conditions depending on the clearness of lane quality, so that it sometimes causes wrong lane detection. Therefore, we propose robust algorithm to environmental changes that automatically adjusts parameter for edge detection and generates edges more stably. Based on the acquired edges, we finally generate the spline curve of lane by using Catmull Rom spline.

The Characteristics of Edge Detection in Blurring Images by the Hybrid Functions for Local Scale Control (Local Scale변화에 대한 하이브리드 함수의 블러링 명상의 에지검출 특성)

  • In this paper, the hybrid function by local scale control is proposed to detect the optimal edges from blurred images. In the case of image capturing, some blurring is occurred by the characteristics of the illumination and the reflected light. During processing the blurred image, it is difficult to detect perfect edges. This algorithm proposed a new hybrid function which is merged Gaussian function and the second derivative of Gaussian function. And it detects the optimal edges applying directional edge detection by Canny algorithm as the scale factor of $\sigma$ in the given local mask has been changed after convolving the hybrid function for input image. In the result, the performance is confirmed that this algorithm is better than Sobel, Robert and Canny edge detector by analyzing the some test images. And the results is obtained 0.2 ㏈ ~ 14 ㏈ of PSNR than those conventional method.

Identification of 5-Jung-color and 5-Kan-color In Video (비디오에서 오정색과 오간색 식별)

  • As color was used for formative language since a human activity was beginning, all the symptoms in the world that the human eye can see is present. In this paper, we identify Korea traditional color harmony for extracted key frames from scene change detection. Traditional color is classified as 5-Jung-color and 5-Kan-color, and determine whether to harmony. Red, blue, yellow, black, and white, called 5-Jung-color and pink, blue, purple, sulfur, and green, called the 5-Kan-color was identified. First, we extract edge using Canny algorithm. And, we are labeling and clustering colors around the edge. Finally, we identify the traditional color using identification method of traditional color harmony. The proposed study in this paper has been proven through experiments.

AEMSER Using Adaptive Threshold Of Canny Operator To Extract Scene Text (장면 텍스트 추출을 위한 캐니 연산자의 적응적 임계값을 이용한 AEMSER)

  • Scene text extraction is important because it offers some important information on different image based applications pouring in current smart generation. Edge-Enhanced MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions) which enhances the boundaries using the canny operator after extracting the basic MSER shows excellent performance in terms of text extraction. But according to setting the threshold of the canny operator, the result images using Edge-Enhanced MSER are different, so there needs a method figuring out the threshold. In this paper, we propose a AEMSER(Adaptive Edge-enhanced MSER) that applies the method extracting the boundary using the middle value of histogram to Edge-Enhanced MSER to get the canny operator's threshold. The proposed method can acquire better result images than the existing methods because it extracts the area only for the obvious boundaries.

Improvement of Power Consumption of Canny Edge Detection Using Reduction in Number of Calculations at Square Root (제곱근 연산 횟수 감소를 이용한 Canny Edge 검출에서의 전력 소모개선)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the square root computation having high computation complexity in Canny edge detection algorithm using image processing. The proposed method is to reduce the number of operation calculating gradient magnitude using pixel's continuity using make a specific pattern instead of square root computation in gradient magnitude calculating operation. Using various test images and changing number of hole pixels, we can check for calculate match rate about 97% for one hole, and 94%, 90%, 88% when the number of hole is increased and measure decreasing computation time about 0.2ms for one hole, and 0.398ms, 0.6ms, 0.8ms when the number of hole is increased. Through this method, we expect to implement low power embedded vision system through high accuracy and a reduced operation number using two-hole pixels.

  • 장애인이 지속적으로 증가하면서 장애인들을 위한 복지 시설들 또한 증가하고 있다. 그러나 장애인들이 컴퓨터를 이용하는 데에는 아직까지 많은 불편함을 겪고 있으며, 그 원인으로는 장애인들이 컴퓨터를 보다 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 장치들이 부족하다는 것을 들 수 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 적외선 조명 카메라를 이용하여 장애인들이 눈동자와 눈꺼풀의 움직임만으로 마우스를 제어할 수 있는 동공 마우스 시스템을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 그 가능성을 보였다. 제안한 시스템에서는 적외선 조명 카메라, Canny 알고리즘과 퍼지 추론 기법이 이용되었으며, 눈이 포함된 영상에서 Canny 알고리즘으로 동공을 검출하여 마우스 위치를 추정하고 퍼지 추론 기법으로 눈 깜박임을 추정하여 마우스 포인터 이동 및 클릭 기능이 구현되었다. 제안된 기법들을 이용하여 실험하고 그 결과를 분석하였다.

  • Our study proposes the methods of distinguishing vehicle types using the interval and size of the car. The car videos converts the basic RGB model to Gray model for use and through Canny Edge Direction, it eliminates the background of the car while obtaining feature points through the detection of contours.

Image Enhancement Method using Canny Algorithm based on Curvelet Transform

  • This paper proposes the efficient preprocessing method based on curvelet transform for edge enhancement in image. The propose method is generated the edge map by using the Canny algorithm to wavelet transform, which is the sub-step of the curvelet transform. In order to improve the part of edge feature, the selective sharpening according to the generate edge map is applied. In experimental result, the propose method achieves that the enhancement of edge feature is better than conventional methods. This leads that peak to signal noise ratio, edge intensity are improvement on average about 1.92, 1.12dB respectively.

  • 영상에서의 경계선 추출은 원 영상의 노이즈에 의해 크게 영향을 받는다. 따라서 먼저 그 노이즈들을 제거할만한 어떤 방법들이 필요하다. Mean Shift 알고리즘은 이러한 목적에 부합되는 유연한 함수로서, 별로 중요하지 않은 정보와 민감한 노이즈 부분을 점점 제거하는데 알맞다. 여기서는 Canny 알고리즘을 사용하여 중점으로 하는 영상에서의 윤곽선을 찾아낸다. 그리고 테스트 하고 이전의 유일한 Canny 알고리즘 보다 결과가 좋음을 알아낸다.

  • 운송 컨테이너의 식별자를 추출하고 인식하는 것은 컨테이너 식별자들의 크기나 위치가 정형화되어 있지 않고 외부의 잡음으로 인하여 식별자의 형태가 훼손되어 있기 때문에 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특성을 고려하여 컨테이너 영상에 대해 Canny 마스크를 이용하여 에지를 검출하고, Canny 마스크가 적용된 영상에서 수직·수평 히스토그램을 적용하여 컨테이너의 식별자 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 컨테이너의 식별자 영역을 삼각형 타입의 퍼지 이진화 방법을 적용하여 이진화하고 이진화된 컨테이너 식별자 영역을 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘으로 개별 식별자를 추출한다. 제안된 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 실제 컨테이너 영상에 적용한 결과, 기존의 방법보다 컨테이너의 식별자 추출에서 우수한 성능이 있음을 확인하였다.
